I hate how much of a grind fest this game becomes. getting sharpening stones especially by the middle of the game is annoying. The worst part is that when you try to put game modifier or cheat menu is breaks the game so you can't use it to get items.
Use a save editor.
Even without, though, I stopped doing the sharpening in the desert somewhere. There's no timer in the game, so ending the day just makes you run back from the castle.

PSA: For anyone having the cheek clapping sound bug.
Cause: using the sex as a preventative measure.
*potential* Fix: if you're far enough along where the brothel is available choosing the sex options seems to have cleared the state that made that noise permanent. worked for me and im not looking to reproduce the issue xD

Just finished the game. Honestly, I'm really surprised that this game is as highly rated as it is.
I think in the whole game, the stuff with Chris were probably the only scenes I enjoyed at least a bit b/c of how ham the voice actress went
