Can you actually win against Dawn?
That lass had an infinite supply of full restores and a Lvl 68 Altaria, the game really did the hell it wanted with that battle.
The fight is a scripted fight where your pikachu is the last one standing and gets a special evolution which requires you to nullify the move you are about to be hit with. Pretty cool if you know how it works. Less cool if like me you have only a vague knowledge of pokemon. If you are curious I loaded a cheat save that has a move that does more than enough damage to k.o. any pokemon. Dawn's Altaria will just endure and full heal till you beat it through the scripted version.

Still don't understand how the Pikachu last stand works, like I use one of the Electric attacks even with the "multiple tiping" thing and it makes the same damage to Altaria, not enough to make a difference.

I'm liking the VN aspect of the game so far, but the leveling up and moves system in infuriating and both stem from the same problem: You can only level up the pokemon if you take the classes for their types (and a LOT of them to have any kind of chance) and the opportunity for fighting is very limited...
I specialized on Flying and Bug type because the game RECOMMENDED ME to over-specialize instead of spreading the types... welp, after FIVE HOURS, not only I never had even the chance to capture a Flying type, Not only my starter pokemon is STILL LEVEL 7 AND HAS LEARNED NOTHING NEW NOR HAD ANY SIGNIFICANT RISE OF STATS, but also, when I thought I was lucky for encountering a wild level 9 Cyndaquil (which was my highest level poke before the level 11 absol) I quickly relized he has only three attacks (smokescreen, leer and tackle) and I cannot level him up because fire is not within the classes I've taken and I am pretty sure there is not any other way for him to learn any moves.

Can Pokemon even evolve in this game? I like strategy as much as the next guy, but i'm getting tired of spamming mud shot with the hope that my nincada won't be immidately one-shotted by every single opponent.

why even have dating if it doesnt amount to anything? Not complaining just asking
Because people under the age of 18 play dating sims too? Also some people want to read a romance story that doesn't involve fucking in it. I would understand if the complaint was "Why is this game on a site dedicated to porn games" but let's not pretend that every game in the genre has to feature sex.

Still hopefully they develop more the romance in the next betas, like we didn't even get to go on a date with Leaf and that was heavily teased, then there is stuff like the "Headpats stats" that you can unlock in one of Serena's scenes that must amount to something right?

Which I hated the most from this beta was how they did a reset with many of the relationship points we've gathered till then, yeah it makes sense narratively but incredibly annoying when the time comes to bring those up, had stage 2 with Serena and now back to mid stage 1, was even higher with Misty or Kris and that was hella annoying.

Also not a fan of the moods system like it seemingly only adds more complexity to a system that might not have been perfect but far more enjoyable than needing to keep track of that.

Oh, i'm pretty sure Leaf won't just leave this matter unresolved.

Regarding the mood system, it actually helps to increase relationships much easier -- a basic interaction might give you just 1 point to relationship, but when it also gives +3 mood this means you'll be gaining a number of extra relationship points passively over next few days, until the mood falls back to neutral.

You absolutely have had the chance to catch Flying types. Not only does Swablu live in the first area, there are about a half-dozen other Pokemon so far that either are Flying type or evolve into one. I have a Flying monotype playthrough where the team has Skarmory as the starter, and includes Noibat and Vullaby as team members too. Also, a Togepi sits in the last slot to gain potential, but that's an investment for the future rather than a serious team member right now. I supplement my focused Flying type class with various other classes that my team members belong to as investment in future advantages for them.

Some Pokemon can evolve, but many can't because reaching the level requirements for them aren't possible yet. Or the items and means of evolution aren't available to the character yet. More of that will be coming soon. If you're keeping a Nincada, remember that it'll be your future Ninjask, not your Shedinja, that will be treated as your starter.

At the very least the docks area is gatekept by a Cramorant, so that's one flying type you're guaranteed to encounter. Although it may be admittedly bit harder to catch than an average spawn.

I can promise you that there's going to be more romance in the future. Every major content update comes with 5 new character scenes based on the popularity polls with the exception of this week because major revisions had to be done to all existing scenes to account for the end of week 4. Keep in mind this game is planned to go through an entire school year and we're only on week 5, aka it's less than 10% done. We'll be in beta for at least a few more years.

I am not knocking this game but I do find it odd that the Gen 4 characters aren't here at all.
Dawn is literally on the menu screen. Gardenia, Fantina, and Byron are present as well, and Cynthia is planned. If there's a specific character you want included, you can commission an artist to create a sprite for them in the Discord (lack of assets is the main barrier to entry for most characters)

I think everyone missed the point that you aren't supposed/able to defeat Dawn, without either Pikachu bullshit or Lance's Dragonite, the point of the fight was to unlock the new feature of everals by using the Pikachu bullshit. Even if we ignore that fact it is literally impossible to beat Dawn without Pikachu/Dragonite, cheats, extreme luck or a very specific strategy that you planned since the very first beta. A player that plays normally will probably have level 20-30 pokemon at this point and beating a level 68 Alteria that is using healing items just isn't realistic in the world of any rpg unless you are abusing RNG to the fullest extent or cheating by modding the game.

Nowhere near that. A tryhard who grinds like crazy might be there. The game itself expects the player who plays normally to have l.17 pokemon(s) at this stage of the game. (Janine gives this info if you ask her)

If you absolutely don't want your character to have a life, meaning no hanging out just training and studying than yes a tryhard could reach the lvl 30 mark, while someone that does the bare minimum in the friendship department will reach the 20's. You are absolutely right that a normal player that'll usually balance everything while focusing on only 2-3 types will reach lvl 15-18 within the game.
