the nsfw content only avaiable later when the full game released as "mod", not directly included in base game

Well, is definitively easier to achieve funding that way but that is not what people funded in the first place. So to me it looks like he grabbed the money of his supporters that wanted a porn game and now is making an action adventure game that will include porn as a mod "trust me bro" kind of thing.
