Thats whats so frustrating about Seymour,is clear EK had some interesting plans for this character,she just never expected the old man to be so unpopular so she went full old simp with him :HideThePain:

I see the point you make, but that does not invalidate my observation that a non-small part of the player base obviously, going by their laments, expected a definite villian just missing the Mhuhahah of a mad scientist trope.


I explained already that dealing with him meant you had to make compromises. Again, it is established. You ignore him as Lena, everything starts falling apart. You don't and now you look like the richest bitch in town.
Same with Ian and working for Hierophant and the relationship with Viktor as well as the implications regarding your integrity, etc.
Seymour was designed as the guy who always has the upper hand, at all times. You gain something from him and lose something of your character.
People are disappointed that with Lena he becomes a mellow simp. He got disarmed and neutered really fucking quickly. It's very inconsistent with his initial buildup and kills any narrative tension you once had thanks to him. He lost that aura of a man who could do shit with absolute impunity.

And this is where you erred. I knew the moment I saw Seymour that on the paths you have good relations with him he would not be such a villain or a villain at all. I take it you do not know the person his image is partly based on? No Spainard outside extremist circles, would depict a complete villain with his likeness.
I think EK is frustrated with politics since Seymour and the two mayor candidates are clearly based on existing politicians and the political plotlines in game (had a laugh seeing Seymour and his candidate being buddies, considering how their real life variants "like" each other), but she would not make them complete as..., because they are recognisable to Spanish and some other European people.

As for Victor, he is an as... in his own way and only a solution if you bump heads with Seymour. If you are on good terms with Seymour you simply have no need for the other snobbish publisher in town.

Yes and going by his reaction he was actually aware of it. He seems to have tested Lena if she really knows much about Nietzsche´s writings, since he smiles and murmurs "even better". Lena can score big points with Seymour there.
