Well this is funny.
Why not put your money on people who will finish products? Siren's Domain, Iccreations and Icstor. I'd drop some other names but i don't think they'll finish. But the three I've named they will finish and do deserve more backers.
I currently perform a Patreon support to 10 developers. It use to be 11. So how do you know that I don't support the ones you have listed. My f95zone account and my patreon account are different. So if you are using my ID here as a search on patreon you won't find it and I also do not make public who I support on my patreon account.
To be fair to you though I do not support the ones you listed mainly because they work in RPGM, which I am not a fan of and avoid them like the plague. I really hate all the running around you do in them and trying to figure out where you are suppose to go. That is not to say that they are not good games just not ones that I enjoy. I also hate games that have a lot of grind in them. Iccreations does F.I.L.F which is not a RPGM but I am not fan of it.
The three you mention they do have good track records and even though I am not aware of anything that Sirens' Domain has finished they have shown they are willing to work long term on their products since it seems that Town of Passion has been a year in production and I support Dark Cookie but I am not aware of anything he has finished. So a finish product is not needed just a track record that shows that you are in it for the long haul.
I am more of a fan of VN style game and as such it is real important that a developer finish otherwise it is like someone telling a story and leaving you with a cliffhanger for the rest of your life. I also hate cliffhangers. However to be fair to the Developer who would like to make a living making these games at some point you have to start supporting or they may lose interest in making them. Some do it because they love doing it and some because they already good at it and would like to make money at. So the balance for the later has to be somewhere.
To me three months is a good point that you will have a few supporters and this person had them I liked the beginning enough that I wanted to be an early supporter. To let them know I liked their story and hoped that other would also show some support later. I however feel the developer of this game had an unreasonable time estimate of three months which I would have thought he should have had at least 6 to 9 months before making a decision and have patreon tiers besides just 1 and 5 dollars. Also as suggested more social media interactions, tweets and such. In the end this developer shows that he had no love for this project and we should be grateful that he ended it within the short time frame and instead of us getting more involved in it.
However this does hurt their credibility and support from the adult gamers will be even slower for them in the future.
