I do intend to stick with it, after all, I did like how DoD played out and I'm enjoying it so far. I'm just cautiously concerned about how that one specific point will play out. As long as the reason isn't something that can be solved with a 10 minute conversation, I'll be happy. I'm more interested in seeing how Malady handles being a vamp and how much control we have at her embracing it or maintaining her humanity.

Since turning Malady into a vampire by the player's choice isn't possible, I wonder if we'll be able to turn someone else into a vampire. Trinity is the only pure human LI so she's a good option if you choose to go down that path. I just like it when vampire games let the vampire act as a vampire instead of just act as a human with a few added quirks.

I am curious if/when the characters from the first Occultus will ever make an appearance.

I suspect that if you have the opportunity to reconnect with Trinity, the more likely short-term result is offering to make her a ghoul.

Yeah, I have the feeling something is going to happen with Trinity, she's the only LI that's just a normal human and with Malady now also a vampire she seems a bit disconnected, although she could act as an anchor to her humanity I guess.

Yeah, both could be possible. At some point though if you can reconnect with Trinity, I suspect she'll need to be brought up to speed on the whole "vampires are real and I am one" speech. Mal could keep that a secret at the end of last game since she was still human and her association with vampires was by proxy only. That's not so much the case now.

I'm a couple of updates behind, been a busy few months and a lot of backlog (adult and normal games .... Solo Leveling Arise Overdrive has been taking up far too much of my time) so last I knew is they had split up since Mal turned.

If I can get Ash back you have no idea the happy that will give me. She was an awesome character in the first game and still my fave LI.

from now on my Android ports of Ren'Py games have a 2nd, persistent save location like Windows. if you uninstall the app, the save files and persistent data remain intact.
therefore it needs the permission to access the public external storage (or a new one on Android 11+), because it has to read and write outside its own external storage directories.
you have to grant the permission or the app is shut down.

She is a pretty awesome protag.

She was great in the noir detective setting and has been pretty awesome so far since she turned. Bit moodier now but it fits.

My only concern is i don't want this novel to be a short one like DOD was, i found it too short for such a great story/plot and cast of characters.

I kind of understand your logic, but here lies the problem, you have created a top-notch novel and a lot of people have fallen in love with maddy, There's a great supply of awesome complementary characters for the main FMC, but you just stated after this one ends you got a non occultus novel lined up, and you say you may come back to occultus in the future, that could most definetely leave a large group of people dissapointed if you did not come back to occultus, personaly i think you could do so much more plots/stories for maddy.
I wish i had the ability to write a story like you have here, I know novels can not run for an eternity, But it seems occultus could run several more novels at a bare minimum.
