So the armor we get to wear is just cosmetic and aesthetic.
I'm pretty sure there *is* a stat boost as we did integrate some stuff with inventory recently (still a lot of stuff is WIP there) - but it's not needed to win combat, just buy potions from the shop and you'll be fine with this current version of combat.

Alderian news!

Hey guys,
Sorry for the recent radio silence, lots of things been going on our end, some good, some not so good but progress is still continuing.

First, the bad news, one of our coders has unfortunately had to step back for a while due to personal reasons I won't go into for privacies sake, but we've respected their decision and hopefully they'll be able to rejoin us coming back on-board in the next few months.

We have managed to find in the meanwhile someone to step in temporarily for a few months, but, obviously it's going to take them time to learn our systems and things, so hopefully, this will just be a minor hiccup and things will stabilize pretty quickly.
The good news is we've completed (most) of the art for the update, still a few things left and a lot of work to be done, but, things are going okay.

I did hope a lot that we'd be able to somehow slide in some revamp to the combat system as a surprise for you guys to really 'wow' you all along with the amount of new content, but with the recent issues around coding I don't think that's a possibility this release unfortunately ... Never the less, improving combat is very high up on my list of things to improve and sort.

As always, if you guys have any questions or whatever,
feel free to ask them here or over on the discord!

"No monsters hiding under here!"

Thank you all so much as usual for your support,
you guys are awesome!

This is getting ridiculous, the MCs Mother is clearly a Witch, with a multitude of natural abilities and sight, yet we can't ask her a damn thing about ANY of it?
The MC goes through an inner dialog when she notices anything and STILL no option to talk to her, when we sire children (come on you know it's going to happen OFTEN since that's what these alien life forms are designed to DO) then what, are we keeping THAT a secret from his mother too?
There are SO MANY limited options and choices, when MOST of the time when I feel they NEED a choice, notification, explanation, understanding, and the list goes Oooon!
What's with the whole, oh here is a quest, you have to wait a few days for anything productive to happen? Oh hey let's go demon hunting...that neeeever gets old/.
Also...what happens when we are out of quests, is the version over...since I have nothing left on my end?

I would imagine that's going to be part of the developing story.

The last few times I played I went and killed demorai to farm bronze and gold, this time I did a bit more since they added the potion merchant. Eventually, I'll go into the bandit's den with the kill them all route, but for now, I've done it the sneaky way, because I wanted to kill the leader and keep the girl.

But feel free not to listen to me, I'm just happy that the combat moves relate to numbers so I don't have to move my mouse around more then needed to select targets.

Talking about or practicing dark magic openly in this world is usually a short one way trip to finding yourself executed or taken in by inquisitors for questioning and is a very taboo talking point.

Taking in a lycanthrope, Slimer girl, even the MC himself, his mother knows EVERYTHING, never even bats an eye, when a new plot twist opens up, the MC is just...bbbbbut...iiiii cccan eeeexxplain and leaves it at that after Regina just passes it off...uuhh OK...uuhh nope nothing more to see here I guess uuuhuh (Spoken as GOOFY would say it).
They talk freely within Regina's house ONLY when the script requires it (As I mentioned before it would be much better to CONTINUE that freedom of speech within her house)
Again, Regina isn't surprised at a single thing here and even has a(some) spy(s) to look after things when she can't physically be there (granted these things aren't known by the MC).
The MC is a blind, unobservant idiot, for KNOWING there is someting wrong, mentioning it to US or in his head a half dozen times and STILL not acting on them, no questions, no choices, no development in that direction at all.

The lack of story, choices, or dialog based solely on what the Inquisitors might do, seems mighty lackluster at this point, don't you think?
Even if they are shoved into the plot, causing a few disturbances, we as an audience can confidently see how THAT narrative will inevitably play out.
Lol, there are many within the city walls that know about the MC very well, yet the Inquisitors appear to be completely oblivious to everything that has transpired, we cant exactly have one or more of this group that eliminates ANYTHING they fear or do not understand, be aware of the MC and his other half, I wouldn't exactly tremble at a fearmongering, zealot group like that..about as much as I wouldn't fear the West Baptist Church in America...MURRICAH I should say.

Lastly, the reason I commented so much on this is that I CARE about this story, how it has developed and improved since the first time I played it, including now, when I started from the beginning.
I am not sitting here complaining to hear myself talk, nor am I aimlessly bleating like a stranded goat, I am openly speaking my mind, perhaps bringing things to light that weren't obvious from a different vantage or point of view.

This one is a difficult one for me, as it is in part a limitation of what we can realistically depict within our budget (and especially with our release schedule trying to be semi-consistent).

we have very limited time and resources that have to be delegated to certain art - And only within about the last 4 months of production have we broken even and seen any actual signs of small profit, which means things I would *like* to be able to depict as I envision them have to sometimes take a backseat and usually/hopefully be circled back to later to improve.

Lore wise, Novaras in itself is the largest city in all of Alderay, a sprawling mega-city that runs for miles upon miles. In this context, with Alderay itself being a huge country, it makes sense that the Inquisitors are everywhere but also nowhere, with hundreds of active cases at any given time.

In game, however, Novaras looks like a city of 100 - 200 people tops :HideThePain: So, while I want to depict the scale of Novaras and Alderay as a whole more to give a sense of "Holy shit, this place is huge" it has to always come with me looking at a cost sheet rn. This situation is improving for us but, it is what it is.

TL:DR Time and money issues.

I wll say as an aside I have put some thought into *why* things have played out the way they have so far and the inquisitors didn't just immediately interrogate MC and Markus but, that goes too far into spoiler territory.

I think I'll take on-board the comments here for the next update after this one, perhaps a mini-quest or something where Regina tries to throw MC off after he starts asking too many questions.

The Inquisitors seem to be everywhere they don't need to be and nowhere they do, but that, as you said can easily take a backburner to the story.

The idea of a mini-quest might not even be required, since she was thankful that the MC was honest and open when telling her of his newfound "friend"( that was a given since she is the one he can absolutely count on to keep his secrets and keep him safe), she is accepting of everything that has come in his life, she simply has to have a "Sigh...FINE< I will tell you everything" moment, a few paragraphs, with an ongoing option to talk about new experiences, and it's in the rearview.
They LIVE together and barely talk unless it's a dramatic interlude.

OH by the way, the FIRST time I recall seeing much more of Regina (some of the scene beginnings were saved during my other playthrough), which I really enjoyed (one of my favorite "options" in this narrative), did those renders and scenes get cut in the new version for some reason, like the Furry path?
I see the direction you want to take with the story, making the romance interspecies, though you can do a lot just within one or a variation of one, like with the Priestess, which havent been expanded in lieu of the new species being introduced.

Is there a way to take screenshots in 0.144 or 0.148? In 0.141 "s" would take screenshots but it doesn't work anymore? Is there a way to re-enable it?

I loved the story, it's wonderful, I love when the MC is weak at the beginning, and then he becomes strong and famous

well i guess you where right lmao
This was truly hard to figure out as long as you can read and understand English. :Kappa:

What else would this be about? Giving her a proper burial (that would surely be the first thing that comes in mind if you enter a place full of dead people/monsters and the chance to get ambushed at any time) after entering the place by accident? :KEK:
