Firstly I do not see this as an argument but a discussion I am greatly enjoying. Secondly sentientce & sapience are very different but easily mixed concepts. All animals are sentient, but sapience is the ability to retain wisdom (the thing that puts humans above most animals) when I say they are "semi-inteligent" i mean they appear to be somewhere between sentient & sapient but not fully there yet. I'm not saying they can understand the common tongue or be Civilised (as they are) but they have a sort of proto-inteligence about them. At least from how I perceive the Bat Breeder interactions in the dungeon.
Also I agree with the Were-Creature comment. I mean to be honest the were-wolves/plaguewolves are humans cursed into monsterous beasts, there humanity lost (with some primal urges left over) but that's also why I put "were-spider" in air quotes, because they can learn, adapt & commune with civilised races. They r not "cursed humans" but a magical hybrid race born from polymorphed cross-breeding...
I thought of this more as a debate more then an argument my friend
.
I can see that these terms seem to be tied to a deeper understanding of the language that likely comes with it being ones native tongue I gues.
Well at least we can now argue on a more common ground I think.
There is only 1 Were Spider in the game, which is Venomina, the giant Spiders are the original beastial race.
Remember the witch had several dozen offsprings but only a single queen was born that posessed awareness of herself and intelligence, she in turn only birthed a single Queen that inherited those traits (Venomina).
The first queen was an intended mutation by a witch, but it still was only 1 of a dozen, we don't know how many normal giant spiders were spawned by that queen, but it's likely that she had given birth to atleast 1 normal broodmother and several giant Spiders, those now roam freely in the Cave in Weirdwood.
This mutation seems to keep going but the rate seems to stay small... maybe if several generations of Were Spiders were to mate with humans or other advanced races the Were beasts could become a sub species of their own... right now it's only a fluke of nature started by that witch.
Not sure wether the Werewolf are cursed humans or a breed of Werebeast itself, but the blood of the Master certainly changed them in a drastic way.
There simply seem to be to many Werewolf for them to simply be cursed humans... unless an enclave of them had put up camp in the abondened castle Thebes, when the master returned.
Them being Werebeasts however would hold potential of the MC captureing a female for the Dungeon in the Tower of Dread and another race for his monstrous army... also Wolfs are great hunters so they could either prevent Venomina and her tribe to starve or gather Carcas for the MC
