Can't see how Ophelia is one of "the best" characters since she is a bitchy, judgemental hypocrite literally every worst trade aside from being a rapist, i'd argue that as a character even hunter should rate above her even though i hate him too and am not a fan of NRT.

1. Sterling comes home, Ophelia apologizes for never doing anything about the father being a prick and says she will be a better parent.

2. Uses Sterling at every opportunity and give him shit for minor things like jokes at the book club or using a sex toy, or trying to have sex after telling him to have sex.

3. Breaks his dick, shits on everyone, is the only character that is still a cunt to him about his issue that she caused and refuses to help, before you jump on the incest is wrong thing and her reaction is realistic, brenna is the one that actually tried to help him make money for the photo shoot and is the one that saved him but even Cathryn that wasn't helping him wasn't teasing him and basically telling him to just live with it, the mom that broke his dick is also the one that got rid of all the sex toys in the house causing Sterling and Brenna hand issues while riding Brenna's toy and she is the one that had Ema go on vacation.

4. When Sterling could get a bonner and had to deal with it at a moment's notice and his hand was giving issues everyone pitched and Ophilia wouldn't even offer to find a toy that could work for him, hell she didn't even go check if the toys were still in the storage before it got auctioned off because it didn't effect her specifically.

Anyone that doesn't agree list 1 time that Opelia did anything for any character in the game that is not for her OWN benefit, you know like birthday week Eva being banned is fine but Mallory that is over to help Sterling deal with his issue is less fine, she also admitted to only agreeing to Cathrin's demmands because Cath was succking her milk out so again to her own bennifit over her own Family, regarding the Mother's Day comment it wasacctually perfect timing to hate on the "best mom ever".

Had to edit to add one last joke of Ophelia's character "we can't do this it's wrong" to give Sterling a handy for a medical condition but a 4 second handy every morning before that was fine because it made her feel better, or diving on his dick to stop the cum from hitting the pillow is "a mother cleaning up after her baby" but giving him a hand job for a actual issue is "wrong" to her, if cum falling on the bedding is deserving of a blow job i'm surprised she didn't try throwing Sterling in the washing machine like bedding to get rid of his problem, or how it's fine to see her tits, suck her tits, see him naked but seeing a wet spot on her panties puts him in the wrong.

In storytelling there's a concept called "conflict". Without it, characters can be unnaturally agreeable, which makes the story boring. An interesting story is a key reason people play these games instead of just looking at porn. If all you want is an easy mode magic dick simulator, there are plenty such games, but Power Vacuum isn't one.

I can agree my criticism may be a bit harsh and that Sterling needs to stand up for himself more but he is one of my favorite MCs at least top 5 but yeah i still think writing wise Ophelia is the worst character but that's just my opinion Hunter probably in this games sense writing wise i rate him 6th or 7th he is designated to be hated he is designed to be shitty and they do well to make you dislike him, do i like him no i doubt anyone does but that is what makes him such a good character in a written sense he plays his role perfectly to the point that everyone hates him, Brenna does her job of being the protective big sister, Cath does her job of being the annoying destructive ball of energy, Lucia i can't really classify how i see her but she is fun, i think some of the best reading though is between Brenna and Sterling just because there is always witty comedy which is a nice dynamic and change of pace that you don't see as much with other characters which is nice.

I was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, and then you go and write something like this lol. Ophelia is actually the BEST written character, regardless of whether you like her.

Ophelia's general behavior towards Sterling is very believable, because mothers often have trouble with the new relationship dynamics as their sons become adults. It takes time to for that relationship to evolve and for mothers to stop treating their sons like children. Also Sterling was away from home for several years, so Ophelia falls into old patterns with him because that's all she knows. One day you will understand the psychology of these things.

As far as the progression of the sexual relationship with Ophelia, I found it mostly plausible, up to the point where I had to suspend disbelief because it's incest porn. But that progression was far slower than with other characters, so I really don't understand how you can say it happened too suddenly.

I disagree. Ophelia is shown consistently to be an Italian mom maxer. She's constantly cooking and cleaning for everyone. She organizes the house upping their cyber defenses. Accepts guests staying long term. Organizing birthdays.

All this while her husband just died, she's being pumped full of drugs, found out her husband cheated on her, and believes he left her with nothing in his will.

What I'm trying to say, Sterling: the prodigal son has returned home and now everything will fall into place, and Ophelia will again begin to feel like a mother and obliged. Sterling begins to do many awkward things, Ophelia reveals her maternal instinct. A single mother finds out everything, her husband did not leave her anything after his death, not only that, on top of everything, he also cheated on her, it turns out...
despite all this pressure, she kept herself in hand and despite her harsh attitude towards Sterling, her son was still next to her...

why is she contradictory leading to Sterling? Only parents know this if you look at it from a plausible sense... He is the only son whom she will cherish and scream and direct to the right path and she will certainly not tell him about it, and will not show it so that he does not increase his ego...

and Sterling in turn will slowly return his mother to a happy life, making it clear freedom of choice and love, and not just power and submission

WWG hasn't said if they're going to be branching paths or canon to each other. He did originally consider a chapter 14 with all the vanilla endings/epilogues for each girl so maybe that implies they're in the same timeline.

I guess the fact that she was basically cheating on Sterling and that Kevin was much more domineering with her when typically she is the one in control really sent her over the edge. Along with the fact she is supposed to hate this scumbag but yet here she is doing the most intimate of acts with him. Sterling is sweet and caring towards her respecting her boundaries and is typically good at reading the room seeing if she is comfortable at the time to move things forward, but with Sean, Kevin and Hunter they take what they want.
