Think of it this way. This is not exactly a rework, since he said he might revisit the old game at some point. Therefore, there is no point in keeping the same model. Since the princess is different, the story is different (At least that's the impression I got), the model should also be different. Is the old princess iconic? Absolutely! But it makes no sense to keep the same princess, if its not a rework. And if the princess is not the same, then the model can't stay the same. She is similar, since the game is based on the previous game, but also a little different to make her unique. Personally, I can't say which one I prefer right now as I haven't seen much of the new princess.
Its futile to disucss if this model is better or not.

We need the first play and after this everyone can make their decision if they like it or not.
Before that, everything is just whining.

No chubby princess? He genuinely lost my interest. That was the main appeal for me. Just comes across as generic corruption with more mechanics/hoops that will make it take a couple years longer to complete now. Stuff like this is why I'm increasingly jaded about blowing money backing h-devs early on.

Well, if this is indeed the new look of the princess, I much preferred the previous one
I'm not saying this one is bad, but imo she simply looks a bit generic. Victoria already had a lot of character in the look itself

However, the possibility of fancy camera movement with UI hiding looks great. Also, the simple style of the UI itself really appeals to me. I don't know if the icons were made by X-Dew, but they very much add to the style

I'm not a fan of restarting/remaking projects, especially when the dev just wants to overhaul the mechanics of the game and slowly works through the story again but it different mechanics/characters/etc. The best time to do that is when a project is very new and there isn't much story developed, so that finding the right gameplay method can be a priority (like realizing that Ren'py is better for a visual novel story format, or RPGM for a more involved open-world experience). When the dev just stops a project halfway, goes radio silent for several months, and does a remake for no reason, it just feels like a cash grab where each update just has a few new renders or mechanic that just delays progression for the sake of milking the game's fanbase.

We had just gotten to a turning point in the game, where gobbo would proceed to corrupt/woo the princess after getting the belt off. If the dev wanted to slow progression and get more content, he could have involved the knight, witch, queen, or any other characters for several updates so that we don't knock up the princess too fast and finish the game. Don't really like backing devs that pull this sort of BS, and not gonna sub again unless a significant amount of the new game is released considering the dev might just drop the project again.

Remaking the game with even more complicated systems when he couldn't even get the simpler systems to work properly sounds very silly. And completely redoing all the art and story makes it even worse. If it's not a milking scheme, it's an awful idea that won't ever be finished. Oh well, it happens.

To be fair this is generic pose. During conversations she should be more expressive. But yeah I preferred the previous version.

For those who didnt read the posting of the dev on Patreon:

He made his point of view clear, and I like to follow his arguments.
When dev started, he had no xp, now he has a lot more, skilled enough to handle a more complicated system impo.

There is no milking from devs side, coz supportung is voluntarily.
And it is the right (and the possibility) for every supporter to leave Patreon from one month to the next (in case one feels milked). I support (again), and non-supporters shouldnt blame supporters for supporting, impo.
