Hello all, TD here, and so is Summer!

All told, the update sits at 1,931 statics, 50 animations, and 40,384 words.

That amounts to 200 statics even, 7 animations, and 3,631 words over the past three weeks.

Honestly, not our proudest report. That is well below our weekly average. Work's been getting done, but little hiccups have added up.

For transparency, GIL and I work closely. I write every day, give GIL a script in the morning, and he hands me a batch of images a night. I usually keep a few days ahead, in case I get writer's block or some of my weekly obligations get in the way. It's not a long rope, but we find it’s the sweet point for on-the-fly adjustments and two-way creative input.

This dev cycle, we found ourselves a bit out of sync for a better part of a week and some change. I could never get quite ahead. Some of it was the usual friction (work-related snafus, reshoots, HS Studio being a bitch), but there was also quite a few half days that GIL didn't have a solid script to work on for various reasons that is the fault of my own.

Thankfully, we found our rhythm over the last week, but we nevertheless feel guilty about it. Especially with so much of the update still left in front of us.

The good news is, we're about to close out the final major scene of Exhibition 3's free roam. Anyone wanting a continuation of the Lucy stuff from Felicia's art exhibition will only have to wait for this update. GIL made most of the animations months ago, in one of his lust-demon fugue states. That always entails quality, but I of course had to put my grubby mark on it too. It’s at 10 total animations (more than our report because a lot of it was counted months ago when he made it) and will have another couple by the time we finish tomorrow. For those not interested in the school teacher, there are other ways to wrap up the free roam. I believe I mentioned Hana and Kat in previous diaries.

After that, we have a big scene to kick off the decadent evening and we’ll finally be onto the exhibition proper. I’ll leave the details of that for later.

Sooo... new here, came for the size, the plot has me quite interested (even if it reminds me of a south-american endless drama series in some parts, the limited cast lets me stay focused). First of all, great cast, I can appreciate the effort in making each character unique not only in the model design, but in the personality we get to see during the game.

Regarding the blurry images for the MC's mother videos, I believe he doesn't remember the men in the videos. His scab-scratching self-flagelation comes mostly from his mother and what she does for him, something quite masterfully implemented in Rosalind's similar situation.

What I'm curious about is how Week 3 Exhibition will turn out for Felicia.

Mmmm unlikely, the theme is Hell Week, and the paint seems to be a red herring... What pinged my attention here is that Kathleen seems to be "about to retire" (I get a quite strong feeling she is grooming the MC as her replacement), dunno if her interest will rotate to be a regular expectator... or even a participant (she gives me the vibes of a bored psychopath, even if she has some short-lived reactions to the most extreme humiliations the MC gives her while dressed as a cop), and there's the german pharmaceutist with his blondie "mechanical" dragon (as in, personal assistant and overcompetent protector)... My worry is how the history will present this without "burning" the Carnation club down, should the guest decide to... remove the source of his humilliation.

Also, I'm curious about how Kathleen will hide Edwind and the guest from each other until the last moment. Masks, blindfolds, "initiations" (imagine Felicia knowing but the other side don't... unless she makes a noise!) in obscure lodges...

I think if we are playing as an asshole MC, he should harsher to his mom, tell her she didn't do it for him, she did it because she liked it or something. Him instantly forgiving her makes total sense for a nicer guy run, but a full on dickhead run, it seems out of character, I think he would be more bitter.

Why? Even assholes can be tender to someone, specially if they see that someone as a tragic figure that has suffered to prevent them from that.
Also, he doesn't read as "bitter" with Victoria as much as angry with the ones that caused her falling there. Mind you, I think Dr. Chuck may suffer an accident along the line, should the story reveal that Victoria end recording those tapes as payment for Chuck's help (directly or not).

Ok, I'm fine with it causing a rift between MC and Killian, there are a lot of story opportunities there. In fact, considering that MC was the one who kept bullies from bothering Killian, him trying to beat him up would be an interesting thing. Also, the MC could remind him that she's his mother, not Killian, etc etc. Play him really bitter and angry.

I don't think so, this becomes too forced in other parts of the story: Edwin is there because Killian missed him, and asked Dr Chuck to induct him in the club, and while Killian had (and still has) a crush on Victoria (considering she and his mother may well be the only MILFs he hasn't made a move on, it would seem he has Victoria on top of an adoring pedestal, the same way he sees his mother as an annoyance at best), the ramifications would be too chaotic and risky for the cohesion of the story.

I believe the "blurry" part would be the male leads, he seems the type to be obsessed with the self-flagelation of watching only Victoria, as some sort of penance to lessen the guilt for never noticing before and the sacrifice (at least he seems to portray it as such) Victoria made.

You may be right about the choice to delete the videos or not, but that would be kind of... boring? Doing that ending just to please overly sensitive players sounds like flushing a cliffhanger down the toilet.

Considering how... accesible Edwin's Loft is, I wouldn't be surprised if the videos resurface later for some reason (even if we deleted them, there would be other copies, and considering how Dr Chuck told his sister about Victoria's extra job, I doubt he doesn't have a complete series). Considering Kathleen's goading of the MC and how she enjoys his bouts of sadism, I find more than possible she will use the tapes against him. After all, Edwin seems as much as part of the Carnation's exhibit as the girls!

The free-roam portion of the update has definitely proven larger than I expected, though I'm willing to wait as long as our intrepid devs are still enthusiastic about turning out relevant content. So far that has not been a problem - even the content that has fallen flat for me personally still feels like a well-crafted part of the story as a whole. I'm down for whatever twisted intrigue and spectacles await us at pinnacle of Week 3; I just hope there's something for squeamish players like me who aren't on many paths, even if it's much less elaborate than the main activities.

Hopefully it will be quite a while until we find out, as I still prefer releasing the complete Exhibition all at once. But if it winds up getting split and we can find out sooner, well, that's a comparatively minor problem in the modern world.

Pale Carnations is a secret club for rich men (and for important men who get free access for the benefit of the rich men). The main attraction is the humiliation, objectification and basically free use of high-class prostitutes. Once a year there is a depraved competition between three desperate women (the 'carnations') who are not working for the club. The winner gets her problem solved, but all three get their psyches destroyed with all the shit they have to undergo. The competition takes place over several weeks, each week having one big event preceded by preparations. One year's competition provides the main structure for the game.

The MC is a broke medical student who gets thrown into this environment as a somewhat privileged male junior employee. We have great freedom in what we make of this, although we are strongly constrained by the rigid criminal environment. The MC can be played as a sadist who enjoys what's going on at the club, or as an idealist with a savior complex who is trying to do the right thing within the constraints. Or maybe the MC concentrates fully on solving a certain criminal case tied to the club, or on finding out why his mother used to do porn. My issue with it, is that unlike many other "weird" scenes this game might have, that one lacks any type of sex appeal, it's disgusting from beggining to end, I feel like this game does a good job at making you think that even if a certain scene is not your cup of tea, you can understand why someone would consider it hot, or would enjoy it, but that's not the case with the Veronica one.

And I've seen many art/porn where a girl has to guzzle a big amount of cum and I've thought it's hot, but the way it happens in the game isn't appealing at all, for that reason, I've never been able to like it. And the thing is, after that, the game doesn't have any other scenes like it.
