MC spent all of his summers and weekends with Parker and Riley to get away from his abusive and inattentive adoptive parents and has lived the last year there, so he and Ev have been close friends for 7 years. Not exactly childhood but close enough.
If my memory is right, they've had ~6 years together growing up. Since he's just now 19 (?), I'd call 13-ish their childhood, yep. 1/3 of their formative years while both teens is enough for me to consider them childhood friends.
If I remember right, Ev was 12 the summer her mom died and she relocated, and turned 13 a bit later that school year. So yeah, a little over 6 years is about right.

I guess it's one of those cases where it's a lot easier to see something from the outside. You're looking at it from a different perspective to everyone else, and even when they say "she's into you", you brush it off and say "no she's not, don't be silly, we're just friends..." Happens all the time until one of you actually admits it to the other in some way (words or actions).

I went corruption route with that bitch - haven't seen normal/good route with her. I know what her situation is, and it doesn't really matter when she treats literally everyone around her like dirt, 24/7, and has for years. I mean to break her and have her as a sub, so she knows what feeling lesser is like for a change.

He doesn't really get better, up until the end of Chapter 8 when Lady Steel has her fight with Chokehold. Unfortunately it's too little too late for us. Maybe he'll grow a spine in later Chapters.
He does so as a kid, when he's up against bullies, yes. But I also got the feeling with him that he could have taken a much more active role (physically in particular) with the story.
Yeah its understandable still a little dense when she literally lets mc creep on her and do a whole photoshoot and keeps her virginity for mc when she can literally sleep with anyone [even mc acknowledges that i think] but yeah understandable

and what power should he have used, pray tell. He saw the whole fight and the "conversation" with Ruth. Wolf is useless. Cat's is useless and he can't even use it consciously yet. Emerald's is useless (he only does it out of desperation at the end as he is about to die and then only accidentally finds her weak spot). He could blast her in the face and Chokehold would shrug it off. The outcome would have been the same in any case.
well mc being a dumb idiot allows the dev to push the story in any direction they want without worrying about one more variable to think about.
It happens in chapter 1 with Kyle in the park. He confronts 3 guys who he knows are big time bullies (and bigger/stronger than him) to stop them beating the shit out of that kid; they beat the shit out of him too for his trouble. Then after the survivors run away he goes and sits with Mr. Thermonuclear Device, knowing he could get killed the same way as the bully, and calms him down until what he thinks the good guys come to help him. He also stands up to the most popular bitch in school who he knows can cause him misery to help out a total stranger, and then steps up again with a teacher and the dean to help her out.
