You've never heard that one before? I've been on and off this site for a long time. Usually the first sign a game is going to be abandoned. I hope I'm wrong. I was really enjoying this one.
It's way too early to say. The dev was smoking some good shit when they put it out there on the Patreon site that they expected a 1.0 release to be done by May lol. Possibly just got a bit overwhelmed when it finally hit them that, nope that is not remotely possible.
I believe F95 requires no updates for *18 months* before it gets the abandoned tag so, some of you are seriously jumping the gun.

You command supporters what they should do. (... no words for that)
If you - personally - guess that it is abandoned, thats your personal decision /assumption.
Rules for F95 are clear: As hoshimota stated already - Abandoned tag = 18 months without update.
Before that, it might be "on hold".
Nobody can judge what the personal problems of a dev are, and what it really means to have a burnout in his case.
I know ppl who had burnout for half a year, to have it for less time doesnt mean they immediately can work in the speed like they did before (coz its not over - even if one thinks it should be).

Sorry, but the persons who pays the developer can also judge him. If you experience such a long break and down you put your patreons on hold and give them a note about this. This is called integrity. He gets nearly 1000 dollar the month for doing nothing. And i dont think this will be his only source of income. Most patreons make this as second income, only some can put patreon as first job, and yes its near self-employment.
If you would pay for a service you dont get for months and the company gives you no information, you dont said: Oh, this poor company, i need to hold on. You are canceling the contract, sometimes you will never go back.
The worst, i really mean this, of this developer, is his lack of information and communication given to his patreons. Yeah, i think this is a first sign of abandoning his game. We saw this before and we will see it again. Maybe not here, but at the moment the chances are high.

Has anyone else had this error, when you kill the terror in the flame/spike trap room leading to the keystone it produced the error "loading error, failed to load: img/characters/%24zako2-1_damage.png". I've tried doing a fresh install and that file just isn't in that directory
There is a file www/img/characters/$zako3-1_damage.png . What if you copy file www/img/characters/$zako3-1_damage.png to www/img/characters/$zako2-1_damage.png ?

Why is it not standard practice on this site to have a brief explanation of things like patches or the difference between alternate game versions (ex patreon vs subscribestar versions) being offered for download?
It should be listed under the Installation tab every time. This file does this, and that file does that. Instead of always saying "1. Extract and Run" (yeah that's real helpful). Why the guessing game all the time?

As someone who's been suffering through Summertime Saga and their inconsistent and extremely bi-polar upload schedule... the probability isn't that high, its still there, but I've seen games on here without any form of update or even news on it for months or even a year, but the updates still came out. But just slower and shittier and inconsistent. I think this is just the norm for porn game devs. You can only take some much porn, you know
