Is the dodge supposed to just not work sometimes? Like it's one thing to gt hit by explosives, get lit up by a volley of bullets, or over commit to an attack and get punished. That's my B. It's another when your standing perfectly still, you hit the dodge button early in your opponent's wind up, and your character doesn't budge. I even tried it out when there's no danger and she's not even horny if distraction is a thing in this game. She just stands there while I hammer the down arrow. Why?!

Ngl, your keyboard might be fucked. That's not supposed to happen at all. First off, test if the key works everywhere else (like on a Google Doc or another game). Second off, what speed is your game running at? If it's running slowly thanks to a weaker CPU/GPU, that might be part of the problem. If it's running smoothly, it's almost definitely something to do with the keyboard itself.

The key works just fine here in the browser and in a few bullet hell titles, so the keyboard isn't the problem. Just in case I have a relatively unused keyboard (I forgot how mussy generic keyboards can be).

Also, your wouldn't happen to know of an overlay that functions with GameMaker titles, would you? My go to MangoHud has the player.exe on a hardcoded blacklist and the results of searching for how to view the gamespeed or fps for these sort of games all assume I'm the developer.

I don't, unfortunately. But I can look into it. That said, I wasn't exactly asking for exact FPS to begin with, though I admit my wording was a bit faulty. So to be more accurate, when you play the game, does it feel decently fast or does it feel sluggish?

Edit: On the first part, after a single Google search, I may have found a possible solution. But just to be sure, what OS are you using for this?

I noticed that the title screen stutters and freezes in parts, but otherwise it runs fairly smooth. Running on Arch Linux over WINE.

On an unrelated tangent, it's annoying how I can easily find parts for an obscure radio from 1953 based on an image but something as ubiquitous as an fps display is like finding rooster teeth.

Yeah, it's infuriating at times. But this is precisely why having a place like this to ask for help is so neat.

I did find that Steam has an overlay that you can use, and there's a fairly simple way to add non-Steam games to Steam to take full advantage of this (that Add A Game button no one really pays attention to at the bottom of your library). I don't know how to activate the overlay, but the amount of times that question has been asked and answered is well beyond enough for you to find it through a search (though knowing Steam, you could probably dick around for 7 minutes and find it).

Ugh. I usually avoid using steam's overlay because of it's egregious overhead. The default shortcut is Shift+Tab, and for anyone foolish enough to follow my footsteps you can change it in Steam>Settings>In Game> Overlay Shortcut key(s). After messing around with different versions of proton the best I could get was the latest experimental build. That said it was noticeably slower. Never exceeded 50 fps during the fight and it constantly dipped bellow 30 during the second half. The skipped button presses were exacerbated as now jumping has the same issue + a delay even with nothing else moving on screen, not to mention the freezing when UI elements are first loaded.

If this is not resolved, we will not be able to launch!
Princess Reconquista has two major problems.

These must be resolved or we will not be able to sell the game.

I need your help because it is difficult for me to test each of them in my own playing environment alone.

Especially, it would be very helpful if someone who is familiar with Pixel Game Maker MV could come and help me!

1.Understand the minimum recommended specifications

There have been many reports of lag when there are many animations of characters and backgrounds, and this has been a concern of mine since the free trial version was distributed.

I would like to ask everyone who has experienced lag while playing the trial version of this game to please let me know your current playing environment (mainly OS, CPU, GPU, RAM).

We would appreciate it if you could also tell us when and where it occurs.

Please write in the comments section of the article.

Please note that we are only interested in “those who experience lag” in order to understand the problem.

If I could do something to lighten the game, I would be the first to do so, but that's not an easy thing to do...

It would be nice if there was some way to automatically lighten the resources or investigate what is causing the game to be heavy, but Pixel Game Maker MV is not equipped with such advanced features.

We will do everything we can to fix the problem, but honestly speaking, it is difficult to make the game any lighter than it is at this point.

Therefore, I thought it was necessary to at least understand the “minimum specifications” for playing this game.

Also, if we can narrow down as much as possible whether it is the CPU, GPU, or RAM that is causing the delay, it would be helpful for future reference.

It would be best if all could play comfortably...

We apologize for the inconvenience and ask for your cooperation.

2.Save function malfunction

This is quite serious.

The save system was also one of the problems that was often reported, and even in my environment, I often had problems with saves not working, or loading data that was much older than the last data, for some reason.

After investigating the cause, I found that the save data was supposed to be created in the folder where the game exe is located (Resources > save), but for some reason it was being sucked into the Steam folder and the save data was being created there....

If that was all, it was still causing a rather nasty and mysterious phenomenon: every time the game was started, the game folder or the Steam folder was randomly referred to as the load destination.

Because of this,

The previously saved data behaves as if it has been lost when resuming play.
→Continue playing with the new data and quit the game once.
→The saved data is now back to the saved data that should have been lost the first time.
→I don't know which saved data is loaded each time I restart the game.
You are stuck in a situation where you have to go back and forth between the two saved data.

I don't know if the problem is that the save data is sucked into the Steam folder, or if the load destination is sometimes the Steam folder, or if this problem only happens to people with Steam... but anyway, this phenomenon is the only thing I'm sure of. We need to fix it.

But again, this is a problem with Pixel Game Maker MV itself, which does not allow users to tweak save and load settings.

It might be possible to solve the problem by entering the script directly, but I can't write JavaScript, so there is nothing I can do about it.

I know this is a rather complicated problem, but I would appreciate your wisdom.

The problem with this work is... well, it is not the only one... but for now, we must first solve these two problems.
If you have any other bug or problem reports, please comment on this article.
Please help us.
It looks like I'm not alone.

Oh, I didn't notice that at first. Whoops. Also, fair point on the Steam complaints. It sucks, but sometimes you've gotta just make do.

This was too fun, didn't even had chance to stop and enjoy the sighs because I was locked in. The enraged boss fight bit caught me by surprise which is nice.

Will it contains beastiality and/or monster sex? If yes I'd consider to support it. I'm really excited what we will get in the final version.

There's some in the files, but patreon and I think steam don't allow that sort of content, so it's not been implemented in any of the updates and idk if it'll be in the full release. Maybe a patch that's released on another site, but it probably won't be on patreon or steam.

They allow sex featuring imaginary monsters such as minotaurs, but not real animals.
