Brenna is the one spot where I feel like the MC needs a major kick in the ass. Look at how Brenna has reacted to almost everything along the way. That girl has got some serious (not-well) buried trauma in her past, and I'd wager money at least one sexual assault, possibly even an unwanted pregnancy. The MC is thick as tar when it comes to recognizing these signs and chilling the fuck out. Girl shouldn't have to have a mental breakdown for you to get the clue.
I very much agree with the point that she shouldn't have to have a mental breakdown to get her petition headed but I also think you are going way too far in adding trauma to the girl, just the fact that her father was a neurotic control freak and that her brother scaped for that reason would be enough trauma, more so considering that sexual assault and unwanted pregnancy haven't been something that has even been hinted at.
Also, when the cavin shit happened she wasn't sad or had a breakdown she was pissed, and MC got the clue as far as I remember, she had a mental breakdown when MC went for broke and her reasoning was a very very reasonable "I might have sex with my brother and I wouldn't mind, What kind of freak am I?" and at that MC was completely willing to stop, when he raped Ophelia in the bathtub he was trying to explain why it didn't matter.
I still defend that he was worse, pushier, and more insidious than he ever was with Brenna, he knew he was stepping over a line with Ophelia and when she rightfully called him out he just tried to smooth things over without changing anything and then continuing, with Brenna he misjudged a lot, got encouraged by Brenna's most trusted friend and Brenna was WAY more receptive than Ophelia (or at least it looks like that because they had to shoot porn).
