These are risks that writers need to make, as a matter of fact, the story began with a pretty dark undertone. Most people play these games for the sex, so seeing someone so disfigured can be a boner killer lol. But this isn't some sex simulator, it has a really good story so you can't just play it safe to appeal to a specific aspect of the game. The mood should always change, that's what drama is...
Action + Time = Change
Change = Drama
Drama = Good storytelling.

if you wish to pull apart my comment then so be it.
you say that some devs NEED the service and yet then go on to point out that it is a convenience. hardly a need...more a want, which is a choice.
if not a single contributer to incest based games drops their contribution due to these new rules, which for some, drastically change the product being developed, like a lot of recent games, then you will be right. developers losing contributions tend to quit as so many have done before.
how many others have commented in this very feed about how this one single game has been changed? as it is contributers who ultimately pay for patreon, I'm not sure how my comment 'makes no sense'.

Yeah I gotta say there is no way Ada is actually meant to be anywhere near 18. Outside of the one forced technical school reference, between the model and the way she talks I can definitely see why Patreon would pretty rightly throw up the potential CP flag. I mean seriously "what is sperm then?" Did everyone's eyes roll back into their head as hard as mine at that line. I mean even assuming she was innocent enough to avoid anything adult related on the internet anywhere, and has never watched a TV show or movie not rated G, and somehow has never heard classmates talk about sexual things....then maaaaybe....no actually I still do not buy it because by the time you reach even 7th grade you have at least learned about it from science and health classes. Seriously even if a parent would stupidly forbid a kid from taking the full sex ed class which would have covered things like masturbation, you still have learned the basics about where babies come from well before high school from Health and Biology classes. So either Ada is like 12 or she is severely mentally handicapped.

Solid update. A fair amount happened, which is nice.
Ada having absolutely no idea about anything to do with sex was a bit weird though. Especially since nowadays kids are fucking as young as 13-14.

The mom probably had a pretty tight reins on her. Internet had everything blocked so chances are TV also has blocks.
