VN - Ren'Py - Pale Carnations [Ch. 4 Up 4 Public] [Mutt & Jeff]

Amazing ! Enjoyed the detail and immersion in this. Would love for it to be updated and extended continuously in the future! Hope the OP doesnt give up on this. Will add it to my watch list. Not often I review a game but this deserves it. My favorite game so far! It's smooth and enjoyable to play. Many choices even thou no free sandbox however it just feels right. I like the game just the way it is, hope for there to be even more even after the 4 weeks. Perhaps new girls? Looking forwaard to it already

When i have looked into this game i saw Chapter 3 and though: "oh that must be too early to play".

OMG i was so wrong!

This game is really great he has a lot of content, nice story, excellent characters and even the MC is well developed.

My only concern about this game is the main theme but that's okay the art is great and that's only a personal taste. There's a little too much degradations and heavy BDSM stuff for me.

The story is what makes this game great with the characters well written. The psy side of things makes the characters quite human.

The art is really fine, models are hot everywhere. A little disappointed by the animations but that's too much to ask i concede . And too much sperm... that's not my fetish to drown my partner in bed lol

Last thing to say, the main bosses of the club are too faded. I whish they were more important in the story but perhaps later they will?.

Top tier.

Every important(?) female character has its own unique characteristics that makes it attractive in its own ways. Characters are then cleverly used to provide different fetishes/preferred contents to the players. The players can easily associate said contents to the characters because the story progression is natural while the story connection is smooth. Although the game overall is focused on exploring hardcore material, you, the main character, can choose to respect or exploit your girls.

And that concludes the fanboy(me) impression of the game

Great art, good writing. It's clear that there's more than one person working on this project because the attention to detail in various areas of the game are apparent.

Personally not a very big fan of the 'hardcore' scenes that happen within the Club, but outside of it very much enjoying the H-scenes. I am very much enjoying the build-up of the relationships between MC & Hana and MC & Mina.

I'm happy to have found this game, I'm really looking forward to future updates.

Most impressive. The quality of characters and writing is among the best there is. The sex scenes are varied, well motivated, and hot. While the use of HS models puts a limit on the quality of the renders, they still serve very well. While this is certainly not a sunshine and puppies kind of a game, you have substantial latitude in the game as to how the MC deals with what is going on.

An easy 5 stars for one of the best games I've seen.

This is probably the First Review I have ever posted and I have been frequenting this site for years but boi I've gotta. This is hands down one of the best VNs I have ever played from this site. I have played easily hundreds of different VNs but something about this one just grabs me. Maybe it's the writing, the renders(except Veronica I know many of you love her personally I REALLLLLLY don't), or maybe it's just the overall depravity behind the theme. I'm not sure myself but, What I can say is don't skip this game do yourself a favor and play it. Also Rosalind numbah 1 that is all.

I was surprised to see this few patrons for this game, it's weird that it's not getting the recognition it deserves.
Out of the top games in F95 for me this is probably the best one. And I'm surprised to say this because I was a bit put off by the description and first impressions about it, thinking it's leaning too heavily on public degrading theme, but there is a lot more to it.
Story is great, character development is spot on - enough time to be invested but not too much time to start skipping through text. Technically it's on its own league and there are plenty of stories to go through with the characters.
Highly recommend it.

An excellent story coupled with great characters and awesome artwork make this game a must play.

There are some things to be aware of though. First there are a lot of pretty extreme scenes in this game. But for the most part it is easy to mostly just click through if you like me are not interested in it. Second you may be frustrated on how little agency you actually get in the game, but that is also the nature of the setting where you are just a pawn in other peoples scheme.

In my opinion, this VN has one of the best renders along with content and storyline among all the porn game. All the girls have their unique personality and traits. Moreover, the VN presents many fetishes in a very exiting way. Overall, the VN deserves more attention and support. I hope we will get more updates and quality contents like these.

There is only one word to describe this game: wow.

Every aspect of it is fucking amazing. Just stop reading this (or any) reviews, download and play it.

The writing in it is excellent, and imho the best feature of the game. It is guaranteed to have you playing till the end of the update. The characters are all well done and have tons of depth. Your decisions throughout the game also matter to some degree, for some characters more than the others.

The renders are on the same level as the writing. They are simply excellent. I especially liked that the expressions on the characters' faces follow the dialogues and events. Speaking of faces, the models in this game are also excellent.

Pro tip: there is a walkthough in the op. For the first couple of playthroughs, don't use it. Just play the game according to what you feel like doing, then use the walthrough to unlock all the scenes. I played without the wt at first and then I used it, and I feel that if I had started the game with it, it would have marred the experience a little.

If you've read so far, congratulations. You've wasted a minute. Just download the game and dive into it, it's more than worth it.

Pale Carnations is an AVN that takes you for a ride. As you progress through this AVN, you will find yourself in many situations that force you to subconsciously think about your own moral compass during some parts of the AVN. The MC is a seemingly normal guy with dreams and ambitions who was given an opportunity to better his financial situation. He's immediately set out on a journey as his job threatens to strip away his own morals and push him further and further down a path of depravity. It's your job as the player to determine how far down this path he goes and who he'll exit this journey with. That being said, you have my respect if you play and do not choose Veronica or Hana.

As a writer, there's really not much that can be said that hasn't been said already. The developers are quite talented and it will always boggle my mind that this AVN only has around 400 patrons.

There are enough gushing reviews so I'll limit mine to a brief summary what I think works and doesn't.

H-scenes - cg porn can be palpably weird, kinky, outré etc. in a way that cannot be replicated in (legal) real porn because the latter involves real people. It's the former's one true advantage over the latter and the game exploits it about as fully as one can expect.

Graphics - look great. Lighting and environments are pitch-perfect with very few exceptions. Despite being weird HS models, the girls manage to look the part (especially the trophy blonde and the sultry sadistic brothelkeeper).

Characters - the writer/s can write. While I wouldn't say the npcs have actual personalities, they certainly have personality types that play out consistently over the course of the story and bring some drama and flavour to the h-scenes. A pleasant surprise on a website full of westernised shota fantasies and crass ripoffs of Adam Sandler frat movies.

Story, setting, 'paths' - when it comes to porn/erotic fiction in general, noir works every time, especially if the centrepiece is a brothel/sex club for the beau monde. That's definitely a plus. However, an abundance of branching paths leads to character inconsistencies, eg the PC's inner monologue being compassionate towards women he gleefully subjects to scummy sex stuff earlier in the story. It's over-ambitious (ie bloated) game design, which the devs should try to slenderise in future updates.

Its few but significant shortcomings did not ruin my fun, so 5/5.

It's really quite a gem. The main characters are all fairly likeable and have distinct personalities. I don't do reviews but really, good stuff here. The only downside being that I need more content.

An unusual and high quality game, definitely worth a try and deciding for yourself.

The art is excellent and pushes the engine as far as it can go. The game includes some good animations. Scenes for the club usually feature fetish, although there are less hardcore scenes, too. Scenes often branch significantly so are worth playing again with different options.

The game has a dark setup with women competing in a degrading competition. This seemed offputting to me, but the player has meaningful choices about which ending to work towards and how to treat the women and build relationships with them and other characters.

The writing is excellent, exploring the personalities and motivations of the characters as the competition continues.

Great animations, excellent story and great developers what more could you ask for, the game is also being updated quickly so there is not much lead time. Unlike some developers, the developers of Pale carnations are also meeting deadlines

Normaly I don't rate but this is the best game on this platform!!! Don't get scared of by the HS art style, the story is very very very good. 10/10 !!! give it a shot, it's worth your time, It's a must play!

The women are gorgeous, the scenes meet all of my expectations and the story is not by any means badly written, and the freedom of choices... god, when was the last time I played a non-anime styled H games that pleases both my eyes and my boner...

Hands down one of the best plot i've read in this type of games. It's amazing that literally every character here is very likeable and have some deep in them. Choises you make seems important witch add for replayability. 5* cant wait for release.

I've been scrolling past this game several times because personally I'm not a big fan of the honey select-art and the premise of the story didn't intrigue me. Boy, I'm glad I finally tried this out.

At first glance you see some slick and well crafted menus that are not the lazy, standard type of Ren'Py formats you see in most other games of this type. My biggest pro off the bat was how you get to shape your main character backstory. This adds a lot of replayablity and none the chosen traits are inherently good or bad.

For an early release this game has a surprising amount of content. It took me several nights of small to medium play sessions to finish the current build. The story is immersive, albeit not very realistic, but who cares? It's a lewd game. All the girls are stunning and even if I was not a fan of honey select-art I warmed up very quickly to this aspect. Excellent art. A big point of criticism I have for several AVNs are the lack of choices. Pale Carnations have choices in almost every scene and it really feels like you can shape the story to your liking. I can already tell from this build that we can go in several directions. A corruption path, a romance path, evil path, good path etc.

This game does sex extremely well. Every scene is kinky and hot and the scenes don't feel awkward in any way. Very well crafted lewd scenes that pretty much sets a precedent for future AVNs like this.

The writing is top notch, the story and the characters feel very fleshed out without dragging on. It keeps you interested and intrigued.

My only real con is the design of MC. He's pretty standard, but aside from that he feels like a proper character with moral convictions, but also someone with desires and goals that we can sympathise with as players. I also gotta say Ian is a very well crafted best friend. You find yourself rooting for both of them, which is rare in a AVN.

I thoroughly enjoyed this and it was a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. I feel like it can only get better from here. A well deserved 5 stars. It surpassed my expectations in every way.
