I had the problem before, I just reinstalled and it seemed to fix it (don't know if that was the necessary fix however)

That is if you mean the photos were black, but you could still see the text. When that happened for me, Videos -Gifs?- (or only some of them idk) still loaded

Are you playing in fullscreen? If so, can you try windowed?

Only the videos are affected, images including gifs work fine, and so does text

I tried both, I tried compatibility mode, changing the graphics driver (switching between processor or video card) nothing helps, even uninstalling and reinstalling Java, thinking Java was the problem since I can play the videos if I ripped/decompiled them from the Java file

Seems the only option for me, is to make my own or convert this game to another Java file/format

Java throws the MediaException ERROR_MEDIA_AAC_FORMAT_UNSUPPORTED. My guess is that there is a bug in the Java source code.

Another option is to find another computer to play it on.

What version of Java do you have? Because I keep older versions on mine without uninstalling them due to some games, perhaps I need a specific version aside from the latest version.

The game runs from the supplied Java files which are from the Liberica 13 JDK. They are located in the folder "jdk64" (or "jdk" if you run the 32-bit version). It is possible that the latest release, Liberica 14, has fixed whatever causes you problem. You could download it here:
Assuming you run Windows, then download the zip file, the Full JDK for your OS (64- or 32-bit). Go to the game folder, rename the folder jdk64/jdk to something else, then create a new folder jdk64/jdk and unzip the Liberica zip file there. Now the game should run from these files instead.

The only place I've seen anything about it is this post (edited down) from the Become Alpha dev. Maybe any problem (s)he is having is actually about something else?

So the big news are - I'm moving out of Patreon, into SubscribeStar (Link removed). If some of you support me on Patreon, I'd appreciate if you move your pledge to the SubscribeStar, as Patreon no longer accepts real porn on their platform.

This is totally true. I was trying to find a way out of this situation, but they literally gave me couple days to move out until they will suspend my account on 1st September. I don't even have to tell you how bad news it was.

While discussing my ban with Patreon they told me they are forcing out every dev that uses real porn. But tbh I think that in the end they will be forcing all porn out, at least this was the impression I got from them. But can't be sure.

All in all - I would say Patreon is a very risky solution at the moment.

Interesting. Their TOS+ repeats "on camera" as if they are referring to "live" events, and doesn't immediately or obviously appear to rule out images of live persons.

But they make it up as they go along, so that will probably change in the near future to reflect this new reality.

Drat.

Thanks for weighing in on this, Grave. It's going to be important to spread this info around to as many Devs as possible, so they don't get blind-sided by the fact that Patreon has decided to be everyone's moral authority.

I feel like patreon swings around the ban-hammer arbitrarily as I've seen porn accounts that clearly break TOS stay around for years while others get banned swiftly. Probably different moderators all with their own subjective views on what skirts the line or not.

I guess Grasputin shouldn't worry as long as he didn't personally get warned by patreon but still make some plan B contingency plans in case he gets targeted in the future.

Yes, I hope it is as you say, that this is the random creator ban we see now and then. But what Patreon said sounded alarming so I've set up a Subscribestar, just in case, waiting for approval as we speak. As long as I don't see more signs of real porn devs getting kicked from Patreon I won't bother with the SS account (the only reason I've added it to the OP is to speed up the approval) but since the approval can take a while it is good to have the account ready to go if needed.

Didn't work or I'm not doing something correctly, well just got back from work and have to sleep, I'll recheck next weekend
