i'm not on his Patreon and Discord, and i'm happy with it.
i'm not a game dev, but if i was to start a porn game, i will be sure to put a demo with a loop, a base already in place and sex scenes before a patreon.
then i will take my time to put good update ecc ecc.
this dude is the same as the monster girl island dev, he like the money but not to work on the project he is paid for, and that in my house is scam.
we are not saying he is talentless, but lazy and borderline scammer, like i said, if i agree to pay you 20 bucks to fix my door in a week, you can't take your sweet time and fix it in a month, and this is apply to Pizza hot.
he need to put the work on some loop and sex scene to make people happy, and after 3 years is a must!
in the time he put the 0.12 out another DEV started he's second game (Sinistar 2) and in what, 5 months? have already a playable demo with, behold, sex scene and a loop....
i don't get why defending someone who is stealing your money, and without nothing in retur.. i will never get this..
The dev's stated idea is that a game first needs stable foundations before anything else can be added gradually. This is quite true. He also has extensive plans for the future, which is also something that most devs featured here sorely lack.
But his approach leaves 2 problems:
1. When is this "stable foundation" done?
Hypothetically he could be making an unreal engine 7 to be released in 2150, which would have infinite potential and his fans all love the potential of this project. After all, potential is the most praised aspect of this game.
But even if he has his UE7 something has to be released for it to be actual content and the dev knows this. He is selling a porn game after all, not the engine.
Considering how proud he is of his time tables, plans and milestones, smart money would bet that he knows when he wants to make the first BJ scene or even the first proper sex scene. And as he states, he makes the decisions, he is very much immune to outside criticism as well, so those dates are only up to him. And he has made plans for a year in advance before, so he almost certainly know by now if this game will even get to a handjob this year or not.
Naturally he can have valid reasons not to share planned dates for content, after all, the unexpected can and do happen, but the fact remains that there is a large disparity between the plans, potential and the current content and this gap is the realm of trust and faith for the followers.
2. What is "content"?
It is a simple fact that good set ups and teasing are criminally underappreciated in porn games as most of them operate on the "hentai logic" of first date coming after the 5th sex, if ever. This naturally creates a demand for something different and well, this game is still teasing for over 2 years, which is undoubtedly a very uncommon approach.
I'm just teasing to get good points with the audience.
Still, in this aspect there are clearly two types of people here, one who is looking for hot situations and the second who do not consider anything tamer than a BJ to be "content".
The first group get what they want and the second group has absolutely no clue why anyone would pay to sit in a strip club and get teased and edged for 2 years.
These two points by the way create 4 distinct groups:
A: Trusts the creator and is here to be teased: they are happy and this is the best game on the forum.
B: Doesn't trust the dev but likes the potential: they are fearful, because one of the few good games for them is in the hands of someone they don't trust.
C: Has hope in the dev but wants more content: they are frustrated because the game looks good, but it's empty for them.
D: Doesn't trust devs, and wants more content: they are out of there already after seeing the "no sexual content" warnings.
Group A is probably where the supporters come from. B would probably support if the communication and attitude would be better. C wanted to support, but first some content is needed. D might give the game a chance if there was content.
Anyone can correct me if i'm wrong.
