This might be me wishful thinking, but maybe it's a plan in the far future for something more? It would be a waste not to consider further content, even though they are moving on to an Our Life 2.
It really feels like a test run, and if I'm not mistaken, it's their first sexual content, so they probably wanted to do something light for the first go. (And as was stated, it does fit Cove and the situation, we can't expect two teenage dummies to be porn stars and start crawling up the walls on their first go). I would think it's a big missed opportunity to not have actual intercourse (though, you know, it's what most anti-penetrative sexually active people are perfectly fine with, so technically, virginity loss
), but also, given that this last arch is going to involve a marriage (possibly, for me, I'm waiting for Cove to propose to me, 'bout time the boy takes initiative), maybe Cove/Developers are saving the "Great Merging" for marriage?
Though, given their reluctance to add this adult content with the main game, it leaves me to believe further exploration will with be an "imagine it/fade to black/ending screen" assumption, or another detached DLC; the issue is, will they continue to give Cove extra attention for another (adult)DLC, once Part 2 start taking off?
I find it odd they didn't just Go Big or Go Home with this one, considering the demo of Stage 4 have the option to live with Cove, and I can't imagine two 20 somethings, who are madly in love, and is living together, and maybe/possibly did what they did in the Adult DLC (which is timelined before Stage 4), won't keep banging and learning from then on out??? I'm just going to assume Stage 4 will explain the dynamic, if a bit censored.
