Downloaded the game some days ago. At times too much text and long conversations, but as a whole, I like it! But one thing makes be a bit confused. The version I downloaded should be chapter 20, but I can't play more then to the end of chapter 19?

OK, but let's not get into historical politics here anymore. There was a brief joke in the game, and that's that. Let's not get into all the ins and outs of things empires in the past have done, which ones are the worst, and so on. We're starting to get off topic now.
I am very interested to see what the future will hold for the characters. While I wouldn't have foreseen the explorers potentially settling the eastern part of their island and establishing almost an opposing new nation there, I do think that or any of the in-between or alternate options are extremely intriguing. And given the personalities of the current group traveling with the MC, the push and pull against their decisions provides a good amount of uncertainty about what for sure will happen, even if it may make a lot of sense when they do actually come to pass.
The East India Company (aka John Company) was established in 1600. It dealt, primarily, in spices acquired from the environs of the Indian Ocean, as far east as the Moluccas. It later expanded its trading operations to include textiles and other general goods. No one is going to say that the Company was uniformly peaceful, kind, and generous in its dealings in Asia. However, the opium trade did not begin until 1770, generations after the founding of the Company. This hardly represents being "first and foremost" trading in opium. I don't object to painting the East India Company as being a less than congenial actor (it did cause a series of wars in the Indian sub-continent, as well as the Opium Wars in the 19th Century) but let's try to get the facts straight. Did they trade opium for tea and porcelain? Yes. Was opium trading their first and foremost trading activity? No.

I am playing through this from the beginning again and have reached the part where the 2 girls are drying their clothes.
Maria not ONLY tells the MC to close his eyes but moves right over to put her HAND over his eyes!
Is he supposed to be retarded, or a child, OR a retarded child, since that's what an overprotective mother would do??
Or she could just be a super jealous and controlling woman instead, while the MC is a SuperSimp to allow all of this to happen (Uuuh yes dear, you are right dear, ok dear).
You can't even say it's because they come from a culture that isn't as open as these 2 girls are, since again the MC was TOLD to shut his eyes and then had them physically covered (I LUUUV mah husband, but he ain't very bright yah see?)
In this little scene, I pictured the MC sheepishly saying "OK" like the weapons dealer sitting in Apex Electronics (Starfield reference)
HEY I improved the MCs INTELLIGENCE, this sort of shit shouldn't be necessary LOL!
Edit: OH that's right she has always been a jealous female, and I am guessing when she saw these gorgeous women, she HAD to make sure HER MAN wasn't getting any ideas, yet he ALLOWS it to happen when he already has his eyes closed is odd I guess LOL.

Well coming to a close more than coming along. I'm somewhat skeptical that the ending will be satisfying with only five updates left considering the size of the previous few updates which have been around a day each. I know there will be five more "epilogue" updates but considering how interesting the setting and characters are I'm really hoping that there will be a PoP2, maybe after a small time skip.

Where exactly have you heard 5 more updates because I clearly remember somewhat recently the dev stating there will be about 36ish chapters in total...

Considering that the roadmap was pretty openly posted in everywhere PoP related it should be pretty clear at this point what the plan is. Although it didn't list any more power point presentations but I'm hoping that's just an oversight.
Anyways, I'm sure there is a plan how to end the story but again with the previous few chapters being a day long at most I'm not hopeful that it will be a satisfying ending, but with how much I like this story I hope to be proven wrong.

Whether clear or not, if you look at what Pandaman himself has said, I wouldn't assume that the main story being finished by Chapter 25 equates to an unsatisfying ending. He said Chapters 1–5 were the prologue, so a 5-chapter epilogue isn't unreasonable and shouldn't be taken to mean things are going to be rushed or left hanging.
You are, of course, assuming that every update will be a day. It's really fairly simple to move time along faster, even without time jumps. I've obviously no idea what the planned endings are, but your making assumptions based on only a few recent chapters is likely going to give you a wrong expectation about coming content.
