I said I was going to stay off of here, but for things like this I can't go without commenting. I think Pot is perfectly fine for someone who can handle it and is not and alcoholic or addict. Yes it's a gateway drug, but so is booze. If you're not an addict you're probably never going to go through that gateway, and if you do, you'll probably run back pretty fast.

See that's the toxicity of this place, people who know nothing about what goes into it to doing an animation just make a value judgement, you are or course entitled to you opinion, but I think "remove the sex scenes altogether" is a bit drastic. How about, "this is an area of the game that needs improvement" one I well know, and will make happen. TBH. I dread doing the animations and build up to them, so my attitude to this needs to change as well. I'm sure that part of the game suffers due to this, dialogue and interactions included. In my defense I at least have the balls to put them in there and you will find games with much worse animations than mine on here. You will also find extremely well received games that have maybe a blowjob in a year and a half, or no animations at all. I do a walkthrough for one. So I'm being punished for the attempt and another thing I have a hard time with about this site (because I've seen it with other new devs), people are ruthless and allow no room for a learning curve. I appreciate you like the story, but again saying the sex scene shouldn't even be there is a bit of a stretch. Saying they aren't very well done is fine.

I don't know why you're coming at me as though I'm dismissing your game with "toxicity". I'm not out here saying actively comparing your game to any particular other games or calling your game good or bad because of whatever a different game is doing. I only voice my opinion as one who has played your game.

What I meant when I said that you may as well "remove the sex scenes" is that this game clearly has no qualms over being dialogue and text heavy. The game has a lot of lines of dialogue developing the personality of the characters as well as expounding on the trials and tribulations of being a drug addict in many aspects such as mentally, physically, and socially. It feels like that's the story the game is interested in telling because that's what a majority of the time is spent on. However when it comes to the sex scenes there is a clear contrast in the enthusiasm of the writing from my perspective at least, the perspective of a player. I'm not making a judgement statement on how you actually feel writing the sex scenes, I'm only stating how it feels when I played the game. Regardless of the animation quality or quantity, the sex scenes themselves don't feel as though the writing is particularly interested in what happens in these scenes. The game often dives into the emotions and feelings of the main character in relation to drug addiction, but the sex scenes feel written in a pretty cut and dry manner.

This game feels like it's primarily a vehicle to deliver a story about the life of a drug addict and what lies within. The sex scenes feel ancillary to that story. The fact that sex happens can be a plot point within this greater narrative, such as Barbara freaking out about having sex with the MC as a potential sign of falling back into bad habits. However, the game doesn't feel particularly interested in describing the sex so I felt as though one could omit the explicit sex scene and state that the sex happened without affecting the primary story of drug addiction that the game focuses on.

I mean personally I don't care how well done a sex animation is if it doesn't have the accompanying writing. Personally I'm never a fan of when a sex scene in a game is just animation with no writing to go with it.

Like I said in one of my earlier comments I only meant that from what I played of the game this game isn't one to be downloaded with the expectation of masturbating to sex scenes. I don't know what your goal is, but the impression I get from the game is that it isn't a game that expects the user to masturbate over the sex scenes.

I will be paying more attention so the sex scenes are on par with the rest of the game. I agree with a lot of what you say, and I'm not singling any one person out, However I will say this. The scene where you take Lydia to breakfast and have to pass her test in order it have sex and you can also go down on her before the actual sex scene occurs. Other than maybe the dialogue during the sex part, I'm not really sure what more people what than that. The whole morning was dedicated to romance and showing the depth of that with Lydia and the MC. Also if you had sex with Mary on day 2. That scene also has emotional build up and depth. She even asks to be in control and comes close to telling you she loves you after. So people saying my game has no romance maybe aren't seeing these scenes I'dk. I will admit the stuff in Ch. 3 needs further attention apart for the Audrey Masturbating scene which I quite like. I'll improve this part of the game I can assure you.

So, you are looking for something like, "There girl sits on the bed with the anticipation of x/y/x, when he thrusts his member into her swollen sex, her back arches as she releases a sweet moan of pleasure etc etc.". Cause I can list plenty of games like that on here, and I could even write that if I wanted, but it doesn't really flow with the realism of my game. Is there something that does I would like to find because I want my game to be more erotic, yes, but it's not going to be like some games I can mention. So to further your point if you are looking for a quick fap, no that's not going to be this. Also you got something correct about your post with Barb, that is a setup for something, the sex scene was purposefully impulsive and supposed to be a quickie. If people think there wasn't build to that, that's on purpose, because it was supposed to be like that.

I didn't do it because of comments, I did it because it was something I felt needed to be done, and I asked a couple of devs I trust if they thought the same and they agreed they could be improved. I'm now very pleased with how the writing turned out, and as I said in the future versions, they will be expanded even further. As for what anyone else's opinion of them is, that's for you all to decide.

Like I said it wasn't about the complains it was how I felt the about the level of writing within them verses the rest of the game, the comments might have initially brought that to my attention, but it wasn't why I did it. The animations are not changed, but the writing has been vastly expanded. Someone said the story was too dense, I didn't change that, because I don't agree with them, so this was very much my choice.

The story just pulls you in, the characters are unique and likable and the humor...wether it be as a deffense or just the way they enjoy each others company, is something else, something wonderful. if I may, I don't understand the whole point of describing sex scenes in a VN.
As much as it is logical in a novel because they are only words to portray it but here... You have the images / animations to support, to show the scene and, in addition, the dialogues.
I guess you see what's going on, right? So is it really necessary to describe it in more detail?

Just dropping my two cents here since this is a topic that is dear to my heart, but decently-written colorful narration of the action can go a long way in building and carrying the eroticism of a sex scene. Lot of games have either janky animations or none at all, which personally speaking, doesn't do anything for me without having text to supplement them and give it context. Plus, it just further puts you in the shoes of the main character, which is one of the things VNs have over pornographic movies.

It's also a good tool to help with the pacing of the story. If a game is text dense, and you hit a sex scene and it's only like 8 lines long, it feels pretty jarring in my experience. Sometimes a scene can't be satisfactorily carried just by inane dialogue and "ooohs and aahhs."

His whole comment (masterfully written as always), but especially the portion I quoted, is the precise reason I added what I did. Rather than just those eight lines of text over an animation, I've now weaved insights into what the characters are not only thinking but also feeling, it makes the scenes seem more alive and purposeful to me, not just sex for the sake of sex but an erotic experience, that is also character building. It now brings them in line with the level of prose in the rest of the game.
