We need to start new with 0.13 or newer, then you can go to work in the living room. Otherwise you cannot.
(Dont be afraid - much less grind!)

Since I played "0.13 reworked" from start, it worked well.
Should be mentioned, when someone with a save from 0.12 wants to load with version 0.13 or newer.
Lots of confusion

If you go to the office [from Living rm at 1200 during the week] and WAIT/ADVANCE UNTIL **1300**, THEN YOU CAN WORK, get your ten bucks, when you go back home, skip to the next day and then choose 1200, living room and repeat. It becomes pretty quick

Fortunately there is no money grind since 0.13 remake.

this is not a bug. If you are playing on version 0.13 or with a save from version 0.12 or older, then you may experience errors. as I wrote before, to avoid errors you need to start the game from the beginning. Clean, new game.
