Well, we haven't seen Minerva's husband yet. Maybe Stan is an upgrade.
Based on what we picked, I don't think appearance is necessarily one of the aspects that Minerva is discontent with her marriage. It looks like she is the primary breadwinner in her household due to a twist of fate, but her husband is not picking up the slack, so she is the one that have to get shit done or none else will. When we get to that situation, yeah, looking like a potato sack doesn't help, but that is rarely the main issue

That is one of the aspects where Stan could have easily appeared more manly and he utterly failed; and I hate to agree with Louise, but when rent goes up and he passively took it instead of pushing it to keep it down for as long as he could and immediately talking about it with the other two tenants (Louise and Lena), can only be described as a bitch ass move. If those Stan changes counter don't improve his attitude, so he can be more proactive and speak for himself when needed, and maybe give a piece of his mind when Louise tries to belittle him, I don't see him as true LI material except where a bad Lena can cuck and milk him out of his savings

Am I missing something? Started from my Alison save from v.13 and all I got for this update was Ivy, Lena, and Jess going to the penthouse then it ends

Then you are that remaining 10% that's not the part of 90% who do it just to look good and score.:coffee:

People who do it to show off on social media are not the minority. They are the (casual) majority you personally don't follow because they aren't part of your minor "gym culture" circle.
I have noticed that on the topic of ORS you are always right. Seems it does not apply to everything though. Or at least let me qualify your statement above:
90% TRY the gym to look good and score. However they do not stick to it, because no-one endures such pain for long for such futile reasons.
Exactly 0% of people who STICK to the gym every 48 hours for years are what you describe, and 100% of people who STICK to the gym every 48 hours for years are what Searing5 describes.

True, many begin for surface-level reasons, but sustained effort changes the motive. Just as someone may start cooking to impress a date, yet years later cook for joy and mastery, or how Japanese and Chinese tea ceremonies elevate “just making tea” into an art and ritual, long-term training becomes its own reward.

Well, the last time we saw her, Ian tried to box her into the shape of a toilet bowl. And, since it took place inside a public restroom stall, she's likely harboring a number of happy skin and gastrointestinal bacterial colonies. Not to worry though, it's probably nothing for a hardened socialist like her.
On the off chance you aren't aware. The original design of Emma had a significantly more muscular silhouette.

Not enough sex scenes with an atmosphere like this. Both MMC and FMC playing a billiar and betting charged with sexual tension that ends up in sex. God, so many ideas for exhibitionism, voyeurism and variety of public sex but we are stuck with Devs who are uncreative.

It is a new character, In the Chapter 14.1 Status Report (6), EK teases us about him and two other girls by showing us their silhouettes, one kinda reminded me of a slightly thiccer Jolene, which would have made sense in context and is one of the few characters left from GGGB that have not appeared in a cameo

Thanks for the reminder. Is Jolene that one girl with Tyrone from GGGB? I seem to recall a girl like that.

I can see her being the one on the left given the slimmer build since the right girl gives me milf/mature vibes.

Note, i have never said the 90% who are casual and do it for the shallow reasons stick with the gym. No, they attend for a bit and/or irregularly, give up at some point and are replaced by other casuals. Ones who also attend for a bit, then move on, etc. But overall, this constantly shifting group still makes up that proverbial 90% of the customers, volume-wise.

So yeah. I don't disagree with what you say here, but at the same time it doesn't really contradict my point, either. :sneaky:

Ah, so we’ve moved from talking about the motivations of people who stick with the gym to overall customer churn rates.

That’s… a creative way to make sure you’re never technically wrong.

Completely different topic now, but hey, if it keeps the conversation comfortable for you, go for it champ.

Eh, that's because i wasn't. It's hardly my fault if you've seemingly interpreted simple "guys out there" as "a group made entirely of those who do it religiously 3 times a week, preferably at 5 a.m."

(it also wasn't me who introduced this aspect to the discussion, so take that up with DaLuke2 instead..?)

The original point was that the gym shouldn't help Stan in particular, since he only entered because Lena told him and seems to think thats the only thing he has do to to get pussy. Basically skipping everything else, expecting to get automatically rewarded as long as he just tries and likely once again blaming everyone but himself when it won't work out. It neglects on what was later on elaborated, how the gym is meant to be a first step of many.

My my main point is that the Stan improvement route is badly written and not realistic. Lena tells him to hit the gym, he does it exclusively to please her instead for himself, misssing the entire point of long term self-improvement. If nothing else happens, then we could very well get an even more unrealistic development of Stan turning out like Eric and magically getting Lena, just because he hit the gym.

By comparison, Bernards redemption in GGGB was better. He improved by attending job interviews, not giving up after one, and there was a longer development going on throughout the game (instead of Stan starting in chapter 11), relating to several issues (not going after his wife, keeping the house and himself clean).

Right, but like others pointed out, attending the gym even "for wrong reasons" still impairs self-improvement benefits on a person if they stick with it for a while. Even if that's not what they explicitly sought as the reason to attend. So i don't think it's all that reasonable to write off Stan who does it as someone who won't gain any actual improvement from this experience. It wouldn't be unrealistic development for Stan to find some confidence in himself and gain some more social graces, all of those affecting how he is perceived.

You are missing the main point of Home, eh, self improvement :p ;)
