True. Personally, I thing more positions with the girls we do have would be great. 2 position for each combination, like in MBM. That, of course, will need to come further down the development line, but I still think it'd be cool. (You know what else's be cool? Mermaids)

Honestly, the big thing I want from this afternoon this point is to have the monster girls be breedable by the other monsters. Being able to throw a shortstack or an oni to an orc would be very fun. Or even put them into the stockades as well.

That and I hope we get werewolves again.

Same, I understand why you're not able to do that since it would make it significantly easier to get breeding pairs both with 5 gold traits, as rather than needing to RNG into a monster girl with 5 gold traits then RNG into her producing a non-monster with 5 gold traits, you can just directly use the monster girl. But it does feel very game-y that each monster race has a monster girl counterpart but they for some reason cant reproduce with each other, and it'd be nice to have especially since there is more significant variation in body types from the monster girls vs the non-monsters.

You can have sex with the monster girls, the 4 beds at the top of the base you can put humans or monster girls there and the MC can breed them. It's how you're suppose to do eugenics with humans, breed strong monsters, wait for a monster girl version to appear with good stats, throw them up into the upstairs beds then breed a human with good stats.
While you can only breed, Slaves breeding with goblins can give you access to shortstacks, who are effectively evil lolis. You can breed with them too. Since they count as monsters, you can also use them to fight.
I know, but I also want my female goblins fuckable for my male goblins.

I think it's not just that the monmusus aren't allowed to breed with the male monsters for gameplay reasons, but I also get the impression that they somewhat outrank the male monsters. The normal women we throw to the monsters are all slaves, so why would a monster girl stoop to doing slave work in the burrow? The rough hierarchy seems to be player > monmusu > monster > slave.

There's also the point that it would require significantly more animation assets to be made too. There's quite a lot of work already involved in making every combination of monster and humanoid, so adding in all the monster girls would practically double the workload.

Not just double, it would increase the workload exponentially, because with every new monster you'd have +1 animation you'd need to do compared to the previous monster.

Indeed. As much as I would love additional animations for each pairing, the workload raises exponentially to account for every variation. Every monster needs an animation for each type of slave, meaning every one of each needs even more animations than the last. There will be around 8 slave types, assuming they keep all of the races from MBM, meaning they need upwards of 33 different animations. And that's not accounting for pillary, delivery, or any other features involving sex or similar that they plan to add. Maybe they could do it as DLC after the game's full launch, but otherwise, its not practical during initial development.

i think right now it's better for the dev team to focus on human enemies and monsters instead of other female races .
to be honest , i was expected that they will add female boss enemy , other mechanics from MBM like milking room or crafting and more type of monster before moving to add more female race.
Steam release will slow down the progress so i don't think we will see they release new update for this game before end of June.

And i hope they fix the breeding system soon , i prefer to raise monster stats with breast milk like in MBM instead of breeding. It's easier to do this than create a complex breeding system that have too many problem , just breed a normal monster then feed them with milk from races to create stronger monster.

MBM's Steam release shouldn't hold ProjectR's development at this point. It's currently in steam review stage.

Do you know by any chance, what will be different in Steam release of MBM?
1. Flat-chested characters will be censored: Niel figure is different, not brainwash-able (also not required to be brainwashed for endings). Vivi won't spawn. These two won't be in gallery either. New-born females will turn into grown forms skipping loli stage. All of that can be restored with "Patch", so don't worry about it. It's just how it had to be done for Steam.
2. Rune ending requirements changed: build 10 rooms (was 50 rooms before) and sell 100 eggs. Done for balancing - easier to get without building tons of rooms. Getting her ending still results in game over... well, I still think that's a canon ending for MBM.
3. Remember that white character outline? In old version each object have 3 textures: main, black (opaque) and outline-white. In new version there's only one main texture and outline is done with a shader. So no more additional GPU compute for texture duplicates = faster performance. New method looks a bit different, though.
4. Since there are less textures and less GPU memory is used they upgraded texture quality. Original release used a mix of DXT5/DXT5Crunched compression for characters. New version use BC7 compression. Unless you're trying to emulate it on ARM or playing on 10 years+ old hardware it's a preferable format.
Mind you, it's not a tremendous difference in quality, but art is just not suffering from additional compression:

5. Data structure is different, easier to mod character assets and no need for constant packing-repacking procedure. It still requires Spine software for a proper editing. Don't expect big breakthroughs in modding either, it's not built for modding in mind like ProjecR is after all. Most of stuff is still hard-coded.

If you want my opinion, new version is worth it from a technical standpoint. I'll make sure to adapt my mod for it, there's still lots of CPU performance headroom available if I'll optimize character mesh complexity. Tits mod won't be supported on release since I'll need to adapt its files to work properly on steam build. Old BepInEx (ModPack) mods should work fine, though (ComplexBreeding should work as well).

Can't say anything more, since I simply don't know what's going on with Steam Review process *fingers crossed and all that* You should wait for news from devs about that.

That's awesome, thank you very much! To be honest, I've been thinking to myself for quite some time that I would've gladly bought the game. Well... Looks like I now will be my chance! Fingers crossed the game will be approved soon!
