Can someone clear up the state of this game? Is what I downloaded a demo or not? Can I unlock it if it is?

This game is really bad. I'm stuck on the first level and stuff is popping into and out of visibility. I suspect I won't get past this first level because of the numerous glitches. I can't find out how to open the gates or get a level 2 keycard but with some of the other stuff phasing in and out of existence it wouldn't surprise me the item I need is glitched.
