If you get a suspension letter, reply directly to the letter. Do not send your email to guidelines@patreon.com as it suggests on your suspended homepage. Over the past two days I have changed my page drastically and sent multiple emails to Patreon with no response at all.

I'm fairly certain the person charged with my assessing my page never even got my emails or checked for any changes. I got this email a few hours before Patreon's closing time:

"Hello again, I am following up from the message I sent yesterday. Please take the weekend to make the necessary changes. I am away for the weekend, but I will check on your page on Monday morning. If you have any questions in the meantime, feel free to reach out to me."

As you can see, she seems completely unaware that any emails had been sent or that any changes had been made.

I needed something that would fit in one Discord post for pinning purposes, so I made this .jpg that has Sin's letter to the Lewdlab Patrons on Patreon after they were able to get everything resolved and LewdLab's Patreon page back online.

LewdLab_RE_Patreon.jpg

I think someone posted it earlier in another post in this thread, but the important point is that Patreon didn't seem to be concerned at all about any of the Patron only posts, just the immediately visible content. Developers should find that interesting...

Are they seriously just leaving all this on halt over the weekend? You'd think such a huge restructuring process would be carried out by every single available hand.

What the fuck are they, some preschool lemonade stand?

It's really haphazard. They didn't send me their promised email reply either.
Going by the disorganization of patreon's responses and their focus on censoring just what you can see on the page, it seems like this was forced on them by someone above quickly and without notice. Shit like this is usually done on a Monday. And DmD got hit with the ban at what, 8-9 EST? It all seems a little loose to me.

It's really clear this was a poorly planned operation. Every sign indicates that they didn't think through the policy. Otherwise, they would have mass emailed everyone labeled "adult" with a one week notice about the new policy and specifics for avoiding suspension.

The fact they didn't suggests it's a clusterfuck on their end too.

I agree seems they only care about the wording on the site, not the contents of the game so far for less popular projects. like Man in the house, everything adds step and it is fine now and Family Lives Patreon seems fine the whole time

My Information on the FCC comes from inside the FCC. I have worked with my source for over 20 years and I trust that his information is correct this action the FCC is taking is part of the new laws on cyber crime and the unspoken war in cyberspace

In that case incest/rape etc. porn is more or less fucked. It's a matter of time as other sites will follow this trend and no one will dare to mess with it. At least in States and probably Europe. With how many american players there is I wouldn't be surprised if even Russians wouldn't touch it as it won't be profitable enough

Uh, what new laws on cyber crime? Also the FCC does not regulate internet content. It is responsible for regulating the content of broadcast TV and regulating internet providers such as cable companies.

Despite a bunch of nervous talk about government overreach, this is a purely business decision on Patreon's part, and probably a good one since I imagine when they started up they probably didn't see themselves becoming the world's second-largest economic engine for games about incest after Japan. I imagine creators of these types of games will need to do what producers of fetish pornography have always done and seek out or found niche publishing operations. In this particular case I would be surprised if one of the larger online porn organizations such as PornHub doesn't try taking a whack at the market in the coming days.

For me I don't really like incest games or games focused on non-consent, so while I'm sympathetic and I think everyone should be able to enjoy their kink as long as nobody gets hurt, from a purely selfish point of view I'll probably enjoy Patreon more as it becomes a more vanilla environment over the next little while, sorry haters!

The FCC can only place bans on public made post anything that is hidden by paid services the FCC would have to go through Congress and lawmakers. The problem with that is it breaks multiple rights in which we as Citizens in the United States of America have. The FCC has for years been trying to ban many adult games and videos that are classified as taboo or that contains any references to rape, incest, or any violent sexual acts against women, children, or men. This all happen because the new laws which where put in place to help stop cyber bullying now puts: -From my source in the FCC-> ( The new laws that where sign in to law by The President of the United States gives the FCC the power to ban and get law enforcement involved with any social media or internet sites that have free services as hosting, any act the can be depicted as bullying or can be classified as a gateway act that can lead to bullying) <- That is what said to me from my source at the FCC on an personal level he told me that FCC is using this Law as there personal get rid of any of the above mentioned adult games and videos. Now this was told to me cause not only does he work for the FCC but also because he also knows that I create adult games with many taboo tags as well as violent sexual acts against women. In which he himself has bought from me as well has paid me to make personal video game.

Then some people find gay, straight, lesbian or bisexual sex acts offensive why target incest? This would be unfair taking one side over another is an act of prejudice. For me I don't care because it's adult content games should be up to the player to censor not any group unless you ban it all. Patreon are creating prejudicial censorship ban on one sex type over another. What Trump ban on incest?

I agree with you on this Andy02 I think it should be p to the gamers. I think he FCC is just getting started with a lot of reforms they are going to pass down and the FCC does have rights to ban all broadcast which includes the Internet since most ISP providers are Cable and Satellite television providers. There for the FCC has all the power in which is broadcast over the internet.

Well, except that...it actually is just that easy. Because there already are such platforms. Check out for example.

The only thing making Patreon special is the monthly payment system. I doubt it'd be that hard to implement that on Kimochi, should they actually be swarmed by ex-patreons.
I beg to differ. You're seeing this from your point of view, and it's hugely biaised.

The reason Patreon is special is absolutely not ONLY because of the monthly payment. There are tons of other sites who do it. It's because adult stuff is allowed. Also because it's probably the only site I know who managed to include Paypal to pay for porn (I'm still amazed by that). Anyway, what bothers me is that you're talking about Kimochi.

I've been selling my games there ever since their beginning (before they even started to launch their first "steam-like" client). So I can easily tell you that this is probably the worst exemple you could've come up with. When they were still independent, Kimochi accepted everyone and it was a potential future paradise. After all, a "Steam-like" soft only for porn games and allowing all kind of games is the dream of many people around here (both dev and players). But dang didn't it last long. 6 months. It took them six month until reveal that the bandwith consumption was way too important compared to what they earned and they had to stop the system. It then became a sort of shadow of itself for what, two months, and then we got news stating that they were about to "partner" with Nutaku (read "get bought"). They ended up is a sort of cryostasis for several months after which they became what you're showing. And it's. A. Joke. Since it's owned by Nutaku, their TOS is filled with shit and games like mine are forbidden. Unlike Patreon who's apparently ok as long as you hide your stuff behind paywall, here it's a simple "fuck off" if your game contains one of those elements. To me, it's a bit like if I were a thrash metal band and got my venue cancelled and you're proposing me to go and play in a kindergarten (cause yeah, that new Kimochi site feels innocent as hell for anyone dealing with any fetish a bit stronger than sodomy).

So no. If tomorrow Kimochi creates a "monthly paiement system" it wouldn't be swarmed by ex-patreons. Tons of them wouldn't be able to hold their games because of the content. I think you don't realize the impact some of those fetishes have on most western sites. I take bestiality since it's one my main content, but basically I can't host my games anywhere. Even worse, there are many hentai forum I got kicked from just because of the content of my games. Mangagamers refused to sell one of my game because of bestiality while they sell Euphoria which contains women torture and snuff. Things are more complicated than you think they are. If tomorrow Patreon disappeared, I wouldn't have anywhere to go.

so i did check and apparently the FCC does have permission to regulate content on the internet since 2015 (thanks Obama).. but this raises a few concerns that the US gov't has ignored or they don't understand, the FCC is acting like they own the whole internet and would try to regulate content from other countries (i don't think thats legal or morally right)... sure i get Patreon is an American site but most of the adult game devs isn't even American or live in America, some of them haven't even been to America and yet the FCC is regulating their content (this can raise international issues).... but if this is the FCC doing then getting around them is very simple just put the ratting AO or MA (adult only over 21) and state all actors is over 18yrs of age, also "this is a work of fiction"... and everything should be allowed....

You are correct many dev are not from the US and I am sure we will find work around but for now many will have to watch what they say on the public side and hide all other talk about certain taboos being the patron only content

i am looking forward to The Hunter V0.2.... i want to see more of the plot and gameplay... anyways your stuff isn't as bad as you may think, for example Southpark uses a "MA" rating and they show poop, people pooping, full nudity (even on the main cast which is under 18) they also show the cast "milking" dogs, a gerbil going up Mr. Slave asshole, racism, murder, rape, cannibalism among other things AND THIS AIRS ON TV... and its allowed...

As well true but to be honest I not think this is going to last cause many are going to see this as over step on what they are doing

I'm sorry but the age of consent wasn't the problem. They enforce their rules about content that includes incest, bestiality and rape. Nothing to do with age of consent.
Also there will be no international issues. Crucial is the where the headquarter of Patreon is registered and therefore US laws apply.

Yeah because there's a huge difference between South Park and our games: One is made to laugh ^^' I don't know how it works in the US, but here, in France, you have huge liberties in terms of freedom of speech when it goes in the category "Humour, satire, parody etc..." That's probably why no one is offended by South Park around here (and why we're probably very good consumers of that awesome show). However, as soon as it wears a "serious" side, those things are all flipped up and become threats to society -_-

However, if you're a Hunter player, you've seen some of the sick stuff in it: Many people despise me for the content because I go REALLY wild in it and don't want to hold up. So when I see how much people dislike the very hardcore content, I tend to think that I belong to the dark part of an already niche market :p
