since were on the topic of how bad kathleen is, i wanna point out shes the only one that values edwin. angust clearly doesnt trust edwin. he only tolerates him becuz of his connection to chuck and his daughter. and chuck is trying too hard to look like a reliable uncle. with the current update, we find out how full of shit he is and is just playing the long game with edwin

kathleen, on the other hand, she likes edwin becuz of his contribution to the carnation and how skillful he is at it. she even rewards him for it if he satisfies her with the result. you can argue that this is just her trying to sink her claws in on edwin, but i dont see it that way at all. judging from her dialogues with edwin, she sounds like she trusts him to an extent, at least in the club. while kathleen is cruel in her game, she may be the only one edwin can rely on. though, she is the one with least power in the club out of the 3
You see it, guys?

Just like I told ya. :sneaky:

NOT in the least.

It 1000% totally depends on your gameplay and your choices.

Chuck, Kath and August have variable points, just like Ian and Warren and Samson and Jacob.

August, Chuck, Jacob, Warren and Samson have friendship score. When August and Chuck's points are very high, then they trust you.

Not sure whether you can trigger August's trust yet, though.

Sorry, but that is very dependent on how you play the game. For instance, August might learn to like and trust you. In my "canon" playthroughs, August definitely likes my Edwin and is on the way to trust him. (Ninja´ed by Otto:) )

I would like to see a club where the younger generation takes over completely and make it more decent. Throw out all the old farts. Treat everyone better. Some of the whores actually like what they do. Its like everything in life you get more out of people if you treat them with decency
Based on the society they're in I can say there's no room for that kind of decency, many people here have opinions about how to treat sex workers but this is not quite the place to disscuss such terms, what I do understand not wanting the Kathleen directions where the girls would become mindless drones akin to sexdolls or not cathering to people like the gorilla lackey (forgot his name and don't care to look for it) that delights in making them physically suffer.

That's the beauty of this game, many of us here have had different readings because our choices differ, I don't know if by the end we could all agree on a "canon" playthrough and I could even say that defeats the porpouse of the game because this caracters are written in a way where you may need a bunch of playthroughs to get a more complete picture of them. Many people have disagree on you with August and I also would have to repeat that my sweet hag monster Kathleen, she practically has a whole report on him and his mother and as the kind of woman she is for me it's more likely she is using the right words to say and things to do in order to use him for a conquest of the club and it's clear why, the MC has the posibility to control Hana and through that take an advantage on August, seems like Chuck wants him to take his place. He is a powerful piece in that game, why wouln't she give him what he craves? It cost her next to nothing and she might even enjoy it, but it's not for him, all means to and end. And even after saying all that I still want my happy ending with her because I love older women.

You seem to have a severe misunderstanding of the nature of this sort of industry. The client base is required to be from the dregs of society. It's not a place where 'good people' hang out.

these threshold points to trigger scenes arent a good indicator of writing. triggering these points just offer you more choices to select in dialogue. in writing, kathleen is more trusting of edwin than august in her dialogue and words. she also acts more like a proper boss to edwin. august just seems guarded with edwin

So Kath is the New Sophia now, huh?
Never!:) Because even at her worst, Sophia is a cool, calculating eccentric, who does NOT feel joy at the suffering of others. As we can see in her talks with Chuck, she is appalled by him and his "freetime fun".
Kathleen on the other hand lives for inflicting woes on others and destroying their lives for the lulz. I personally had a laugh when this waste of oxygen Kath is, told us to stay in the blue room, since company is better than to be alone in the doctors presence.
Granted, it was part manipulation in it, but it was also clear that Kath really thought so. And even understandable, Sophia is in many ways the opposite of Kath.

That said, it is also clear that the Kath fans would one day starting to tell us how and why they are Kath fans and want their own happy end (how happy that truly is, is on another paper).
But outside the Kath fan group Sophia is a better LI choice any time of the day. She is most definitely not your standard LI type, but that makes it even better. An eccentric, slightly nerdy genius, who can be really hot too and is also very helpful when the brown matter hits the rotary impeller.

Umm, she IS the MC's proper boss. August may have more control over the Club than Kathleen, but the MC is her direct subordinate. It's natural that she's the one giving him daily assignments.

As for Kathleen being more trusting of the MC, maybe. She certainly gives him a pretty free rein when it comes to handling the Carnations, but then again what does that actually cost her? If the MC asks her to sort out Rosalind's liquidity issue, Kathleen will refuse (unless you've specifically ingratiated the MC to her, but you said to ignore those game mechanics). So she doesn't seem to value his input too highly by default.

Personally, I think it would be more precise to say that Kathleen sees great potential in the MC and wants to foster it. How much of that is down to her trusting him vs her wanting to manipulate him is a matter of personal opinion.

true that kathleen is a direct boss of edwin, but it doesnt explains augusts dodgy behaviors. all 3 of them are his superiors. august is the only one who stands out

i didnt do that route, so i dont how that scene plays out, but kathleen solving rosalines financial problems kinda goes against the nature of the carnation, doesnt it? not to mention, she prolly doesnt want to be seen as kind, especially to the 3 carnation girls

overall, i agree with your last sentences. and unlike chucks bullshit, this one is at least not malicious
