The two different fishing lures available catch different types of fish. You probably are using the shiny one. Switch fishing lure to the rusty one and cast towards the long skinny fish.

What platform are you on? If you do a quick-save and pass it to us, we'll have a look at it. If you've got the player.log file, that'd also be super useful.

Hmm... nothing obvious in the player.log file, we'll see from the quicksave if there's anything weird going on.

Out of curiosity, if you restart, does it work now?

Thanks for letting us know It means there's something weird going on, though, so we'll need to try to reproduce it and fix it.
