When you say she's hurting Holly, that's a matter of opinion, depending on what kind of person you want Holly to be. If you want her to be sweet and relatively pure, well then I agree with you. But if you want her to be more outgoing, sexier and a lot more confident, then I don't agree with you at all. Under Ivy's influence, Holly seems reasonably happy. She's probably not going to write fantasy novels anymore, but she's certainly getting plenty of experience to move into erotic fiction. She's seems to have gotten over her crush on Ian, and is now obviously able to stand up to her parents and not have them dictate what she can or cannot do. Maybe Ivy is making her sluttier, but that could work for her, if she does cross over into erotic fiction. Particularly, if she starts copying Ivy and Lena, by posting sexy pics on Peoplegram, and develops a much larger social media following.
Jeremy is definitely not the right person for Ivy, because he just isn't ambitious enough. Ivy wants to be successful, and I don't see her settling for anyone else who isn't. Yeah, she'll probably hook up with him eventually, but she's hardly the kind of girl who's going to be overly impressed by Jeremy's big cock, which is pretty much the only thing he has going for him. But she's not going to settle down with anyone, anytime soon. If she did, it would have to be an open relationship. I can't see her settling for any situation, where she couldn't continue to play the field.
And I don't think anyone can really change Ivy, except Ivy herself. The only person who as any real influence over her, is Lena. Because she obviously loves Lena, or at least as close to loving someone as Ivy can get. But it's fairly clear that Lena doesn't want to change her, and accepts Ivy for who she is, even though sometimes that can be quite frustrating.
I wasn’t really talking about Holly as much as I was focusing on Ivy and whether she should be seen as a more negative character in terms of influence and actions, possibly even one of the main antagonists. I was responding to someone who had placed Ivy in that category.
As for Holly, I’m fine with either of her routes. I don’t only go for the “pure” character paths in the game. That said, I think it’s worth discussing. While Ivy might help Holly open up sexually and even enjoy herself in the process, I’m not sure that such abrupt and radical methods are really good for her.
Holly is very innocent and impressionable. You can clearly see how easily she gets pulled into everything, with very little resistance. Sure, you could argue that she’s getting something out of it and even seems happy on that route, but I still think she’s at risk of facing real disappointments, negative experiences, and relationships that aren’t always healthy.
Unlike Holly, Ivy seems to have enough distance, experience and self-control to stay emotionally detached from those kinds of relationships. I’m less confident that Holly has that same ability. I’m also not entirely sure things will turn out well for her in the end. It all depends on what Eva Kiss has planned.
Will Holly become a sexually liberated, confident woman ? Or will she end up trapped in a cycle of throwaway relationships where she’s treated like an object, with little control over what’s happening, and ultimately hurt ? A lot could still happen. But for now, based on how this is being portrayed in the game, it doesn’t feel especially positive either.
And just to be clear, I’m not saying this from a moralizing or puritanical point of view. That’s not where I’m coming from, and it’s not part of my values.
I also have doubts about the Jeremy-Ivy relationship and what Eva Kiss might have planned for this route. At first glance, it seems unlikely that they’d have a serious relationship since they’re both players and more casual types. However, it does feel like there’s something going on, as they seem to have been circling each other for a while.
Ivy teases Jeremy a lot but doesn’t seem to give in to his advances. As far as we know, they haven’t slept together yet. Jeremy seems pretty fixated on Ivy, while she hesitates to take things further and asks Lena for advice. Jeremy himself looks a bit awkward and even asks Lena to put in a good word for him with Ivy to get a chance.
There’s definitely some tension between them at least. As for whether they’re really meant for each other, honestly, I have no idea. Maybe not. Ivy seems to prefer ambitious men who know what they want. Jeremy can come off as a bit immature and awkward in relationships, seeming like he just wants to have fun and doesn’t really own up to his mistakes.
That said, we don’t know much about Jeremy beyond the surface. His character feels pretty superficial so far. Maybe he can grow, whatever direction this goes. And whether Ivy and Jeremy could make a "balanced" couple ? I have no clue there either.
Regarding your last point, I wonder if Ivy will change, if she’s even capable of it, and whether that would be a good thing. Does Eva Kiss have different routes and possible developments planned for her, or will she just keep the same role and kind of influence she already has ? Honestly, I have no idea.
That said, I don’t really see her settling into an exclusive relationship or becoming "pure" or more tame sexually. I don’t think there will be any real romance with this character, even with Ian. I imagine only the “chad Ian” might interest her for a while, but it probably wouldn’t be a stable or permanent relationship.
For now, Ivy remains a fairly minor character. Given how far along we are in the game, I find it hard to imagine any radical or complete change in her personality. It remains to be seen what Eva Kiss has in store for her.
