They're not milking, but they're dragging out the support and drip feeding the updates (for understanding reasons, the project is not profitable enough)

I hope so, I want to be wrong.. If i do i will wrote it here and say thank you Dev but im a bit wondering about 2 things. Girl in game is gorgeus one, and shes not doing porn, get great soft pics and i wonder if she make her debut in sutch a game? Come on i want it but its like 50/50 chances... She get more money from making porno in pro movie. Tell me if I wrong.. And the second thing is 400 $ i a quite big money in Russia. Professional photograph take couple bucks, i asked my friend from Russia about prices and she said it very cheap in there.. So that why i start to wonder and make that post yesterday.. Its my opinion, but i wanna be wrong... :)

I totally get it, but of all the games I've ever played this is the furthest from milking. They simply aren't profitable enough to be considered milking. This may be the most cash-intensive game I've played since it requires real people and real photographers. I think the mistake the devs made was simply being too ambitious considering their overhead. This should have been a miniseries, something short and punchy, and could be wrapped up quickly. In general I think more games need to aim for completion in 18 months, and a game like this probably more so.

But I can totally get why you'd drop your support. I don't think they're milking at all, but if you aren't getting the content you need that's just as valid a reason to drop your support.
I was seriously considering supporting this project because I think it's really a very high potential idea. However, meeting the potential or even what seems to be the expectations of the developer requires them to do communicating and promoting (which another user had a great post of suggestions here, that went unreplied to) which they seem to be at best half-assing, if not outright neglecting. It is hard to support a project where the developer does not do the work that supports the project.

I'm in the same boat as you. I was (and still am) considering supporting the game on Patreon, but the dev doesn't seem to be great at communicating. I can live with a game that has slow development periods, and uneven release schedules, but you gotta be really on top of your communications. Even if there isn't much news to report, I expect to hear from the devs at least once every two weeks. You don't need a huge update, just a check-in will go a long ways.

And that's a problem that I see with almost every single dev. Even devs that routinely put out high quality updates, most of them aren't very good at communicating with patrons. But it's much more important for devs that put out infrequent updates to be communicative, and by and large they suck at communicating. There are a number of areas where the amateur nature of 99% of AVG sticks out like a sore thumb, and communication is one of them.

MikeShox - keep in mind that $400 is not pure profit. Of that $400 some is being taken by Patreon in fees. The remained may be taxed by Russia. And then the remainder of that needs to be used to cover overhead (things like any hardware upgrades, studio space, equipment/photographer). Then whatever is left is used to pay people (the developers and the models). So, while the cost of living in Russia is significantly cheaper than the US, and the US dollar has high spending power in Russia, the team doesn't have the full $400 to work with. They still need to be careful with how they spend money and they almost certainly don't earn enough in a single month to cover all of their expenses.

I got your point. I can understand your opinion about it. Just tell me plz what ppl who pay that 400$ get from dev back? Theyre waiting for something he promise them. I thought that game willl be the best game of the year but im not so sure that there will be more content.. Model has a big pottencial, shes very pretty and sexy girl, I tkink i see her sooner in some porn pro than in this game getting further. My only hope is that dev is her BF and she will make some more things with him and put it in game...

Yes, the update rate is unsatisfactory by any standards. Since the last one-picture "update" from VIGOR I've gotten 5 lengthy updates from , two from , two from , and one each from (a new release) and . VIGOR isn't the worst at updating, but they are close. I still believe in the potential of this game, but if the devs need financing to make it work, they need to do what it takes to get supporters.

Patreon works the other way round. You don't necessarily get anything back, you support a project and the people creating it. And if there is not enough support, as it may be the case here, the project slows down, stalls, or gets abandoned. Unlike, say, Kickstarter, where you'll only pay if there is sufficient money to start, here it starts immediately.

Like Cartageno said, that isn't really how Patreon is designed to work. Yes, the devs do assign rewards for their tiers and they should be expected to fulfill those expectations. But there's a certain amount of give and take on Patreon that doesn't exist elsewhere. No one person is paying $400, it's a collection of people giving $2, $5, $20, whatever they can. So while any patronage brings with it expectations, these expectations have to be flexible. If I'm only giving $2 I'm going to be a lot more patient than I would be if I was giving $400. Sometimes you just have to be happy with the idea that you're helping support a creator, even if you aren't getting anything tangible back right away. For a small team like VIGOR, helping them get off the ground may have to be enough for you for now.

That said, if you expect new content on a regular basis in exchange for your support, you aren't wrong. And you wouldn't be wrong for taking your support elsewhere. There are lots of devs who stick to a schedule. But just keep in mind that this isn't really how creators become successful, they sometimes need support through the lean times. It's up to you if that's something you want to do. Vigor would make their lives a lot easier if they were communicative and active on Patreon. It makes it a lot easier for patrons to keep giving money when they see you actively engaging on the website.

I agree with you for some point. I know what youre saying, but if i might suggest is that Vigor should change hes way and make a clear politics to the donors. Meybe some xtra pics of MC or other promotion? Hes money depends on it. More atention to project bring more donors, but now it looks like ppl who beleieve in him just go away becouse they dont feel that Dev make hes promises and fell disappointed..

Absolutely. Anything Vigor can do to be more engaged with patrons would be a good thing. The dev team needs to find ways to attract more support if they can't produce routine releases.

So true. I love the project. I started supporting him right after playing the game for the first time in a higher tier. However, the behind the scenes photos were disappointing, no videos behind the scenes and the promised polls were not satisfactory for the (high) level of support.
Hence, I reduced to the lowest level. But now I also cancelled it as there were no relevant news (!) Or updates on the progress. I am not asking for photos on that level.

By the way, the VK photos of the main model promise a very good update...

Im sorry to hear it. I guess meybe someone will contact with a model that play MC. Meybe she get a knowledge whats going on. I promised that i not tell who told me a gossip, but it might be true that there is moething wrong in dev crew with models content and there will be no more new content. I hate it, I dont wanna that it can be truth, Im hoping its just a stupid gossip and Vigor show us hes update in couple days... There is a lot of shit talking in Russian boards about game but im gonna wait to worte it, i dont wanna told gossips becouse it might be just jelousy or shit talking by some ppl.. You know what i mean.. So Im waiting 4 new release. If Dev start to make hes promises i will suport him as well... Think we all will come back to support that project... Just give Us reason Vigor.. Cheers
