I can understand those who feel that this chapter was mostly spinning its wheels plot-wise, but it did do what was necessary (resolve the scene in the school bathroom and set up a few plot threads to pursue in the future) and develop some relationships.

I did wonder if indulging Meredith would lead to trouble down the line. We know from Evelyn's vision that she's peripherally involved in whatever her aunt is up to and her aunt holds her back for a private conversation before she goes off to fuck the MC.

1) Zero new content for Isabella branch players
Couple of updates ago, story went through a branch (though not the first); with MC picking either Isabella herself or projection of Anna (movie star).
Picking Anna projection allowed MC for extra dialogue with Anna & Arwen in that said path in one of the previous updates when MC meets them for the first time.
There's also one really chunky event with this most recent update with MC, Evelyn, Anna, & Arwen which further develops their relationship.

Whereas for those who picked the Isabella option, well there has been..... nothing.
No new lines, arcs for players who chose her.

Granted, I have saves for both routes each named "Isabella" "Anna and Arwen" but ngl, I hope you keeps track & soon enough there's event/s & content for Isabella route, evening things out.
Cause otherwise, there doesn't really seem to be much of an incentive for players to pick Isabella's route currently.
The Anna/Arwen/Evelyn scene is a major part of the chapter. Having it depend on (a) the MC going along with coercing a prisoner into sex in chapter ... 1 or 2? and (b) picking that particular shape for the scene makes very little sense. I know it comes up in conversation when he meets the two of them, but there's no reason for that to be the gate-keeper.

There's been no active choice on my playthrough not to pursue Anna and Arwen. It's just a side-effect of a seemingly unrelated choice made long before the MC met either of them.

2) Referencing other games.
I'm someone who when it comes to references or crossover (from other AVNs), prefers things to be very, very subtle. I'm not a fan of frequent referencing or fan service being constantly thrown.
Cause I feel doing so just feels like a distraction and moreso detracts from the experience than adds to it.

Now going into this current update, I felt for some reason this update just contained several referencing of other AVNs either explicitly (literal name dropping) or implicitly (describing the game).
3 or more AVNs get referenced with that watching movies with Lady Steel scene (Eternum, Come Home, Desert Stalker at least), and Chasing Sunsets get frequently mentioned by Anna in her & Arwen's event.

Desert Stalker, I love, and Eternum I do like.
Yet I haven't played Come Home & Chasing Sunsets I wasn't a huge fan of it towards later game.
But regardless of whether I liked the said AVN or not (or whether I played it or not), all these talks about other games, I'm sorry to say, they all just felt like...... distractions.

Jacquesdor, was this done because there was an agreement between you and other devs of those games? Like cross promotion (them agreeing to promote your game within their games and you agreeing to do the same)?
If so, it is what it is, and there's nothing more I can say about that.

But if not, and this was done solely because you're fan of those games, well perhaps I'm in the minority with this (different strokes for different folks I guess) but I hope you ease up on the references with future updates.
Cause for me, they felt a bit too much in this update (and being brutally honest? I'd much rather just focus on your game's storyline than get even a bit distracted by references to other games).
I agree with this. I can ignore the occasional oblique reference, but having it front and center like this is just annoying. Diverts my (very limited) brain power to figuring out which games are being referenced rather than being immersed in the story.

I mean...... Does female cum count ?
Doesn't her power also make other body parts feel like "pussy" ? maybe it will make Mc's body parts feel like his penis ?
I realize the MC does make that comparison (at least with her tits), but I don't think it's so much that her power makes her other body parts feel like pussy, just that during sex her body somehow morphs / accomodates the guy to give him the best possible sensation in order to facilitate her getting cum. And since the pussy is basically designed by nature to milk a cock it's pretty up there on the "feels good" scale, so it would make sense that the sensation is similar.

Now, as for "female cum", no, I doubt it, it seems to be specific to semen. Now, that said, we don't know if pussy juice would work for him since he's male. We also don't know if his own cum would work. Sure, still not ideal and not something your average guy would relish doing, but for eternal youth? ...eh...pretty sure a lot of us would make the sacrifice when we hit the "grunting in pain whenever you have to stand up" or "shit hurts for no fucking reason" phases in life. :ROFLMAO:

Did I miss something 4 chicks he banged but got only one power. Am I correct?
Incorrect. Banged Sapphire and got "Sapphire Power" and banged Anna and, presumably, got Hyperpolyglotism (untested). Technically got sucked off by Lucia but the "superpower transfer cum" was licked off Sapphire and there was too much of a delay so he didn't get time stopping (yet), and...whatever Anna's girlfriend's name is (I can't remember at the moment) doesn't have powers so there's nothing to gain from her... aside from a contact high I guess. :ROFLMAO:

Possibly picked up two, but since they're both branch-dependent chances are they won't be used much in the main story.

(Although Anna's power can easily be referenced with a few lines here and there without requiring extra renders or affecting the plot too much.)

I want the MC to bust out random Swahili during a conversation with Lady Steel. :ROFLMAO:

I think there were at least two more, one was pretty blatant (but only if you played).
Yeah, I only listed the names of AVNs which I could remember, or guess (like with apocalyptic Egypt; that was literally dead giveaway for Desert Stalker, despite it not being named).

I dunno. I don't remember there being other AVNs named or referenced in all the updates till now.
And all of a sudden with this update, there were so many AVNs being named/referenced all at once.
Love the game, and really liked the update still, but I think Jacquesdor went too overboard with it if I'm being honest.

Interestingly, the MC says this, but at the same time we saw possible evidence of an evolution of one of the adopted powers (apparently you get the final scene regardless of whether you engage with arwen (& anna) or not, so even if she has a power, either that's not it or there's a flaw that needs fixing). So if that's true, maybe the requirement will change for MC ... maybe he'll have to start drinking the squirters to take advantage ... plus his power seems to make him god's gift once people get a whiff of him. The rest of her power set seems like it could make that even more of an unfair advantage.

EDIT:

I did have a unique take, but still ...
Haha, sorry.
My theory sort of came as a lightning in a bottle moment after Reniere mentioning female cum, and e6mill mentioning offsetting Lucia's power drawbacks.
It probably wouldn't have come to mind if I didn't see their posts.

I think the whole unexpected nature of the reveal (i.e. the offset) would just add a lot more to the storyline than MC knowing in advance it will offset.
It will make him be cautious of Lucia's abilities hapahzardly.
Though I am interested to see him be pushed to use Lucia's abilities to an extensive period due to an emergency or something.

I think MC just dismissing it has to do with the fact he doesn't even understand the powers he takes and doesn't even think about how they would change towards him. I would think every power that is female based once he gains them. They alter to his body or change to match the Male body.

Lets say (Hopefully there isn't a power where a female can make her clit bigger) it would change to match Mc's body can he can make himself bigger.

Now MC mentioned that Meredith Boobjob felt like he was fucking a pussy so did her mouth but not her ass ( because she still had not learned how to do it yet) Would MC be able to make his fingers and tongue feel like his penis ?
if that is a side-affect of her power.

Would MC get that same side-affect but the male version ?
Yeah.
I have a feeling that even with all these powered individuals, given the power may be tailored to each individual and their sex a power user's understanding of their own abilities may be quite limited based on one's experience.

So unless one goes to a scientist (wink, wink Moonsong :KEK: ), it's unlikely an individual may get the very nitty gritty aspects of their power and the requirement.
But I think in this case, even with it being female ejaculation requirement and the male version side effect, it is better for MC to just experience it and not know in advance; with the added surprise (though with side effect, I guess he may be able to find out over time, but requirement, needing closer examination of his physical age).

So yeah, this is a very interesting theory, which I am curious as to whether Jacquesdor will pursue or not.

The Anna/Arwen/Evelyn scene is a major part of the chapter. Having it depend on (a) the MC going along with coercing a prisoner into sex in chapter ... 1 or 2? and (b) picking that particular shape for the scene makes very little sense. From what I remember, Isabella was previously held with the Sisterhood (don't remember for what reasons, it's been ages since I played the early chapters lol), but from what I remember she was ........ about to be released or something?

The whole Anna and Arwen arc only seems to trigger with player's MC picking Anna projection (instead of Isabella), which leads to MC admitting he fucked Anna projection to Anna and Arwen (when he meets them first time, them doing that whole Evelyn Birthday video for her), and leading to current foursome event between MC, Anna, Arwen, Evelyn.
Choosing Isabella just leads to...... nothing sadly.

I agree with this. I can ignore the occasional oblique reference, but having it front and center like this is just annoying. Diverts my (very limited) brain power to figuring out which games are being referenced rather than being immersed in the story.
Yup.
For example, with Anna & Arwen event, Chasing Sunset get mentioned like 4 or 5 times.
Granted, I have played the game, so I know what Anna is talking about when she mentions "Jaye."
But what about those who haven't played Chasing Sunset and have no clue who Jaye even is?
Anna is talking about Jaye as if it's a major character role, but why should these non-CS players even bother?

The references just felt too on the nose for my liking, and that didn't happen, well until this update.
And as I said, they merely serve as distractions, rather than positives.

Well maybe MC can finally get use for his cum pill which seems useless since Lucia did not take it

Playing this for the first time and I must sat I loved the first sex scene. I was prepared to turn down the entire sisterhood and every other girl that came knocking until the MC got with Evelyn but I absolutely loved the way it was handled , it was perfect.

Right, exactly. I didn't get that event because I didn't go for the initial scene back in chapter whatever, but never played that game and have no clue who those characters are.

There was another very on the nose reference to some harem game or other where I had no idea what the game was talking about or why. Come Home, could that be it? (quick forum search) Yeah, must've been.

Yeah, she's about to be released but doesn't know it yet, and Moonsong tells her that she has to fuck the MC as a condition for her release.

Yeah, the Anna & Arwen event is locked behind choice of picking Anna projection with Moonsong's experiment (in pick either Isabella projection or Anna projection choice).
Basically picking Isabella projection will end those players with 1 less big event they will miss out on in this latest update.

I cam hearing from the game's proofreader that Jacquesdor intends there to be Isabella exclusive event in a future update, so that's something to look forward to.

But yeah, at that Moonsong experiment branch, I decided it would be prudent to have 2 saves (Isablla save / Anna + Arwen save), and I'm honestly glad I did. :WeSmart:

Eternum & Come Home were literally mentioned by name.
I had no clue what Come home even was tbh, but given Eternum gets mentioned first (iirc), and Desert Stalker gets implicitly referred (with the whole "Apocalyptic Egypt" description lol), I had a strong suspicion Come Home was gonna be another AVN.

Don't get me wrong, I love this game (it basically leaves all other Superhero AVNs in dust lol), but these references in this update were just.... too much.
Much preferred how there were no references like previous chapters. Or even if there is any, it should be very subtle, and not on the nose like they were in this latest update.

This is so disappointing to hear. I hate immersion breaking stuff and this sounds like the ultimate immersion breaking possible, with these avns and the characters being brought up a lot.

I am okay with subtle references, like when games have them on a TV or laptop screen, or they have, a line or two, but the way you are describing it, sounds awful and just bad.

I hope the dev sees these posts or someone brings it up and he changes it, or tones it down a lot, but not holding my breath, it's just sounds so stupid, kinda lost my motivation to play this update now, skipped last one to build up content, now this, guess I will skip this update too.

I pretty sure she wasn't going to be released -- at least not so soon -- without Moonsong requesting a reprieve based on cooperation. She specifically says she feels the woman deserved a second chance, implying she's helping to give her one.

As for the "overabundance" of references, that was set up with the visit to the studio. Yes, it was over-the-top in this update, but it's an established part of the world, and maybe there's a reason it was given so much emphasis this time around.

The only actual cameo I know was Jenny from Office Perks (speedster maid), and she was the type of cameo you normally see -- one that doesn't intrude on the story and is just an easter egg for those that recognize the character.

The fact that there was one like this, and all the overt references that we KNOW are from other games because of the set-up in the studio office, does make me wonder if there's a larger point to be made, or if Jdor is just amusing himself.

I understand that, but my point was more that she was going to be stuck in her cell for a lot longer if Moonsong hadn't come up with a reason to give her the opportunity to trade the cell for house arrest.

Let me elaborate further. It all started in the morning, when Evelyn more or less gave the MC carte blanche to do whatever he wanted with her. At first, I was speechless. How could the dev let such a sweet girl make such a far-reaching statement? I wasn't alone in my confusion. Confused, our MC sought out a conversation with Ruth. Basically, she just confirmed what it would lead to.

Since I'm playing with URM, I now came to the point where I was wondering whether or not I could jump into the event you described. For me, the variable was set to FALSE, but out of curiosity, I pressed SELECT anyway. What I saw then only disturbed me even more. Even though it was her own decision, she was reduced to a sexual object of desire and used.

Sorry guys, but Evelyn really didn't deserve that. I replayed the update and skipped this event. I've set a marker for future updates to stop using Evelyn in this regard.

My decision!

The thing is though, visit to the studio was like two chapters or so ago?
Even that part and meeting Anna & Arwen scene, I don't really remember there being such references being used.
This update was the first which basically had me thinking "Jesus, there's A LOT of references."

And when that sort of reaction is made by the players, it's a clear sign that subtlety is thrown out the window; for what reason, noone knows.
It could be as you've said, Jdor is amusing himself.
Or it could be that he's in some kind of cross promotion with devs of all these other games (they promote Jdor's Origin story somehow in their games, and Jdor promotes theirs etc etc), Or Jdor could simply be huge fans of these games and wanted to pay respect to them.
Or some other unknown reason.

Yet at the end of the update, few words I can use to describe the references with this update;

"distraction"
"bombardment"

Now, don't get me wrong.
I still really enjoyed this update (as said in my initial post), and I maintain my stance that Jdor is a great writer, with his writing for his story & characterization being always consistent since this game's beginning.

Yet, this overabundance of references felt jarring in my eyes and was a slight drawback regarding my enjoyment of it despite how good the update was (even though it had less of my favorite parts; i.e. Lady Steel and Sisterhood. They took more of a backseat).
For instance, with this game's original premise with Superheroes being celebrities, it's clear that there's reference and inspiration from The Boys (well, the Seven from The Boys, to be exact) Amazon TV series.
Yet the way Jdor went about it was very subtle and not blatant.
Nor did the reference go overboard.

Now, I don't know what Jdor's intent was regarding all those references in this update, but I dunno, I feel that subtle approach feels lost at least in that regards.

Not everyone played Chasing Sunset and knows Jaye the main LI.
And not everyone played Come Home and knows what that game is even about. So when game starts to mention these other games and their characters, it's no surprise people will either get confused or scratch their heads if not annoyed.

That Speedster Maid being a character design from another game actually does feel like a more subtle approach.
