This is partly because even today, it feels like 90% of all games have male MCs. People are simply fed up with it; the market is oversaturated. They're looking for alternatives. There are more and more games with good female MC
90% of all games have male MCs because a crushing majority of 'gamers' are and will remain male. Self-inserting in games and especially adult games is normal. Sure you gonna have a vocal minority of dudes on here acting all fancy and detached but majority will still use the MC as a surrogate for themselves.

And I also doubt if a trillion FMC games just popped rn a majority male player base will magically prefer that because it's different.

Assuming there's an issue (and I doubt there is) it'd be because same storylines and narratives keep being reused.

If ORS only had Lena as MC, I'm 100% sure it'd be less popular.

Dunno, most do it for themselves, not because they are desperate to please a girl.
Thats a good ol' lie my friend.

Not every guy who works out is necessarily 'desperate' to please a girl but a whole lot of em work out under the direct assumption that being fit is more attractive and thus will help.

This applies to girls too btw. People do things for attention and validation, we don't live in a vacuum.

If people worked out for themselves, gym pics woulda stayed in their camera roll :BootyTime:

Yeah you are right but it's like most of girls Lis on this game sees Ian like a back up plan.
Bro most people are back up plans for others.
You're almost never the central point of someone's life in the early stages of dating.

True, we don't workout for attention. For most of us gym bros, it's like a ritual we follow to discipline ourselves; how far can we push and how far till we break. Most of us have their own demons to fight and not worry about how the people of the opposite sex would perceive us, that's like the least of our concern.

The people you see on social media are just minorities and they don't represent our gym culture. Getting attention is the side effect of chasing fitness as I see it.

Tbh, it's mostly the dudes who'll compliment you, not the girls.

bro it ain't that deep. ngl this reads like some gen Z gym motivation short on yt or tiktok

Most dudes don't got no demons they're fighting out while doing 20lbs dumbbell press. they tryna look good at the beach to get the occasional baddie.

People are shallow and that's fine. No need for some grandiose reason to lift some weights 3 days a week lol

Tbh, it's mostly the dudes who'll compliment you, not the girls.
That I agree on. Then again most dudes still operate under the assumption that girls will like their physiques still.

Then you are that remaining 10% that's not the part of 90% who do it just to look good and score.:coffee:

People who do it to show off on social media are not the minority. They are the (casual) majority you personally don't follow because they aren't part of your minor "gym culture" circle.

Bro, chasing baddies lasts a summer. Chasing discipline lasts a lifetime. Yeah, you’re right; all those 5am lifters in the dead of winter are definitely just hoping a bikini model strolls past the squat rack. :KEK:

Thankfully you live through a lifetime worth of summers where you get to show off the results of your demon fighting :BootyTime:

Oh and you can workout at 5-6AM because it fits your work schedule or hate overcrowded gyms. Doesn't mean you're fighting no demon.

You're trying too hard to give meaning and depth to the most basic activity.

The best kind of erotica for women though.
The male equivalent of the 'humble' woman who somehow lived all her life not knowing she's gorgeous.

Sorry bro, but I don't buy it. You want to exorcise your demons, you sign for a contact sport that is a way more fit outlet. That way, you manage to get a good sweat, get a healthy discharge of the extra aggressiveness, and you build camaraderie with your fellow teammates, and leave the gym as an option for when the schedule doesn't allow going outside when the sun is up to get some fresh air

If you like the gym more than sports, that is fair when you find something that clicks with you, you just know it, but that is more an outlier behaviour. Generally, people go to the gym to look more attractive, and at the doctor's recommendation

The conversation about the purpose of going to the gym in general drifted away from the original argument, that Stan isn't becoming a man just because he hits the gym - which he doesn't do it on his own resolution to build discipline and confidence, but because the girl he wants to fuck suggested it to him, so he just does it to impress her.

He may get a six-pack, but he remains socially inept, dependent on girls, unconfident, incel-like, ugly (face, haircut, clothes) and uncharismatic. He expects hitting the gym magically becoming a better person, when its just one of a dozen steps to change your lifestyle. Once he gets rejected again, he will be immediately pissed about it that he didn't got it despite him trying.

Ian can go to the gym and while the girls compliment him, he can also not go to the gym and they can fall in love for him anyway. Because hitting the gym can only do so much to build character and attractiveness required for a long term relationship. The girls aren't attracted to Ian because he hits the gym and can beat up other rivals, its because he is well-adjusted, socially, witty, and coming out of his depression becoming more and more confident in all aspects in his life - friends, career, hobby.

Girls are attracted to Ian because he's good looking in general. His hobbies aren't extravagant but he's a nice guy and good in bed. Ian is a dream guy in one.

I mean, it's still kind of relevant because the original premise presented here is that doing gym to impress others "doesn't make Stan a man" when in reality this is very much regular male behavior. In this sense it doesn't mean "Stan doesn't become a man" if he does it -- he'd be in fact doing a normal male thing. As opposed to staying holed up in his room the entire time (and likely bitching on web forums how no woman appreciates him)

I think there's a mistake here of lionizing "doing gym for right reasons" as if that's supposedly the only thing women would appreciate in a man, and that it's somehow something that makes men "true" which is basically just a Scotsman fallacy. When in reality, while that's a bonus, so is not looking like a walking tub of lard. Something Stan can achieve regardless if he's on a self-induced path of improvement or simply because he wants to impress others.

Sure. It additionally has to do that he is creative and leaves a foot print in the world, so to speak. There is a reason to interact with him, because he has his own ideas and identity. Stan is just consuming stuff other people created. He doesn't have anything original to say or contribute that other people couldn't do as well.

That's all true. Stan needs a change of type to appeal to women. That applies to his body as well as his personality. I wasn't exactly beautiful at his age either. And I am sure I am not the big exception. This changes later, also through the decision to make something of my type. And today I'm 46, married, in a relationship for 27 years, married for 12 of those years, two children, a good job, everything is fine. So, it's all possible, even for a guy like Stan.

I didn't do it that way, but going to the gym is definitely not the worst way to start. Sure, you can't really achieve much there at first; a good body doesn't develop overnight. But it's also not bad for developing your social skills. Because you have to have the courage to go there first. You can definitely train a bit of courage that way. And it's perhaps not the worst place to meet people either. So, it's certainly not the worst place to go, no matter what motivation brings you there.

Pfft you're just saying this because you haven't read his treatise on the qualities of Tali's sweat he had produced on BioWare forum.:coffee:
Imagine he would make video games (and for the sake of the argument decent ones). That would make him far more interesting and he had a lot more to talk about.
