VN Ren'Py One Day at a Time [Ch. 18c] [Zoey Raven]

Can somebody who's played this game tell me if there's prostitutions? A core way heroin addicts get their expensive fix is through selling themselves. I didn't see that tag, nor NTR here. What's the plot like?

Nothing like that, that's for sure. No prostitution or NTR in this game.

The plot is a redemption arc for climbing out of addiction, and having fun with ladies along the way. The MC has a main GF and a semi-main GF and several other ladies he gets involved with. Most of the ladies have their own problems with addiction. But, even with all this addiction, the story is uplifting for the MC, the ladies, and we players, and there will be no bad ending for the MC of anyone else.

It's not a harem game, but there will be a throuple ending, which is considered canon.

Read the OP on the first place it says *IMPORTANT in blue.

I had two Renpy experts tear it apart and they both agreed it was not my fault and starting a new save was the only option for the small amount who got this Renpy glitch. I've had that up there since right after the last update.

Not that I mind replay this awesome VN, but if I didn't hit that problem is my save good to go forward or am I going to have problems transitioning to the next season?

Nope, only people who got the error, all other saves we tested were fine. Including my own. Could something like this theoretically happen in the future? It's happened to other games I've modded, but it's not likely. It's not an issue with the game. It's a Renpy load error (when you go to load a save, etc), and has to do with Renpy deleting variables and corrupting the save. Usually backing up one or two autosaves from the beginning of the update takes care of it. But it always seems to only affect a tiny portion of players anyway.

I had AON rip it apart and he's the resident F 95 renpy expert. He even had a few other people look at it. What I mentioned above is what I was told, and we didn't have a single person during the patreon release report anything.

Worst case for people who got the error as I said last update, was get the mod, start a new save, and just use skipping to get back to where you were.

Note: It's a lot more likely to happen to people who are unrening and using the dev console, or using save editor online etc.. But, it can happen in absence of that. This is not just with my game but Renpy in general. People must remember these games are WIP's and while many games may go through their entire development and never have this happen, some do. And other than what I mentioned there is no rhyme or reason for it or an explanation for why so few people are affected.

Special Notes:
This is the last port of season 1 so I've backed off the compression and reprocessed several times to get optimal image quality.
As a resault this is a 2Gb port.
Put your end of season special save/s in page 9 and I will move them for you at the beginning of next season.

I suspect it's not the point of the game, but can the MC be so much of a junkie that he gets everyone else (other than Mary) hooked? Making Barb relapse would be something interesting. I'm on chapter 3 or something.

Not that kinda game, MC's choices are about himself. As it is with all addicts IRL. No one makes anyone use it's a conscious choice. You'll.see as you play one the game start to focus more on the recovery aspect of things.

Thanks, parts of it were very emotional to write as well, because I've become so connected with these characters (MC included). Which is a good thing, but it can pull on the heart stings at times.

The next update will be pretty heavy. Just kinda want to warn you guys in advance. There's a story beat I don't wanna have to do (to the point of trying to talk myself out of it), but feel like I'd be betraying my original vision if I didn't, and that's all I'll say about it.

Good or bad im confident in your writing. If you know what happened in leap of faith it may be some really heartbroken things but its part of its identity and it will reflect on the story down the line.I don't know what will be but I survived leap of faith and my bully is my lover so if it fits its narrative things can be forgiven. And I am sure many will agree with this statement.

Poll Result and Dev Update Announement!

The poll as you can see below this post was pretty unanimous with 95% preferring longer updates like I'm doing now.

Announcement: There will be no dev update this week, since I'll only have two days of work to report on, and that's not worth your time. I will make the first progress update for Ch. 12 on June 29th, I should have a little meat on the bone to inform you about at that point.

Just to let you guys know Ch. 12 will be very emotional. I'm not going to give away more than that, nor am I going to comment about the matter after this post. But it's going to be pretty heavy on the second day, just don't want you to be blindsided in case someone is in a bad spot when it releases.

Hope you guys liked Ch. 11 and I am looking forward to getting back to work on Ch. 12! Thanks for your responses to the poll, for those who participated.

Question, everybody and their MOM is making a VN these days, when I was just modding I knew people who would literally play EVERYTHING that came out. How do you guys even sort through all this stuff now? Especially since there are a lot of them that do one or two updates then disappear?

Figured this was a better question for F 95 as Patreon is not as interactive and seems to be more focused on what they play.

Wait people actually sort this stuff? I've just got a hell folder on my desktop loaded full of like 600 GBs of porn games that I'll mostly never play.

I keep an eye on latest updates. A watch list of all stuff I find interesting. On disk I only have games I get back to from time to time. Otherwise I only keep saves (they are under ~/AppData).
