Eva, Iris or Nat..................
Natasha makes the most sense IMO, she's the least influenced by the choices the player makes in GGGB. With Eva and Iris EvaKiss would give a "canon" version of the character if they appeared. Yes, she did that with Jessica, but she also made the meta joke about it when Ian is tripping on mushrooms (very good scene, by the way). Nat would also bring the experience of a healthy open relationship into ORS, which could give the MC's some ideas...
No, seriously, how long? I don't believe any developer would take a whole year just for a single update.
Chapter 9 remastered came out in april this year.

It's a year between ch. 9 and 10, but she didn't spend all this time on ch. 10. After ch. 9 she took a break and then made a remaster of the first 9 chapters. Only after that she srtated ch. 10 work

So that makes it 6 months for an update (so far)? 7 if we assume a release in November? I guess I'll go in a hybernation for another month like I usually do XD

How many lines of code did chapter 9 have? So, uhm, what's left is the difference in length between Chapter 9 and Chapter 7, and then some more.

I'm gonna be honest, this doesn't sound like a November release either. If I had to take a guess, I'd say December maybe. Then again, I don't know the difference between Chapter 7 and 9, so maybe it's not that much?
Ch 5 which was used to describe Ian side of the story, in early July, had 12 250 (I will round the number up a bit)
Ch 7 had 23 650
Ch 9
had 21 677
This is just an opinion, but i think that Ch10 will have around 24 000 - 25 000 lines in total. However, you can't use this number to calculate the release window. Ian side of the story took another 2 months to be finished (after the July announcement) and unless the chapter is really unbalanced, the total length didn't grew; it's still ~12k. Another ~12k for Lena and that's about it.

Tbf, anything less then 3 updates worth of content should be considered a blatant failure since ch. 10 had a dev cycle of over a year, that's IF it gets released at the end of Nov.. Given it's taken 3-4 times as long as a normal chapter it SHOULD be huge (or frankly "normal size" for that amount of time)..
If you expect "3 updates worth of content", you will be disappointed. It's quite clear from all the updates, that the chapter won't be any different in size, compared with the last 3 updates.
"I can't assure if the length of a single play-through will be longer though, since a lot of the content is mutually exclusive"

Considering that after the remaster, all the saves are gone, if you didn't spent time to remake them, you might actually end up with a shorter :( playthrough in this update.

hopefully that holds to be true, the remaster was said to change a LOT about the game but look at how that turned out... I'll still keep my expectations low regarding the amount of content we'll get but no doubt the quality and writing will be top notch as always.
We will see. I want to find out what this really means: "every single scene is layered and plays out in a variety of ways" and "the hardest one to write thus far, for several reasons, one of them being it's mechanical complexity". After the alpha is out, I will draw my own conclusions about the complexity of chapter 10 (compared with the others). Until then, I will expect an update that is slightly bigger than the average, that will be released around Christmas. Maybe end of November, if the writing is finished in the next 3 weeks.

The problem, of course, is the height of the fall. The longer the update lasts, the higher the expectations of the players. But experience shows that it is usually a proverbial shot backwards.
I would appreciate more Ian content. More interactions and sex with the ladies. Maybe also a little teaser of what will happen between him and Ivy in the future.

Real talk now folks: has anyone ever thought of the possibility that these "status reports" are just stalling tactics to keep getting money and the game is already a finished topic for the developer?
Serious proposal: let's write conspiracy theories only after we see what chapter 10 it's like. It's easy to hate the dev now, when we don't know the extent of her work. I think it's better if we don't write stuff that we might regret later, if chapter 10 proves to be the best chapter to date and totality worth the wait.

P.S. I also have a conspiracy theory, but like I said, I don't want to write it down now. It will generate too much hate, considering that it involves another dev, beside Eva.

i really wish the recycling of characters wold just stop, i know eva is trying to pull a tarantino but most of the characters dont even have the depth required for it, i specially dont want it to be Iris, wich was just one of the most forgettable characters in gggb.
I for one think if she's already going to start making more connections between GGGB and ORS then she shouldn't be worrying too much on the fetishes and sex scenes being too similar to GGGB

If you (and other users here) don't like the remastered version or think it was unnecessary that's fine. Hell, I'm the last person to judge it since the current version is the first and only one I have played. But ignoring EK worked on that until april and expecting one year's worth of content from chapter 10 is ridiculous.

On another note: The dev report confirms those users here (including me, I might add) saying updates will take longer because all the choices the player can make mean more and more paths and scene variations ergo more work for the dev.

Because Jeremy is the worst written and managed. But by all means, try to make it out that the only reason I am complaining about Jeremy is that he is black. -Good job, good effort there kiddo- Can we get a big round of applause for his guy here folks?
I'm 'kiddo' only in your wildest fantasies, daddy. How did your appeal for a circle jerk big round of applause go; was it everything you expected it would be?

Ian has some little to few hiccups and could do with some better writing I'll admit, Axel has issues as well (mainly that he is a possible rapist and is coincidentally involved with apparently everything), Mike has no issues other than if you let Lena chase after him, as to which is entirely optional and doesn't affect the story that much.
Ian can cheat; Axel can be a reprehensible antagonist; Mike can cheat.

How Jeremy is the most flawed and gets the least amount of punishment compared to say Ian. Jeremy fucks around, get caught lying, and what are the consequences? Either you stay mum and have Lena tell him to talk it out with Louise or they break up. Now, does that talk ever happen or get mentioned? Not at all. It's glossed over in place of the imfamous drinking game and of course if we decide to not take part, of course Jeremy rather than play it safe and smart (drunk or buzzed) he decides to be the horn dog dumbass and sticks to the stereotypical black guy player kink in all of porn.
I think you have accidentally watched far too much cuckhold porn. I don't think of Jeremy as a 'stereotypical black guy player'. I think Jeremy is well-written because as a confident person (bartender interacting with people all night long), physically fit and therefore attractive (gym, MMA), easy-going friend (interactions we have seen) he gets opportunities because of these attractive traits.

Moreover, I think you are insinuating that the character of Jeremy is a racist stereotype. I believe you would see your folly if you imagined Jeremy as an easy-going, confident, bartending, fit, white guy who was cheating - then you wouldn't be upset because white people were being negatively portrayed. That would sound weird, no? Like you sound to me.

Ian on the other hand: If you just so happen to kiss Holly while also being interested in Lena, oh yeah Lena grills you and goes overtop with her rage. Chase after Cindy and get caught by your "bro" Jeremy? Oh yeah the dumbass has the audacity to say "we need to come clean to Wade" if he too just so happens to still be with Louise. Like excuse me hypocrite who is fucking Alison and is still trying to hook up with Ivy while you still kinda in a relationship with another girl...
Seems reasonable. Has absolutely nothing to do with Jeremy being black. Which is my point.

I think we all can agree that 2022 was a bad year for ORS, but let's relax for a second. This developer has produced more content than most others in this particular genre of games, and for a handful of well known creators this would even apply to their combined content released within the past ~5 years. This is Eva's second project, and she's always been very productive. Add to that the fact that Eva's renders are custom made and hand drawn, while the majority of developers out there use premade and already existing assets from DAZ Studio etc. Not only that, but her writing and storytelling are also on a whole 'nother level if compared to most creators.

I recommend for you to take a look at other developers like Gumdrops, ICSTOR, Lust&Passion and recently stoperArt, just to name a few. You might not be familiar with their projects, but if you were to follow any of these developers and their projects, you would have a much different view on things over here, I can tell you that much.

Granted, Chapter 10 has been a massive downhill ride from previous releases in terms of development time, and something is definitely going on seeing how terribly slow things are going this year, but you are going way over board with your statement considering what Eva has provided to her supporters and this community over the past few years. I think it's way too early to pull the "milking" card. Everyone can have a bad year. Now, if things don't change for the better in 2023, I might shift my opinion, but not today and not the way you've put it.

Chapter 10 weekly status report (11)
Hey guys,

I'm writing this post for the second time because Patreon excellent website decided to erase it as I was about to publish it

After seeing the result of the last poll and reading your comments, the choice to make is obvious: Chapter 10 will be released when both Ian and Lena's parts are completed.

I really wanted to give you guys something to play this summer, and I'm feeling the need to release some content asap, but I'll have to be patient and keep working consistently until the full chapter is done. As weeks go by the pressure of development gets hard to handle, knowing I'm keeping you waiting for new content, and being aware of the amount of work and multiple tasks that are on my to-do list before this next chapter is completed. That's the main reason I've been staying away form work-related social media lately, since it helps me manage the anxiety and focus my energy on developing the game. I apologize if that causes some of your messages or answers to go unanswered, but I'll keep posting these weekly updates and answering your comments down below.

This week I've been thoroughly play-testing Ian's part, revising texts, choices, game logic and creating finishing the needed artwork and graphical assets. Normally I hate going over my work, but in this case I'm even enjoying it, so I think the chapter so far is coming along rather nicely, and hopefully you'll enjoy it too when it's out! I wanted to try some new things, scenes and game mechanics, and there are some new character interactions you haven't seen thus far. Also, some new characters will make an appearance, and you might be familiar with some of those...

Interesting how she posted the exact same teaser on her "Weekly" status report from August 23. Would be nice to have a teaser that's actually new

I don't think that the failure of other developers excuses the failures of Eva. "Whataboutism" is not the answer.

This game had a constant release schedule of an update per month. That single month turned into 3 months. Then into 5 months. Then we got a pointless rework which took another 5 months and now, it's 6 months (and counting). I think we are far from "just a bad year" and I think people are free to criticize this game as much, if not more, than they currently are.

I will not get into this whole "Milking" accusations because I do not think this is the case. I simply think the Developer has continuously failed to deliver.

This here is key. By no means would I say this year has been "bad" or Eva is "milking" (new flash, she ain't.) The issue stems from the who pointless rework that again no one asked for it. Now she's trying to get back on track with the story and at the same time there are things going on in her life (writers block, personal stuff, taking much need vacations-which I don't have issue with we all deserve a break to clear our heads-same with devs). Yeah it sucks that we are almost to November and all we got this year was the pointless Rework. I think that once Chapter 10 drops we will get back into the regular build cycle of 3-4 months for updates, although I do hope Eva does consider extending her build to 5 months. That way it would give her some leway and not force her to push out updates and maybe it will help her write better and branch things more throughly.

And while I certain, most obviously, have my reasons and issue with Eva and the game, I'm not without saying that I see that she is indeed working hard, but really outta plan things out a bit more and actually get some feedback on things before going all half cocked with reworks that have been entirely pointless.

Well, you are right when you say that "Whataboutism" isn't the answer, but that wasn't really my intention. I'm just saying if someone's accusing EK of "milking", this someone should take a look at certain other developers and then come back here. That'll likely make them realize that what's going on can hardly be called milking, especially not seeing that EK is already working on her 2nd game, continuously pumping out top-notch content. She's even stopped charging her Patrons at one point for taking a break. Something barely any developer would do. (I guess that still kind of is "whataboutism", lol. I don't know how else to put it)

That being said, I totally agree that something is going terribly wrong in the current development cycle, and whatever it is, it started pretty much after Chapter 8. Like you said, development time has been ramping ever since. I don't know if Eva is just burned out or what, but what I personally am hoping for is that whatever it is that's holding her back will hopefully be resolved next year, which is why I said that everyone can have a bad year. And again, if that's not the case and things only get worse or stay the same, I will certainly shift my opinion into something much more negative. But for now, I wanna believe that Eva just had a bad year.

Cheers!

inb4 she releases Ch.10 and people who only play a single playthrough say it's too short why it took this long.

I can already see it happening.

I have no problem because I try every possibilities every releases.
It looks like Eva is trying to work with the game like DrPinkCake, make a game with multiple possible paths and high replay value. Although it is very difficult for her, it is clear that the project has become very hard for her. That's why she hired help.
In any case, I have saved all the road options except Alison.
