The only variable tied to that scene is the "funds" variable which deducts money if you give her some. JDOR would have to go back and add a variable to it to call later. I don't know enough about renpy to know if that's an issue. The only other place it's used is when you first grab money and when you purchase Cat's 'services'. I am 99% sure that scene exists purely as a mechanism to get you to miss the full Cat scene later if you decide to be a nice guy.
If he doesn't modify that variable in another way, he's free to query it and set a "nice_guy" flag to 1, and then add in a surprise (or even a major plot twist with a new power) later on. Lots of possibilities depending on how that variable is or isn't touched.
That's why I sometimes choose not to play the nice guy in AVNs - they usually get less lewd content. It's a more wholesome story sure, and sometimes that's really fun. But being the bad guy can be fun all it's own, for obvious reasons. Glad I know now how to trigger Cat's full scene, since it was worth it.

In this case, it's a bit mixed: Being generous in that situation locks you out of the full scene with Cat, being a decent human being during the scene with the prisoner locks you out of Anna/Arwen (as well as further content on the other branch, if that's ever added).
But with Lucia on the other hand, I see a lot of people in this thread claiming that being forgiving leads to the better path (I don't agree, but to each their own), so it's not like a 100% rule.
The MC in this is not a full-on villain, but in some choices morally questionable behaviour is rewarded.

I'm in the middle of a 2nd playthrough right now, specifically to see Lucia's love path (choice should come up soon). And you know - having seen her twice in two plays, and just having re-read all her text and seeing what she does again... I'm literally considering on following the corruption path again. She's the biggest cunt I've seen in an AVN outside of some literally crazy bitches. Insults from her in nearly every sentence, shallow, vapid, self-serving, self-righteous.. can't throw enough things out to describe how vile she is. She even plays a nasty prank on a new girl for pointing out everything wrong with Lucia (and rightly so).
And so I don't get why anyone would even give her the possibility of some type of redemption arc. She's been doing what she's done for years now. Did someone fuck with her a while back? Maybe, from what I've heard. Does that justify several years worth of her being the absolute worst human in the school? Not likely. And she's only talking to the MC to get the Sisterhood to make her look cooler or more popular at a party.
I mean really - knowing that about her, why would anyone give her a chance at all? I wouldn't piss on her if she was on fire to put it out. I'm thinking it may be a waste of time playing the game just to see an arc where she's given a chance. I don't think she deserves it.

Based on the way his metagene adapts other powers to be able to coexist with its primary function (fuck every girl whose power he can collect), even if he obtained her invisibility it would change that passive power to one he can control. It would be a lot harder to attract a girl if she can't see him, after all.
I have a theory that Amber's transient visibility is a result of MC's power also. If he can't see her how can he know if he's trying to stick his dick in her mouth or her ear? He gets frisky with her, she gets aroused enough to be receptive to him so his power dampens her invisibility to let him complete the act, which hasn't happened to completion so far. That would mean that not only can his ability alter a power he absorbs so it doesn't interfere with his poon hunting but can alter the ability of a girl whose power might prevent him from normally being with her. Whether it's a temporary nullification or maybe she learns how to control it once she's experienced it would be interesting to see.
Not in the least, not in my mind. She could be mean back to just that one person, but she's been a cunt to everyone except those who kiss her ass (the bitch squad).
I will probably grit my teeth and give it a go anyway. Can't say I replayed just for two additional scenes elsewhere in the game. But it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

My idea is that MC's metagene is mercenary. It has a prime directive: duplicate a power if the sex partner has one, and if anything about the power either inhibits the likelihood of getting more powers or can to be adapted to facilitate getting more powers then it alters it to fit MC. Meri's power has a lot of ramifications, the main fountain of youth aspect which (probably) doesn't need to be changed and the body adaptations to make orgasm of the partner more likely. If the fountain of youth only worked when swallowing semen then it would likely be changed since MC isn't likely to be sucking much dick but that is still undetermined if it got changed for women's sexual fluids; MC seems to think it did. MC isn't going to give tit jobs to a girl so the "make cleavage feel like a vagina" gets dropped and the vibrator tongue gets activated. I think his fingering got enhanced also based on Ruth's response when he was doing her. Ruth's strength gets switched to on-demand from always-on since it wouldn't do for MC to turn the insides of a girl he's fucking into a smoothie before she can cum. Whether the power comes from a pill or sex doesn't matter to the metagene.
Again, my theory is not that Amber suddenly can become visible when she's sexually stimulated (she became visible before she had any orgasms, once was just from kissing). She masturbates a lot by herself and even in the room with MC and Ev going at it and never showed, so that's not the likely trigger. She never lost consciousness until they went to sleep and she was still visible then for at least a little while. She doesn't become visible until MC engages in sexual activity with her and actually starts thinking about having sex; we had an earlier scene where he wasn't thinking that and she didn't show up. She also stays visible for awhile after they go to sleep, but in the morning she's invisible again. That points to whatever MC did to her to nullify her ability while he was considering having sex with her wore off after it got out of their systems.
All this talk about whether Amber's orgasms and/or excitement or MC's power are what caused her to become visible, but I think there's a missing element that's being ignored: Her emotional state. My guess is it's going to be more about her own feelings and learning to activate and maintain the feelings she needs consciously, rather than needing to rely on his metagene in some artificial way in the end. At least, for me that would be the better solution, rather than her basically having to be a slave to some chemical cocktail Moonsong creates. Not that that would be a BAD solution, just feel it wouldn't be as good for Amber if her future was literally tied to the MC, rather than just emotionally.
The final scene with her does cover that in a way. She's basically been falling for him since they met, and that turned into raging jealousy, along with all the other feelings of hate and rejection and masking her old personality. I think the offer is one part wanting him and one part trying to hurt Evelyn in a new way.

It doesn't look like there is any tracking for whether or not you give the homeless girl money. No matter how much you have the funds variable gets set to zero after you tell Lady Steel to guard the door for you and nothing gets set if you do give her something or not. The homeless girl's name in the code is "homeless" so I doubt she's going to show up again other than as a side character with minimal interaction.
Something I think would be interesting is if the reason MC was created was to make a way for people to control their powers. Like using his expression of various powers in a toggle-able state to then create a cure for those powers being in a constantly active state. Create a gene therapy or vaccine or something.
Highly unlikely, but it would be interesting and I only thought of it due to recent posts

The difference I see is that MC touching/engaging with Amber while they are both aroused is what triggers her visibility. If my theory holds his ability is shutting down her ability and even knowing that will let her grasp that it's possible. This may help her to figure out how to turn it off with Georgia's perspective and assistance, just like Georgia helped MC figure out how to turn on his strength. Georgia will probably have them recreate their night of passion to see if she can guide Amber to control of her visibility. I don't think Amber's going to need to take something from Georgia's lab on a regular basis, unless Moonsong's medical orders are "take one injection of hot semen from MC twice a day".

I agree with this take. It feels like we will learn that amber has always felt invisible. Whether it's because she has low self esteem, felt she lacked connection with everyone else, or even if she felt neglected. Amber probably has always felt invisible, then she manifested. And now she was literally invisible instead of just figuratively.
Don't forget that Amber was completely honest with the MC when she turrned visible. Not just about her feeelings for him but also with trying to kill herself. I believe the key will be Amber being completely honest with herself about all her mental and emotional issues. Only then will she be able to control her power.
I think one of the issues with speculating how things work in this game is that so far very little time has actually passed in universe since MC awakened to his powers.
Not only that, but MC hasn't actually copied that wide a variety of powers yet.
Ruth's power is so far the only "self destructive" power he's copied, and it got changed to be safe for MC. Not even 24 hours have passed in world since he got her powers.
We have no idea how MCs power copying powers effects the powers of those he copies from.
It's said that MC has an evoled version of Ev's power, and the question is raised as to whether or not her power has evolved also.
It's entirely possible that not only will MC start to evolve the powers he copies, but so too will those he copies from.
An evolved Ruth might get to keep the degree of strength and healing she already had but suddenly be able to toggle her strength and durability on and off.
Just went to replay to see some optional paths, and I can't figure out how to screw Cat instead of getting a BJ in the bathroom stall. I made sure to take more money than I needed earlier in the game, but it's still blocking that option. Is that something that happens later in the story, or did I somehow mess up the choices to that point?
Ahhhhhh. I had always thought the homeless person might have a hook later in the game, and the handout might open up some special path or power. It might still, but I can see how that would affect his funds. Thanks for the tip, gonna rollback and fast forward, cheers.

never looked into that particular one as I managed to figure it out without help early on, but in that case you're probably right. Though some of the coding is weird in this game like the string values he uses for certain things.

If you use Cat's services, no matter how much funds you have beforehand (100, 90, 50, or 40) or which option you choose with Cat (BJ or sex), funds are set to 0 afterwards. So unless JDOR retroactively adds a variable to track the homeless woman, which would require someone to start a fresh playthrough, there's no way to reliably reverse engineer what someone chose with the homeless woman if they also pay for any of Cat's services, except that someone who has sex with Cat definitely did not give money to the homeless woman. But for people that chose a BJ, the MC could have either given funds to her or not given funds and there would be no way to know.
Hypothetically, if someone doesn't use Cat's services, he could check if you have 100, 90, 50, or 40 funds and reliably determine your homeless woman choice from that. But the vast majority of readers are going to pay for Cat.

Yeah, she directly says that she's had a crush on MC for about two years and while at first the idea of "stealing" him from Ev was part of the motivation, over time it changed to just wanting to be with him.

Also, regarding Marina, Lucia later tells MC she feels really bad for taking out her frustration with her dad from that morning on Marina and plans to apologize to her personally soon.
Obviously, you learn all of this only after giving her a chance. But at least for me, the payoff is totally worth it.

I've actually started down the redemption/love/etc path for Lucia, though I only just now passed asking Ev about it, and she denied any history. Rather than read what you generously posted (I'll come back to it later), I'll just play out Ch7 and learn firsthand. I've no doubt I'll re-post feelings afterwards about it - I can't imagine how horrible an act someone could have done to Lucia to warrant 3+ years worth of abuse to everyone around her. It'd be on the order of murder as far as I can tell, to twist someone that far. We'll see.

I think that's the best approach. I've only shared details here to try to convince people that aren't interested in the path to give it a try, or that want to know her backstory without replaying. But the writing really hits best when you go into that scene blind.
I've edited my last post to emphasize this again. Thanks for the reminder!

I do actually agree that he'll probably have been "created" ... what I'm afraid of is he was created to then be used to create an ultimate anti-metagene vaccine ... one that adapts to the metagene, as fast as it can adapt. Although I find it hard to believe the Parker that told that story about the doctor is the one trying to do that.
I like your theory better. Something like the mutated power in MC that's more controllable can then be somehow given back to the original source in its new form, "curing" those with uncontrollable powers like Amber and Ruth without taking the power away.
