It's like locking up the tide pods. A "Do Not Eat" warning for those not firing on all pistons. Seriously, I don't think your average player here is self-aware enough to have any understanding of personal agency. They experience some slight cognitive dissonance, and then proceed to convince themselves that what they willingly did themselves is somehow your fault.
Out of character? Doesn't "fit" into the game? Give me a break. It's optional. You control what the MC does. You are the character. You could have walked away. You had checkpoint after checkpoint asking if you were sure. You literally had to click on "insert dick" and you
did it anyway. YOU, as a player, are the rapist, not the MC. This is not a rape game, if you don't want it to be. That's literally what optional content means.
It's entirely your choice what type of role you want to play in this game.
Additionally, the reviews that give you low scores that focus specifically on this optional scene are actually breaking the review policy:
"Your review shouldn't be solely focused on your feelings about a specific genre or detail of the game." It's rule #5. Which is what these reviews are clearly doing, and this is a general rule. It's even more ridiculous when it's in response to optional content. People should report these reviews.
Wait for content you like instead of trying to get optional content you don't like removed. There are actually people here telling the dev to alter the optional content and change it to something they like instead. Pure
selfish narcissism. You are trying to gaslight the dev into thinking your "constructive criticism" is helping them, when in reality you just want to influence the direction of the game to not include rape. You don't actually care if it's optional.

Do not let these people bully you into removing optional scenes. If you add the tag, then it makes it clear that this is a game that has rape. You've fried a lot of horny cumbrains that were hoping for instant fap gratification with that scene. Making it the first lewd scene in the game was probably a mistake.
This is your full time job, and honestly this pushback is so overblown, and not really warranted. It's your game, and you shouldn't feel pressured by bad faith actors to change it. Period. If it's optional, people can disagree about it, like they are in this thread, and like in any other game, but they should not be able to ruin your games review rating and visibility on this site with 1-2 star review bombs as a result of
optional and clearly telegraphed choices
that they made themselves.
