patreon is meant to support artists creating content
it's not related to a finished product, that's how kickstarter works
VN games work well with patreon because they can be released in episodes

if ORS updates are taking longer to create because its complexity is increasing, than it's fine and unavoidable
at the end of the day, the patrons themselves will decide if the artist is worth supporting or not

People are "supporting artists creating content" not for the sake of supporting them, but because they want to see or experience a product of that creativity, better yet a finished product. Very few people pay money to developers just so those developers could eat, sleep and be creative at something. They want something for their money.
For example, would people support a game on Patreon, if they knew that it is going to be abandon in a couple of months? I doubt that. They want a completed game, not instantly, but eventually.

I hope you are right and the complexity of new updates is a real reason behind delays and a lack of productive activity on Eva Kiss's Patreon. But as far as I remember, back then when Eva was making GGGB there was a strict schedule that she followed even though later updates were much more complex than earlier ones. Such delays are something new.

The problem is, this situation is nothing new. We can find many games, such as Milfy City or Female Agent, where it took more and more time for developers to release new updates (or they created an illusion they had been working on the game by posting useless crap but actually doing nothing) until those games turned into milking machines that suck cash from their patrons.

It is a common situation on Patreon when hard work brings success, success brings money and money brings laziness and complacency.

I like how being the type of person to give the benefit of the doubt to a reliable and pretty much top-tier creator is "white-knighting". Everyone has the same amount of information, we literally just believe different things based off of it. It's kinda clear that these "debates" are more about putting people down or showing everyone your high IQ then really figuring something out.

like I said before, my guess is that this update is taking so long because it has something to do with Stan's character. if she's going to change his character then she needs to change everything back to chapter 1, at least I'm hoping that's reason behind this delay, not posting his Card and what she said about explaining everything when chapter 9 drops.
Yeah Stan still has a really big question mark. I do have a question for everyone here though, if Eva changes Stan to be very different from how he currently is will that take away the reasoning fans like him so much?

I guess that depends on how she changes him. I'm not a massive fan of Stan but I don't hate him - he's amiable enough, intelligent enough, and has some common sense; there are simps and white knights out there that are a lot worse in their obsessiveness around a beautiful woman, and he's toned down in comparison (despite that one voyeur scene). Would I ever have him fuck Lena? hell no, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy his character as a friend to her. I think current Stan strikes an acceptable balance for the type of character he was written as.
It does make me wonder how Eva might change him, if she does indeed change him.
I really like this game, but would anyone else have preferred just another female protag game?
I find there's not enough good FMC games out there, Good girl gone bad was easily the best female protagonist game, and one of the best in general to ever be posted on here.
Well IMO considering how well Eva has written Ian so far (versus how she's written Lena), I'd say no, I wouldn't have preferred another female protagonist game. But that's my personal taste - I much prefer Ian, and that's only increased on replaying.
That being said, it would be nice if there were more female MC adult games with this kind of storytelling (quality writing), sexiness, and realism. Most FMC games don't really do it for me because the MC usually ends up being some gorgeous airhead with an oversized rack and little else going for her. I like MCs with interesting personalities I can get invested in.

Me! I really couldn't give two hoots about the male protag, to be honest, I basically rush through that content to get to the female mc stuff. But it is what it is I suppose. If Eva turned off the male protag right now I would be happy as a dog with two tails

I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum where I enjoy Ian content so much more than Lena content, though I don't skim through Lena content too much.

I think it is unlikely that Stan would be changed without any forewarning (based on Wade and Alison), but if he is getting redesigned I wonder if perhaps it is a reaction to the criticisms of Lena not having any good romantic interests. So maybe he was made into a more viable boyfriend option.

Stan reminds me of those hentai comics where the girl gets fucked by a fat and nerdy man, at least in Japanese porn I've seen that fetish before. It's often a plot device through which the author degrades the female protagonist. So far I have not been super interested in Stan as a character on its own, but it was interesting to try and make Lena's route lean towards him.
If Eva didn't show a card for him, then maybe she's gonna change him drastically? If that's true, she's definitely taking a risk. You can't please everyone after all. But we shall see...

I'm the complete opposite actually, it also helps that Ian reminds me of Dave from GGGB (and Ian clearly has the superior LI's IMO).
