Ren'Py - Completed - Pine Falls [Part 2 v0.5] [Daniels K]

I played the final version for Part 1 (I think it's 0.8) and the v 0.5 for Part 2.
Although it's not necessary to play the Part 1 (specially if you just looking for some fap material), I absolutelly advise you to do. It's one of the best Erotic Novels I've played, with really deep bonding with the characters and a very immersive plot.

Getting to the point:

- Artstyle: 8/10. Gorgeous, but not perfect, since there's a lot of template usage. What I liked the most it's how unique are the design for each girl, specially Mia, who have this 'girl next door' look, kind of skinny, contrasting with the overused "bimbo" in this genre of game.

- Soundtrack: 8/10. Really good use of music and it goes very well with the scenes contexts in which they are played. Really amazing choices. Even so, it's not a 10 because it's a very small pool of songs, and it can be somewhat repetitive.

- Plot: 9.5/10. Amazing, the best part of this game, specially on Part 1. Very immersive storyline with a really nice structure. You get more and more hooked up on the 'grand mistery' of the city, there's some tension that gives this 'dark erotic' aura. For instance, when you decide to see what happens at night and get stuck with Grace the whole night. There are some 'downs': I felt Part 2 was kind of rushed, or at least it's not the same amazing timing and pacing of Part 1.

- Characters: 10/10. Simply amazing. Each girl has a very unique personality, they are so well written. Mia is so cute and caring, I fell in love with her!

- Ending: 5/10. I mean, WTF. There are two major faults: 1 - as I said earlier, Part 2 felt kind of rushed, and this is mostly because of the ending, it comes almost out of nowhere. And 2 - It's was kind of underwhelming how the mistery unveils and shows the "big secret" of what was happening in the city. It was like the author was very anxious to release his game and did not put that much care in the ending, like he did in the rest of the story.

Overall: 8/10. Good game, with some small issues that in any way hurt this amazing story. I didn't liked the ending, but this is a matter of personal opinion and it does not ruins the great experience that I got with Mia, Grace, Alice and the whole city of Pine Falls. I definetly recommend.

I do not like to rate games low as Devs put a lot of effort in making a game, so I usually don't rate a game that's not good, but this game was going well untill Dev decided to destroy it. So I feel I have to say this, do not play this if you want or like or rate good endings, as it has a pretty rushed and bad one. (At least if it remains like this and Dev doesn't put out anything after part2, if he does, I will change my rating accordingly).

Garce (a female character) was one of the reason I even stuck with the second part. She looks great. But the end, no matter which ending you get leaves out so much that it doesn't feel like an ending. I know the Dev is building a collective universe type of things through his/her games, so his mind may be on overall big ark, but that doesn't matter if individual games have bad endings and are not satisfactory, whole big thing won't matter if people give up on it because of smaller parts.

I know it is harsh because the money they get also dectates how well Devs finish the games, but if you will not take care of the products you are putting out there it will only hurt you back, users will just move on to other better things, even if you have to rush an ending make it have all relevant information don't leave it untold, tell me in text at least, or just still images, just writing The End doesn't make it so.

This game was (for me) a total boredom, I coudn't even go through the ending of part 2 and didn't care about knowing what was the mystery behind that.

- Renders are ok. Some of the girls have specific personalities but nothing really emotionally engaging.
I hated to see the MC in the same stupid and unatural postures.

- Animations/sex scenes are also ok-ish, nothing that gave me a hard-on (not even a half one). It felt automatic and the positions are reused with many LI's.

- Writing is very poor and doesn't convey any emotions.. Maybe it's a translation issue.

I enjoyed pine falls a lot especially part 1 the mystery was good & ending was also really nice. Part 2 on the other hand wasn't that well paced I mean the sex animations was obviously way better but plot overall was a let down especially the ending which was pretty abrupt & not that satisfying either. I did enjoy how they connected Lancaster Boarding House with pine falls (though it does present with a lot of plotholes).Overall I really enjoyed it especially part1(also has voiced characters) on the other hand part 2 not that much

The game itself is a solid 4. Very attractive models across the board (Millie haters can gtfo =p). Animations and characters are good enough, though Lilly really takes the cake as far as characterization goes.

The story though, is good in a bubble and great as far as porn games go. There are reviews complaining about the ending that aren't entirely wrong, but the game gets a bonus star because Daniels K might be building the only shared universe in porn games. I picked up the Lancaster Boarding House reference in the "true" ending myself, and another reviewer pointed out that it also draws from Zoe's Temptations (Which is probably going on my list now). It's probably worth pointing out that Daniels K's current game, Nursing Back to Pleasure, is also dealing with a mysterious sex cult. In a couple years we might get the whole picture that he's building, but he's definitely building something unique.

This was very meh on every level. The girls were samey both physically and personality wise. Millie was the best one, but not only was there no relationship option, they snubbed her in one of the endings with a makeover. I found the scenes/animations samey because I found the girls samey.

The plot wasn't bad but the writing was weak and there was nothing that connected me to any of the girls. Again, Millie had the best connectivity. Also, this game was the perfect setup to a harem (w/ preggo options) ending and should have capitalized on that.

Flat is the word I feel best describes this one.

this game is fine as fuck. girls are plenty with great design for each. story-wise not perfect, but it's good enough. the scenes are also creative a lot of the times. You'll have a good time with this game.

Personally I didn't enjoy this very much. The writing felt kind of juvenile and the sporadic voice acting wasn't common enough to merit any voice acting at all, and the little that was there wasn't very good. I just didn't enjoy the game, and the MC was pretty boring too. It was interesting to wonder why the town is in the situation it is but I just couldn't get past the characters.

Well, I was going to give this game 4 stars....then I got to the ending. I'll explain shortly.

I was drawn to the story. I liked the mystery of not being able to leave a town and the killer fog. Kind of reminded me of Stephen King's "The Mist".

I loved the models. They were all gorgeous. Except for maybe Millie. She wasn't ugly, but she is the fat girl of the town and she keeps trying to get with you. I loved Zoey's walkthrough mods. When Millie propositions you, instead of just highlighting the choice green they put a note on the choice highlighted green saying "If You're Into The Sort of Thing". I loled.

The writing could be better. There is some funny wit here and there, but it's a bit simplistic at times with regular spelling and grammar errors. They're not bad enough to confuse the scene, but they're noticeable. The kind of stuff that should have been corrected with a proofread.

While I appreciate the extra mile of adding some sporadic voice acting, it was pretty cringy at times. The acting was fairly wooden and sounded much more like they were just reading the lines than actually trying to act. The bad laughing especially killed me. So I just turned the voices off.

There are two types of sex animations; the kind with the two rotating static pictures and actual animations that is pretty stiff. You also never really know when the MC cums half the time unless either the girls says something about it, or you get a shot of the MC having pulled out and nutted all over the girl. It would have been nice if the dev had added the three flash gimmick for when the MC busts. It would have made the sex scenes better.

Now for the ending. I would like to echo what another reviewer had to say about it...

Where this goes wrong is endgame. You can choose to leave the town with a number of different characters at different points which leads to an endgame with those characters. But if you stay (which seriously, who wouldn't WANT to know what was going on), the game abruptly ends when it gets VERY interesting. It's like the Dev just threw up his hands and said, "Eff it, I'm done with this."

You do get an ending with each of the individual girls...Grace, Alice, Mia, Lilly, Grace & Alice. There is also an ending that you get if you bypass all of these to find out the origins of the fog. After the MC's talk with the Zoe demon the MC vanishes, but so does the fog and it stays gone. But the town is still sealed off and people still vanish. You never find out what happened with Zoe or the MC. And at the very end is one of the minor character girls saying she knows for a fact the MC will return and the game suddenly ends. It does feel as if Part 2, and especially the ending, were rushed in some capacity. I did like each of the individual girls' ending though. It was just the overall "final" ending that was a major let down. If not for this I would have given the game 4 stars.

I would say give the game a playthrough. I liked it. It was just the ending that killed me. It was like slamming into a brick wall.

TL;DR: An incredible game that could do with just a slightly longer story.

[4/5] Story: I absolutely loved the game's general story and atmosphere, but I really feel it would have greatly benefited if the "I'm not fucking going" ending was longer. As is, it'd almost consider it to be a "bad ending" since it barely explains the events in game and rather abruptly ends.

[5/5] Renders: The renders are simply beautiful. The characters look great, with great clothing choices and flawless textures, and while I do recognize some of the scenes from other games, they're still great looking and there's a reason they were picked.

[+4/5 Music]: This game has good music and general SFX however they don't always use the correct volume slider. I might write a mod to fix this if I feel like it.

I would personally recommend this game to people who like NTR protagonists but don't like NTR storylines. Unfortunately, this is the very reason why I think the game is pretty lame. The MC is a beta who lets the women in the story push him around and he kind of grovels at their feet most of the time. For instance, in the beginning of the story, he gets his wallet and phone stolen. The person who stole it blatantly lies to him and he starts mewling and begging for it back and even says they can keep the wallet if he can get his other stuff. The game is borderline femdom because a lot of the women talk down to him calling me a "good boy" and treat him like a pet. He even gets beaten up, ambushed, and incarcerated by some of the girls too because apparently he's not alpha enough to be able to stop these women. During a bunch of sex scenes, he has to ask permission from the woman to get on top because he's too scared to do it; in fact, some women straight up tell him he's gonna be at the bottom and he just goes along with it like the bottom bitch that he is.

There's a whole supernatural mystery going on in the town. Although interesting, the payoff at the end isn't good as things aren't wrapped up nicely and there isn't good explanations for all the supernatural story points.

I've played only few hours of Part 1, but that was enough to lose interest.

Grace is cute, granted, but that's the only good thing there. Everything else is just weird and lame.

The story and the characters are presented in shallow, cardboard manner. For instance, Mia with that bike ride apparently should represent an image of a nice girl; instead, as everyone else, it's a mechanical doll with few dialogue lines but with no soul.

The behavior of characters, including the MC, is weird and lame. I'm not saying that he should control everything around, but at least he should control himself, rather than being an amorphous douche. Ugh...

A solid game with good visuals and decent animations. Wish there would be a bit more renders during sex scenes, though.

The story is decent, although only 1 non-partner ending explains the mystery a bit.
Main girls are sexy and there's a good variety of side chicks, too. Overall, an enjoyable game.

How did I not see this.
Let me explain,

Daniels K games are related to each other, If you only played Pine Falls you won't understand shit, Everything will be a fucking mystery. This is what i found out, Zoe's Temptation - Lancaster Boarding House - Pine falls are all interrelated. In Pine Falls part 2 at the ending you will get choices for possible endings with your desired character, Instead of choosing an end with them you should click the option to hide at Lilly's place (This option only shows up if ignored every possible ending with charcters). Once you get inside Lilly's place shit happens and you get summoned by the goddess (Zoe herself from Zoe's Temptation). Then she explains that she is stuck in a tower and can't get out because of some Elven prick's curse on her, The curse is similar to the situation in Pine Falls where everyone is stuck in a place and can't get out. But the MC is special he is immune to that sort of shit he can get out and come in almost at will. So Zoe was the mastermind behind all this mystery, She corrupted the Ritual girls from Lancaster Boarding House in a same way she corrupted Linda from Pine Falls and used their lust from the rituals to gain strength because she was weakened by the curse and then created a similar situation as the curse on Pine Falls to find a human who can bypass the curse's effect so she can use him to get out of the tower. Long story short.

Play the games in this order Zoe's Temptation - Lancaster Boarding House - Pine Falls if you want to make some sense out of this BRILLIANCE from Daniels K.

I was very excited about the first part and the cliffhanger at the end about the mystery of the town. I looked forward to the continuation but as I started to play, the quality of the story/narrative began to decline ... I am not saying that the story is bad (it could be better) but due to the development of the outcome and the rushy endings (Also the true ending is a real shit since it is a cliffhanger and does not conclude anything of the story).

At least it maintained the quality in the drawing of the characters and the animation of the scenes which I emphasize. But I hate the pointless hasty ending.

The ending was a blunder unlike the others he has created or are developing. (which I've loved).

The girls look quite really good , not a 5, there is new games that look a lot better, but theres various types, nothing crazy, quite eye candy.
Animations are quite average, but theres a lot and sex scenes look really good, and theres a lot. Also nothing of that handjob-blowjob milestone thing, so its a plus for me.

Story is really interesting, theres a couple of plot related things that maybe cringe a litle, but nothing enervating.

The voice acting could be, or not, doesnt add nothing really, and moaning and orgasm samples work sometimes better than others, they are not always in sync with the scene.

Theres the scene with Grace after the "cozy place meeting" that is redundant and kind of foreshadows whats coming next.

Still the game is not a 5, but a 4 would be unfair in my opinion. So i give it a 5 and now will play part 2.

As a result of this abrupt and poor ending, I'm afraid it's only an average game. So much potential wasted by an incomplete and rushed ending. There was so much story to tell after the big reveal between the MC and the "goddess" and it went to waste. If I'm being honest, it pissed me off that it ended so abruptly because I was into the mystery of the story.
