It makes so much more [sense] to me when MC uses something external to corrupt girls. I know it's odd but games where you can just charm 30 different girls into doing whatever you want are less realistic to me.
i get what you saying but i cannot apply that reasoning. i mean if we deal with xxx-games ...such are not about hardcore nuns. so nothing feels odd about mc running into dtf gials who are not against of being seduced, corrupted and of exploring kinks/fetishes. (
and gameplay dictates that mc meets the horniest and-or the easiest to corrupt gials in som implied pool of opportunities... caz it would not make much sense to surround him with some frigid malehating fems) and nothing feels unreal if a girl is involved in some not-that-uncommon for fems activities (camshows, porn, prostitution, escorting).
now lets talk about hard cases, for example popular here
incest . i assume it is something non-existant IRL (even as kink/fantasy). (not that it is the way of immersion measurement per se. but in a way it is, just without 100% correlation) so i cannot put such game occurances into '
definitely credible' category ...still it well might be '
somewhat credible' (=almost no effect on immersion) were there a somewhat credible build-up... nymphomania or whatever hypersexuality with lust knowing no borders, disorders and traumas contributing to dysfunctional relationships, overwhelming love going unexpected directions, corrupted mind dissipating the societal restrictions.
so technically the mix of
seemingly possible/existent things can allow us to accept a certain narrative. surely some amount of mental gymnastics is needed. but not that much, i think we could even assume that in 1 out of 1-2billion families all that really happened caz stars were alligned perfectly and penis went to some tabooed vagina.
so yeah basically it is another way of me saying that adding
impossible and non-existent things requires much more gymnastics to overcome a breach in players' immersion "wall". or maybe gymnastics will not be of help and a game will just belong to other categories
'not that credible (middle case)' ...'somewhat incredible & incredible'.
i went in-depth with all that, though i cannot say that my perception varies greatly because of the premise and its elements. id say
'definitely credible' and '
somewhat credible' more likely to give me some immersion bonus (and even force me to be more attentive to the written content, which, in turn, can also give some additional immersion bonus) with all other cases i ll just stick to task completion until reaching end of content
