Asking Feli is not quite as bad as you make it seem. Most points of the Art exhibition you can still gain. I think you only loose 1 possible Confidence point and you can still max out her relations score. But yes, if pursue Felicia, you should use someone else if you want to gain most confi points.

Actually we have some clues what happens if we ask August! "Just Oliver" makes a very wrong decision, believing August is a man of the past, refusing an offer he cannot refuse. Bad idea! Like Warren said when told us, we should view the news. So Oliver has had either an epic roughing up or is dead. We do not know yet what it is.

Chuck is like you said. Maybe he even does so to get Ian into the situation.

As for Kath, while there is the option to sweettalk her into helping Rosi, you still need a lot of points with her. So you are at least the first steps on a sadistic path to get that far and Kath will use it in the future for sure.
I went into the club and in the poker scene. Played a bit then asked chuck. He then pressured the police chief into action. In a few days the other operation was shut down.

Interesting! I never asked Chuck twice after he denied help the first time.

This choice will be after you ask August/Chuck/Kathleen/Felicia for help and it doesn't work.

In my opinion, the best option if you're not interested in an MMF threesome is Kathleen, having 20 affection points with her or the Social Chameleon/Social Butterly perk, which allows you to try to solve the problem without any strings attached.

Hi!
IMO the "best solution" for the Rosi money problem depends on what we see/feel is the best variant from our Edwin´s point of view. Having the needed 20 Kath points can/will interfere with gaining important points for other characters, so you should not underestimate that.
The Chuck solution is very much in line with what we learned about him from Abel and Sophia. Behind the scene "consultations", high profile cloak and dagger work. The fact that Oliver´s "bank" is shut down quickly afterwards shows that the police knew about him, but did not do much.
So personally I do not wonder much anymore that Abel and Sophia chose their way into the PC club to bring it down from the inside. It is also another hint towards our two doctors knowing one of Chuck´s victims personally.

The August solution is more or less the "who lives by the sword, dies by the sword" one. Oliver is an idiot and a dangerous one to boot when he dismisses August´s request for a "gentlemens agreement" about Rosi. Pissing off a "godfather" (it should be pretty clear by now that August is more than just a common criminal in this city) is not a good idea. And he pays the price, because he is either roughed up to the point it makes the news or dead, which also makes the news. It is also implied no one in the city will be sad this happened.

Howdy everyone! GIL here.
I'm happy to announce the beta build was handed to our playtester crew today. If things go smoothly and no major problems are detected, we'll probably have an early release build ready by this weekend. It's a wide update with a lot of different paths and variables, so here's hoping that doesn't give our brave proofreaders too much trouble. Expect an official release dates post in a couple of days.
It's really hard to sit idle while the final stretch of polish happens, so I figured I wouldn't. I used this time to perfect a couple of minor details in the current update, and when that was done, I decided to continue the prologue remake I timidly started before 4.5 hit the shelves. Rosalind's first encounter with [Edwin] at the club will be completely remade by the time you get your hands on the new build! Still some work to be done, but it's looking pretty good if I may say so myself. I tried to preserve the framing and flow of the scene almost to a 1:1, but there will be some new animations in there. TD told me he might rework the text some, so there's that too.
As always, thank you all so much for supporting us. You all make the dream happen. The goods will arrive soon enough!

Has stagnation set in? Now it's just a rework of what used to work fine.
You are reading this update out of context. This release is going to be one half of a release that had to be split because it was going to be so huge. It contains everything until just before the next exhibition. The following release will then consist of the next exhibition itself.

The reworking of an early scene is just a little bonus. And at least from my point of view it's a very welcome bonus because even without the rework this is one of my favorite scenes. I am very much looking forward to the additional animations.

I remember people saying they wanted a mega update. Why is it being split, if the patrons wanted a mega update?

The devs wanted a split, simple as that. The half-release works okay on its own, and they felt pressing on for a full release would result in them cutting corners or slowing down even further as work dragged on. I get the impression they were going a little stir crazy without any feedback, too.

I'm sorry. I just don't like this idea of "remake"anything.

GIL is doing it over a time where he would otherwise have nothing to do. You're basically complaining about getting extra shit.
Some people cannot be pleased whatever you do.;) You two are among the rare Devs who push the story forward and do remake stuff simultanious, which is a distinct minority among the AVN Devs.

To be fair, a lot of remakes are initially advertised as small projects to fill free time - only to grow out of control and strangle the game's development like some sort of irradiated kudzu monster. I'm not worried about that happening here, but I can't in good conscience blame people who don't follow the development as closely for flinching at the word.

Besides, as curious as I am to see the new version, GIL should really be spending his free time seeking out sunlight or something while he has the chance. We'll need him slaving away again in the artwork mines on the second half of this update as soon as possible! :p
