Pacing and slowness are a matter of opinion and this is by far the slowest VN I personally have ever played IMO. Thank you for the warning on A Wife and Mother.

Its an incest game. Slow pace is logical. I mean, what do you expect? That MC start to making out with his family members from chapter 2.
One of the reason i rate this game so high, that dev actually tried to write characters as family members. First chapters was setting up the stage. But then again, considering that i know what will happen next, its easier to me. And i like slow pacing when its needed.

The problem with A Wife and Mother not just pacing, but slow dev. Would his updates would be more regular and bigger, that game would rock. Wasted potential.

In fairness I never said this is a Bad game ever. To me this is an above average game. I wouldn't rank it low even now.

The hook doesn't kick in until the end of Chapter 3 iMO. The Graphics are excellent the animated renders are excellent, the dialog starting in chapter 4 is excellent. So I am not knocking this game in any way shape or form.

I would make it VERY clear from the beginning that their is a FF time button so you don't have to click through the same text over and over again. I'm sure this slowed me down considerably reading the same text over and over again.

The conversations that the characters have for the most part seems very natural as well. Is it going to make my favorites list probably not but to me its like playing Halo Single Player, I played it once liked it but I have no desire to do the campaign again, while I play Hades 2-3 times a week the game play keeps me coming back and I love it.

Its actually became better in my opinion. Second reason for liking this game, that dev tried to do better with scenes. Your processor may even feel it.
It still pains me that he didn't get recognition for dnd scenes. I mean, he was actually one of the first who did that shit. Long before BaDik.

See I find BeingaDik more of a grind than Power Vacuum. In Power Vacuum you just skip the repetive scenes and follow the hint system. Turn off skip for new scenes. Easy peasy.

On the other hand I was stuck in that dumb Halloween house on BDik for like an hour watching my system resources get gobbled up by a botched flashlight script. But I'm so glad Pink got all that time in for anti modding the game instead of smoothing out the kinks in his horrific mini games and questionable hint system.

Also kind of ironic an mc joins a frat called the DIKs, but everyone catches feels. Wait, what? lol

BaDik don't like mods. Save files from the version with mods not working on new versions. And apparently even clean saves.

I quit BaDik in 2021, not beacause its bad, but because i create chaos in my save files, so i didn't remember when i chick, when i dick and which girl i choose. So i decided to wait untill game will be finished and clean it from start to finish.
So how it close to the end?

I get that. Multi-path games are nice and all, but they need a walkthrough to play and if there's exclusive content, you need multiple playthroughs. That's fun and all if the game's finished, but during development? Yeah, that's a drag.

I've never managed to get through the first few scenes of that game because it was tedious as fuck. But anti modding? seriously? That's dumb as fuck and a very good way of losing your game's momentum. Reminds me of what happened to Lab Rats 2.

Like, I get it, not everyone wants to see this shit, and people might feel like the NTR scenes ultimately take away time and work from the vanilla ones, but this game is ultimately a very specific narrative focusing on a inter-generational conflict that has at no point led outside of ONE flashback and ONE DND sessions to the MC getting cucked, and even in that case it was his aunt and grandma getting fucked.

There is the POTENTIAL of the MC getting cucked, yes, but that's ultimately the narrative that drives the game, that's the necessary villain, the necessary conflict, to give the story some bite, not to make it bland or generic.
