I created a cheat for this game (memory doesn't go below 90), if anybody wants.

Just add

-javaagent:pf-cheat-1.0.jar

to the command line and the cheat should work. Tried it with 0.7.00 and should work with the new version but I'll test it later.

EDIT: it works with 0.8.01 Beta

Just use the pfcheat.bat it starts the game with the cheat activated.

So for any linux users out there struggling like I was. Someone else mentioned doing nearly the same thing but what worked for me was downgrading my java version to 11 (as opposed to 15) then installing java-11-openjfx. Then I was able to run the game using this command.

/usr/lib/jvm/java-11-openjdk/bin/java --module-path /usr/lib/jvm/java-11-openjfx/lib --add-modules=javafx.controls,javafx.fxml,javafx.graphics,javafx.media,javafx.swing,javafx.web -jar pf.jar

Your milleage my very but figured since I struggled might help make someone else's life easier. For reference I'm running manjaro(arch varient). (check to make sure your paths for java11 and java11openfx are there if not adjust the paths to match your system.

(Edit: I need to point out that this was not a perfect solution for me. I can play the game and the videos and everything works but even with the changes and the specific run options most of the time the game just opens with a blank white screen and I have to close it and try again. Eventually (probably 1 in 5 tries) it will go to the splash screen and I can play normally.)

Errr...that's a lot of messing about.

Instead do "wine pf.bat" in the terminal and it will launch fine.

i think it the dev had remove images because he didn't own their copyright so to keep using patron to making money while dev the game and get around a DMCA take down order they remove the images and someone else put up an unofficial media pack so that dev "not connected to" the images.

Apparently it is to make updates easier and to allow modding. Copyright doesn't seem to be much of an issue.

The only reason I removed the adult media is that Patreon doesn't allow real porn. They suspended me and I had to remove it. It's against their guidelines.

Having the media in a separate folder makes modding and updating the game easier, so I should have done it that way from the start.

Thanks for the correction no clue they didn't allow real porn thought they cancelled due to possible incest content. Shows how much I know about Patreon.

Relationships are stored in the save file. Use your old saves and you will keep any relationships you had. Version saves and how to fix relationships.

So I was able to eventually update my game, and have media working. It was as bit of a clumsy effort on my part. Perhaps it would be made clearer for others if someone could post what the main game and /media folders are supposed to look like, when the game is properly updated? I would do it, but I'm fairly certain my install has a lot of duplication/excess files.


Edit: I think part of the problem is that for at least one of the patches in the past, I went with the exe version, not the .jar version. So my .jar of the existing v10.x install is tiny.

I tried to make everything clear in the instructions, including what to look for to verify that you did the steps correctly. What could be added in the instructions to make it clearer?

Ah wait my bad, I had derped and not read the instructions clearly and overwritten the pf.jar. I managed to recover it from a backup, and installed/updated from there. Sorry about that.

Yes, that is for someone using v0.10.01 and the update pack. For someone using only v0.11 and the full media pack there will be less files and folders -- if you see the girl folders you are good.
