Anyway, as far as writing quality goes, it may be better to look through html games, since for many of them writing is all they have to work with. Not being forced to produce graphics to match (or to write around available 3d assets) can also allow for more freedom with the narrative.
Best decision to rerun this game ive stopped just before the itw of Felicia's husband and man that was epic haha.

In any case, Pale Carnations and Eternum are equally good, but in different genres. Eternum is a comedy adventure, comparable to The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas. Pale Carnations is a drama with barely enough adventure and comedy added to make it attract a wide audience and make it palatable for someone like me. (Not sure what to compare it to, as I normally ignore drama.)
for me Pale Carnations shines by his psychological aspect, in that regard i never came across another avn game like this

Yeah, saw plenty of those. All you gotta do is get creative and inspired and then the sex scenes would hit even better.
There was one game that surprised me and its one of the top rated rightfully so.

Tell me, how much do the background traits you choose at the beginning of the game affect the plot? Will I miss any IMPORTANT scenes if I don't have the right trait?

Nothing much. But depending on the trait you'll miss out on certain scenes like the strongman trait lets you do more dominant acts during certain sex scenes like picking up the girl while you're pounding her. Narratively it isn't much of a big deal.
I actually started doing that, but I do it while I have shampoo on my head, I tend to leave them for at least 2-3 mins before I rinse them off, and within that time, I just brush my teeth... Strongman is probably the biggest difference, but Voyeur also gets you a couple of interesting variants of some scenes. Social chameleon is probably the least different, but it does let you handle certain situations without losing points with various characters that can be tough to score points with.
If you want to make sure you see everything use Shawn's Walkthrough Mod on the 1st page. You can have all the traits at once and know which choices are a big deal. He has also setup a few places to see some scenes that result from otherwise exclusive choices.

Strongman and tireless are the choices that make sense unless you feel that you must watch some lesbo stuff between Lucy and Harper. For a few seconds.
