Either way man, yea, its up to you, but I do NOT think you should hate on RPGM, it appeals to some people more than other engines. I wouldnt go hating on Renpy even tho I prefer RPGM, but you miss out on some good games by ignoring RPGM

As linked to above, Sangeki of Gear is a good RPGM game, so are Rhodes Fortress and The Moral Sword of Asagi, Arms Devicer+ and lots of others

I would say do not take what I am saying as arguing, at the end of the day, we are talking about porn games, I dont care that much =D, I just enjoy a good discussion.

To answer it I had either to pull gamer cred, which is ridiculous, or roast WoW, which would have done nothing but multiply the current discussion, with all WoW players taking offense in addition of the RPGM ones. So, I'll pass. I gave my 2 cents about RPGM, I don't intend to debate about it forever: it's a matter of taste, nothing more. To each his own.

try any of the Japanese RPGM games, they do make better use of the RPGM engine than the western creators (generally).

I noticed that, the only issue is the censorship laws they have ruin the art, and the art of the Jap gmaes all look the same. Yes you can say that about RPGM and RenPy games no matter the nationality.

SUmmertime Saga is Renpy and it is just a point and click (like a comic) game, I play it, because there are puzzles quests and of course the art (sorry to use SS as an example but it is popular). I like RPGM because its more immersive, however I am very selective on which games I end up keeping and continue to play.

Everyones different, I like the comments (I say this in a goodhearted way) who complain about RPGM then explore a RPGM thread only to complain how they don't like them and they ignore them. (see the irony) :biggrin:

I've seen some (few) quality immersive games done in Unity, but I also see a lot of haters that bash Unity as well.

Should be noted I love Grand Theft Auto and games of the same violent nature.

One more thing that bothers me is how people jump out to criticize a game when its a demo IE, it is a concept, the dev wants to know if its worth their time to create a more thought/planned out game. They cram what they can into a demo so things are going to be all over the place. I wait till 0.6 - 0.8 versions then play it, by then everything starts to shape out.

No, you're actually the only webstie linking to my patreon as far as I know. I can't figure this game out, it's 350mb yet it has like 15 renders and the author decided to use Enigma to encrypt the files...why ?! I doubt anyone would want to steal any assets from this game.

And the best Part is...they are "borrowing" Assets themselfs...or isnt that the X-70B Phantom from Star Wars The Old Republic in the 1st Pic hmm?

A new contender for the "Worst Title, EVER!" crown.

I won't be bothering with this. If I wanted to run mazes, find shit, and fight shit I'd dig out my Commodore 64 and play Wizard's Crown. I don't understand how anyone can say RPGM is a "more immersive experience" when you are constantly shifting between map scenes that, frankly, use an animation quality 20 years out of date and hi-res scenes with HD renders. It's like playing original Donkey Kong and having all the end-scenes (Mario beating the ape, D.K. dumping Mario off the ledge, etc.) switch to a sequence of HALO 3 stills showing one or the other taking the hit and falling. Nothing breaks immersion like a complete change - of style, of quality, of environment. Ren'Py and Unity give you consistency throughout. I think Ren'Py is far more player-friendly than Unity but both beat Really Poor Game Maker all to Hell. Leave RPGM to the maze-runner games, where it's an appropriate engine. Any other games require far better than it can provide.
