"the main character, due to her complexes and fear of revealing herself, doesn't come across as very good" - For those especially gifted, I'll explain: this means that the main character doesn't really fit into the story or looks mediocre, and I can explain why.
Firstly, I have already seen similar characters in a number of games, Eruption Imminent for example MC there also constantly experiences emotional problems and self-doubt, so this is not something new.
So an insecure MC worried about discrimination can only be done once? Did I say the character was wholly unique?
The MC herself looks pathetic because of her complexes and lack of determination in many moments, not to mention the constant outbursts in many moments after which she runs away from her friends and then from her family. Personally, I would have enjoyed seeing a more mind stronger protagonist that will not run away from problems, but that's a matter of taste.
Again, we can't have an insecure school-age MC to start her coming of age story? You realize that's what this is right? Gaining independence from parental figures? An early step is trusting friends like family, which in her case means sharing her condition as it it a core part of her identity and clearly one heavily discriminated against . . . Luna is basically a figurative stand-in for a trans person tired of hiding her true self away from everyone but her mother and father. The story also clearly indicates how sheltered she is, so her difficulty showing trust and managing her emotions would be juvenile.
Did you even play the update? She literally takes the step to risk everything and tells her friends. Having a supportive parent nudge her in that direction makes sense. Parental support is what she lacks from the beginning.
Apart from her appearance, the main character is not particularly distinctive, not her personality, nor some hidden power, nothing what would make her special in my eyes.
Do you think this game is a Marvel movie?
"You can't see it, but there is a lot of complexity in these character relationships with some nice setup for future relationships and conflicts." - I see this and I understand that this is all banality that I have already seen in many games and other works, there is nothing special about their personalities, they are all stereotypical.
Gotcha, so no more dickgirl games then with a school-age MC struggling with her condition, friends, and family. Bc you've already seen them all lol. You can't possible explore themes and conflicts more than once.
"But yes, please keep insulting my ability to analyze the plot of a game. It is so well-founded and convincing." - It's funny, you were the first to insult my ability to analyze a plot, and now you're offended that I did the same.
Oh, I'm not offended. Just amused! You couldn't read the dev's comments on what to expect from chapter one, you missed or ignored many plot elements in your "analyses" (invalidating them), and somehow you thought yourself better read than me.
But hey, I'm tired of correcting a toddler that doesn't pay attention to detail, so I'm going to move on now.
