You need to complete other characters events to progress with some, who you really want to see.

I only make progress dependent on other characters when it is for a good reason, such as keeping the story consistent without having to deal with many different scenarios. For instance, if I write a scene with a girl where it is explained that the MC does something for the first time, I have to lock progress for all other girls at a point before that something has happened with them. Sometimes these dependencies can be about things that are not apparent to the player.
The "easy" mode you are suggesting might be possible to do simply by making all checks successful. I like the idea. I'll think about it.
