Character Development - Jarvis
Jarvis Johnson, the old perverted neighbor, is one of the neighbor of Myriam, leaving with his son, Bill, due to his age and reduced mobility. Having leaved as a journalist and photographer, he has a sharp mind and a camera always ready to immortalize anything that caught his eyes.
Jarvis is also an evil character and will become one of the antagonist Myriam will have to face during the game. Abusive, manipulative and perverted, it's always with great pleasure and satisfaction that he tries to dominate people, using his method of choice, blackmail.
Jarvis will have two ways to know him better, via his son Bill, if she get familiar with him, and via social service, as an help to the elderly if she join the church volunteers and start doing some social service. After that, depending on Myriam's actions, he could end up with some material to blackmail her into servitude.
While this path is nice why does the old man always have to be dirty and perverted.
I've genuinely never seen one where the old man is genuinely a nice, innocent guy and then the wife just willingly services him out of pity/gratitude.

Mmh, if this old man is and evil character, you can't say it's the same for all in the game, you have for exemple Bobo, the old hobo, if he's strange, you can't say he's an evil old man, his only action for now was to try to reassure her when he found her crying in the park.
After those two, I have some other old men in store, and as pretty mush everything in the game, they will be nuanced, some will be good guys, some bad, some just neutral pervert.

No, all side characters will not have the same importance in the future or impact over Myriam's life, some will be romance partners, some just sexual encounters, some will be antagonists, some allies, some just drones, some will have a line of events and some will just appear in and there in some events.
I wasn't interested in doing a game where only the MC and his 5, or so, romanceable partners seems to exist, which is totally ok, just not what I wanted to do.

I like that, maybe NPC's should only be introduced, when you meet them and not giving a full description incl. character traits. For example seeing the neighbor in his frontyard mowing, washing the car etc - and that opens the player a new character description and you can extend the character description the more you now the NPC. For example in the start "Old neighbor, retired photographer", then you meet other and get information about him or talk to him himself and you'll add "slimy type, undressed me with his eyes. xyz said there is a rumor he blackmailed some people."
