The game was even more brutal with several bad endings.

Yeah, School Days is essentially the game that answers the question of "what would realistically happen to a porn game protagonist who slept around with a bunch of hormonal teenage girls?"
Ok... maybe not "realistically" but the second girl was a Hikikimori so, ofc she'd be yandere af. The one who killed him was pregnant with his child and he'd abandoned her. So you can understand her anger.

I quite agree... played both that and the sequel Summer Days and even though I somewhat enjoyed them what comes to mind when you say those words are difficult to find sub-paths / ends and several days worth of general depression and severe emptiness. I would recommend not drawing that comparison.

You could also name the high school, then use the school's name. Hell, that's gonna be the way we name my High School project.

If combined with one of the other prequels it would.. But might make it a separate one with a no sexual content tag... Though school, love and friends only got flagged for incest
Formative years carries a lot more implications of age than School does. You could argue that they're 18 in school, but formative implies younger.

For that, rather than writing an entire prequal, I'd simply prologue the game. Have it start, instead of in the hands of the protagonist, with a short kinetic story about the girls first day at University. Have them get their dorm assignments and all 3 be assigned to the same room (because they did it alpahebetically by last name ofc).
So the girls all meet in their dorm room, and they introduce themselves, all think, huh, that's weird, my last name's ____ too. Then they all have the conversation about their interest in photography, and how it comes from their dad that they barely know. And badda bing badda boom you have a scenario where these 3 all realize their father is the same fucking person.
