So, uhm my first time playing this, great game btw, but how can i update from chapter 7 to 8? when i go to the update patch it says only for compressed version or i'm just plain stupid?

there is no update patch to go from one update to the next. you have to redownload the new release.
should they not be doing what they want if its THEIR game?

This seemed to work at first, but after starting the game, saving, and then exiting, I am no longer able to load my save. The screen flashes black and I am back at the start of the chapter.
Perhaps because the version of Ren'Py was also updated?

Issue only happened during the first scene of chapter 8. Saves loaded fine after progressing further. Kept this post in case anyone else had same issue.

If people can't appreciate 3-layer deep puns about pubic hair that's on them. Characters (especially ones who have known each other for a long time) can all have similar humor and still be realistic enough, and the other traits that they possess can distinguish them from each other. They don't need to present as walking tropes.

at the start of the game, it asks if you want NTR on or off. maybe you hit off on accident?
go to Hunters room (last room to the right iirc). click on Hunters face and turn NTR on. for any scenes you may have missed, you can go to the gallery to see them once you turn NTR on.

The same happened to me, opened my complete chapter 8 file and immediately got an error but then I opened the one where it was completed up to chapter 7 (Thank god I kept it) and it started chapter 8 fine.
After that, it was as smooth as butter.

First of all, it's Mac (short for Macintosh) not MAC (acronym for Media Access Control and a million of other things).
If you're looking for the save folder, it's in /Library/RenPy/(name of game). Every Ren'py game uses this folder for its saves.
